Bronies before FIM?

I done a search on google trends for "brony" and it seems people have searched for brony before friendship is magic. Did it mean something else then? Or did people watch the old show? or idk.

there were brony's in the first few generations. but i have absolutely no idea of what kind of brony's they were. i guess you could say they where kind of the same as the FIM brony's but i have no idea of their fandom.

Anyway, there probably were bronies in the earlier generations, but not nearly as many as there are now.

It could be just spelling mistakes. If you look at 2009 for example, the only person to search it lives in Poland and just by coincidence, he axadentily spelt brony. The work certainly didn't properly exist until 2011 so that's my best guess.

Oddly enough, unless I'm reading this wrong it says that the term was searched numerous times but only in Poland. I've got no idea whats going on there! Maybe it means something in polish? Probably not.

Also, the person holding the username Brony on DA had it long before FiM and his page has nothing to do with it, so the word has to mean something somewhere.
