[Aurora Lights 206]

Aurora looked at him and blinked,looking down,he couldnt look at the thing he nearly killed,he couldnt do it,not after tearing apart some of his friends...he knew he hurt him...but...he couldnt say sorry...he couldnt say anything...he felt like he had a lump of guilt in his throat...he looked to Spark and nodded,getting up and softly placing his hooves on her arms and healing the cuts.

The lead griffon was empthetic. For the first time, the griffons understood the pain that they had caused to everypony. How their pridefulness, seperated them from the rest of Equestria, how their selfish motives make everypony hate them. The lead griffon walked over to Thunder Dash and bowed his head. He stood there for a few seconds. "I...I'm so sorry." He said hugging into Thunder Dash with tears in his eyes. "Now I see it. I see what we have done wrong. You have opened my eyes to the real thing. I was in a delusion, thinking I could have everything, not caring who's lives I'll affect..." The lead griffon said. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash was over with Sparkleshower making sure she was okay.

Sparkshower smiled and looked up at Aurora. She put her hooves on his head and bumped her head slightly to his. "Don't beat yourself up over it, You had a rough foalhood, that makes fighting our dark side harder. It was a moment of weakness." She looked at rainbow dash "I'm okay thanks"

Aurora walked over into the corner by himself,he was scanning the room when an eerie voice crept into his head "Aurora....soon...Darkness Will Fall~"it whispers creepily,its voice no more than an evil hiss of seething hate,he blinks and closes his eyes.

Sparkshower saw his clenched eyes and figured out what was probably happening. She sat down beside him and put her hoof on his. "Don't let it intimidate you, let that happen and it gets more control. "  She leaned against him "I'll help you learn to fight it."

Aurora opens his eyes again and sighs,hugging Sparkshower tightly,he whispers "....it keeps...telling me things..."he says quietly,since the last time he let out Hatred,it had grown more powerful and hungry for blood,he didnt expect it to harm him this much...but...it was...so scary...

"Yes, that's how darkness tries to get it's way. It's like an evil hypnotist trying for you to get in it's trance. This is a mind game. You can defeat thoughts that are in your mind. The voices, the hate, the everything evil. You can destroy it all, but it won't be easy." Thunder Dash said as he continued to hug his two new griffon friends.

Aurora nodded and sighed at his friend,he looked down at his hooves...Darkness' words still haunting him 'Soon...Darkness Will Fall'...     

 

 

               Chapter 3: The good,The bad,The Forsaken

 

Aurora slowly wakes in the morning,he had no dreams and he was snuggled with his six best friends,Pie,the other changelings,Thunder,Dashie,and Spark.

The next day, Thunder Dash woke with both his two changelings and new griffon friend. The changelings and the griffon seemed to get along. The griffon went to wake up Rainbow Dash who was still sound asleep. "Huh? Is it morning yet?" She asked in a daze. "Oh, it's you." She said rather surprised that the griffon woke her up. "Morning Aurora." Thunder Dash said stretching.

Aurora smiled and yawned "morning."he murmured and stretched,cuddlig his little Pie in his arms tight,she growled softly and pushed lightly but dowsed back off into her deep sleep again,he smiled and yawned as he softly kissed her head,he didnt wnat to wake her up but he cuddled her closely.

His two changelings and his new griffon hopped off the bed and stretched. Thunder Dash then went in the shower and rinsed off. Rainbow Dash was pruning her wings, which she usually does in the morning since they get all sticky in the night sometimes.

Sparkshower turned over. "mmmmmm good morning" she said tiredly She got up and began to get ready. "Alright guys" she said as she was heading to the bathroom" today you  start your night guard training, get ready." she went into the bathroom and locked the dpoor behind her.

"This would be a great time for Night Flare to be here. He's already part of Luna's secret night spy group. They keep watch for any sneakers. He's actually the top dog of that group. No wonder why I don't see him at all since he's got quite a bit of stuff to do throughout the night." Thunder Dash said out loud. @,

Aurora blinked and preened his wings with Dashie,helping her get some feathers,her doing the same to him,he sighed and spit out her cyan feathers and he stretches his back,it popping and cracking as he lets out a sigh "mmmmm-mh!"he says as he stretches "cool."he says and looks at the bathroom door.

"No need to help." Rainbow Dash said slowly moving away from him, yet at the same time, trying not to offend him in any way, shape or form. Suddenly, Thunder Dash came in to the bathroom. "Alright, who's up for some delicious pancakes over at the mess hall." He asked.

Aurora watched her move away,he looked at the floor a minute and sighed,feeling alone slightly,he was by himself in the middle of the floor and his wings drooped before they fell to their normal stance,he sighed and looked down,he closed his eyes and whispered "I'm a monster..."he whispered quietly as a tear fell out of his eye,Darkness hissing into his mind 'Mmmmm...yesssss~...you ARE a monster...' it hissed meanly.

"Yo Aurora! You comin'?" Thunder Dash said in the room. "The pancakes will be all gone if we..." Thunder Dash suddenly stopped to see Aurora with his head down. "Oh no." Thunder Dash said. "It's trying to bring you down. Whatever you do, don't fall for it's belittling." Thunder Dash warned. But he was afraid that Aurora already had.

Aurora blinked and shook his head "leave me alone...I'm...I'm a monster...I killed without remorse...now not even Dashie will be around me..."he said,his voice so quiet it was almost a whisper,he slowly stood and walked out of the room,his wings dropping and almost sliding on the ground,the Darkness hissing 'yesssssssssssss~...Leave them,they know not of what you can do...you and I are ONE Aurora...they are nothing but annucense to our pleasure..."it hisses darkly,Aurora shakes his head "no...th-they're my friends,I=I would die for them."he sates quietly and the voice whispers evilly 'But would they do the same for you~?'it whispered 'Rainbow Dash has already treated you as a outcast when she refused to let you preen her...she sees you as nothing but a useless evil tool...are you going to let that STUPID MARE...say that about you behind you back?!...you are more powerful than them all combined!...'it whispers and hisses into his mind,Aurora being forced to listen.

"Listen to me Aurora. You're not a monster. You're an extraordinary pegasus, the one who created the beautiful Aurora lights. The one who stood along aside me to befriend Chrysalis, the one who always pushes himself to the best he could be, despite your physical setbacks. The darkness wants you to submit. You're submitting to the darkness. Is this what you want? To lose everything, even your destiny?" Thunder Dash asked now in front of Aurora. Thunder Dash was not going to give up without a fight. He did not want to lose his special friend, nor he didn't want his sister to get hurt.

Sparkshower had finished getting ready and had snuck up behind the two listening to the conversation. I can't believe they haven't noticed me She heard Aurora whisper the thing about him being a monster and nobody wanting to be near him, and decided that was the moment to act. She got into a preparation stance and pounced, knocking aurora on his back "Rule number one of night guard. Never let your guard down." She rolled off of him and sat crossing her forelegs. "Now what's this I hear about nobody wanting to be near you? Who is this nobody? Should I be jealous?" she was joking of course trying to make him feel better.

Aurora blinked and looked at Thunder's hooves "b-but...I..."he starts to say,but he stops and closes his eyes as he starts to cry but he stops and wipes his face "the darkness...he wants to kill me and take me over...he hates me...he hates Rainbow...he hates you,and Spark...he hates Pie and your changelings...he hates that griffon...he hates everything..."he says,his voice wavering and cracking,he sighed and softly pushed Sparkshower off of him "its...you...just..."he stammers and shakes his head as he starts toward his destination.

"You and the darkness are two separate things. If you submit to his words, you're letting him become part of you, or worse, redefine who you are. I cannot afford to lose a special friend like you Aurora, to some evil darkness that just wants to get it's way." Thunder Dash said hugging Aurora tightly. "And in case the darkness tells you that you're worthless, I say, you're worth more than all of Equestria." Thunder Dash added still hugging Aurora.

Aurora blinked and looked at Thunder a second before hugging back "I-I..."he stammers and cries on Thunder's shoulder as Darkness whispers darkly in his mind 'mhmhm...you are sooooo WEAK...you look gay~...hugging another Stallion...you don't desirve this right to be called living..."he whispers meanly in his mind.

Thunder Dash looked deep into Aurora's mind. He saw the darkness hurling the insults at Aurora one by one. "How DARE you insult my friend like that!" His own mind yelled into Aurora's mind. "You're stronger than ever. You can overcome this darkness." Thunder Dash said out loud. "You're nothing but a jerk! Just wanting to take somepony down for yourself. Well, you've chosen the wrong pony Mr. Darkness!" Thunder Dash's mind screamed into Aurora's mind.

The Darkness turned his evil sights on Thunder and let out an evil chuckle "awww...the queer stallion trying to hurt my feelings...how sssweeeettt..."it growls,its laugh growing louder as Aurora blinked "I-I can't live with this thing anymore..."he whispers,his mind set-he HAD to die...he couldnt risk getting his friends hurt.
