"Well, can't say I expected that response," Curious thought to himself. He was aware he had some charisma; it's always been a handy tool. Even recently he had to use charm to get what he wanted. But, never had he just received a compliment for its own sake.

 

Curious readjusted his scarf a bit, and said, "oh, well thank you, Cerulean, name's Curious."

 

"Well, she seems rather forward herself, no need to hide my intentions."

 

"I didn't realize this inn would have a place like this, however did you find it?"

Cerulean thought for a bit. "I don't know, she said there'd be showers. I don't see any here. But that's okay, I really wanted to draw right now anyways. There are so many shades of color here, it shouldn't be wasted with a measly shower..." She said. "Well, obviously I'm going to take a shower.." She paused, thinking she didn't have to explain. "There are so many beautiful things in this room." She said with delight. "Look, there is even another door leading to another room." She said. Although she didn't see that before. "Wait, I didn't see that before.." She dropped her brush and walked to the door and opened it. There was the showers. "Oh, I guess the showers are in here." She smiled, walking back over to Curious.

"I'm no architect but this place doesn't seem to have any sort of sense of traditional design," Curious thought to himself. This would certainly fill a few gaps in his knowledge of the place, but it revealed so many more.

 

Curious looked back at the smiling mare. She didn't seem too concerned with the oddity of the place, and that was a relief. Curious has always worked alone, well, ever since his mentor left him. He never understood why his mentor insisted on having companions go along with him, "things always go so much smoother, and a lot less ponies get hurt, when you work by yourself." 

 

Curious assessed the situation, and decided that Cerulean's more laid back view of the place could provide further insights for him, and said, "You know, I fancy myself an artist as well. Unfortunately, I've never had the time to just dedicate time to paint. But, I do try to sketch out what I observe." Curious walked up to a table that had some paper and charcoal, "I think I'll stay in this room for a little longer, sketch out a few things I have seen recently. Why don't you join me in the exercise; I know you're in the middle of a painting, but this'll be more fun, eh?"

She hesitated. She felt very nervous about spending time with this stallion. "Um, I guess." She usually never really spent anytime with  any stallion, except when she went to art shows, and worked with them when she did plays. She also had one in her old band. "I guess so, what do you want to sketch, uh, out?" She smiled brightly at him, trying to seem eager to stay and join him.

Dust felt a little awkward standing there as Milly and Repsol introduced themselves. He excused himself from the room and looked around the inn. This place is so large... He saw an open door and peeked inside. He could see Cerulean and Curious using  the charcoal. "Well shoot if I knew we were you usin charcoal I wouldn'tve washed my hooves!" the stallion joked. "Mind if I join? Ahm not much of a drawer, but I guess I'm better then some people. Coal's actually good at drawing, surprisingly!"

Curious nodded at Dust who had just come in, and took hold of some charcoal, "Oh, it's a fairly simple exercise. Just try to draw the first memory that comes to mind." he drew a few lines, marking a horizon. "it could either be a very strong memory from the past, or it could be something mundane that you saw recently." he drew a few more lines, a mountain on the horizon, "don't worry too much about how accurate your recollection is; this is just for fun, after all." Upon the mountain he sketched some boxy shapes. Upon those boxy shapes, he drew spires.

Cerulean felt extremely nervous about being with the two stallions. She was showing how uneasy she felt. She started breathing louder.  "I um, guess I'll draw my father. He died, um, anyways." She picked up the charcoal and started to draw her father, and tears began going down her face.

"Hmmm first thing huh?" The stallion looked at his canvas and his eyes sort of glazed over. Without thinking he started drawing a body. And then a long mane. And the frilly clothes. And the delightful smile. When he had finished the sketch, his eyes refocused. He looked at his canvas and his eyes grew wide. Did I draw that? The picture showed Milly, and it was extremely detailed. He slightly turned his canvas away from the others and thought for a moment. What just happened?

 

((Okay I'm still working on Dust's talent and back story, and this RP has helped. I decided that he talented at just about everything. However, if he is not interested in the subject then it won't show. Occasionally he will lose focus and his eyes will glaze over and he will show that he is talented in the subject, which is what just happened. He doesn't have any recollection of it and usually never sees the aftermath, but occasionally he does. This is why his cutie mark is an empty minecart. He knows he is good at mining, but he feels like he can do more, leaving a small emptyness inside him. Sorry for the long OOC post, I know I'm not supposed to do that but I thought I should explain what just happened))

It was of a mare, with a long and wavy mane. She had a necklace, inlaid with three gems. When he drew her face, however, he couldn't help but draw her as sad as Cerulean was showing herself to be. "This was the face I hadn't seen from her... because I had ran away. This is no memory, but somehow it left an impression upon my mind, it seems."

Argh... It happened again! Dust looked at the two other ponies. "Well... *ahem*... um, I think ahm done fer now..." Diamond Dust took the canvas with his strong jaw and put it, face down, on his back. He heard what Cerulean had said and felt like he couldn't leave easily. "It's not you... I just... I need to think over some things."

"Um, alright, I guess I'll stay a while longer then." Curious said, not really feeling comfortable to stay given the circumstances, but compelled nonetheless by Cerulean to try something, and nodded in farewell to Dust as he was leaving. Curious looked back to Cerulean, and he tried to put on a smile despite her continued crying, "Perhaps, we can do something a bit more cheerful. There are instruments here, would you happen to know how to play any of them?"

Dust's better ear perked up at when he heard instruments. Thinking could wait. He returned to the room and looked at Curious. "Um,,, I think I already told you, but I play the piano." And Celestia knows what else. He looked around and saw a very nice piano, about the same quality as his own. He walked over and sat down, looking over the keys.

She smiled. "Um, yes, all of them actually." She grabbed a flute and began playing it melodically. She looked at Curious and smiled while playing. She began to feel in with comfort around him. She put it down and looked at him, "What about yourself?" She said, smiling at him.

Curious looked at the two ponies who started to play music. The flute complimented the piano well, but he couldn't help but notice that there were other sounds intermingling between the two. It was making the whole composition more complete, but he couldn't deduce where the sounds were coming from.

 

Curious looked back at Cerulean, and answered, "No, I don't have the patience to learn any instrument myself. I have been to quite a few concerts, however, and I really do appreciate the art."

"Oh come on Curious! Instruments are a darn good pass time. And if you find one that you really enjoy, then it doesn't feel like work when ya practice." Dust smiled at Curious and then looked at Cerulean. "Hey have you met Milly yet? I talked ta her earlier and she said she's a singer! Maybe we could get her in here and we can do a trio! Or quartet if Curious miraculously finds an instrument that he randomly happens to be amazin at." At the thought of Milly, Dust lowered his head a bit. Looks like he just could never stop thinking about her. He looked at the drawing he had set down, which was now facing up. He didn't even think to turn it over in case Milly walked in.

Milly was talking to Repsol a bit when she heard some music playing. She looked in the direction it was coming from then looked back at Repsol "I...I want to go see who is playing that music, you can come if you want" Milly smiled then walked towards where the music was coming from. She got there and saw Cerulean and Dust. She waved at both. She saw that their was painting and drawing supplies. She took a quick look at a drawing near Dust...'That drawing...looks like me?' Milly thought, she wondered if it was her and who had drawn it...it was right by Dust. Wile thinking she bumped into a stallion...Who she hadn't talked to before. She looked at him "Oh..sorry!"

Dust grew stiff as soon as Milly walked in and saw her glance at the drawing. He knew she had seen it and was probably going to ask about it. Then she would probably think he was a creep. Dust sighed. He wasn't normally so pessimistic and Milly seemed too nice for that. He shook his head, creating a small cloud of dust. "Oh uh... Hi Milly! We were uh... Just talkin about ya a second ago..."

"Aah, so you're Milly." Of course, Curious had already figured that, but it would have been weird if he had said that. "Pleasure to meet you, I am Curious." Curious smiled at the new mare, and extended his hoof.

 

"Dust just said you were a singer, is that correct?" Curious said, trying to distract them from the picture Dust had drawn.

Cerulean stopped playing the flute for a second and looked at Milly. "Oh hello Milly! I remember you." She smiled. "Would you like to sing? I'm pretty good at singing myself, but I'm going to play the flute, know any good arrangements?" 

She smiled again and looked at all of the ponies. She felt like she was actually fitting in with these ponies.

 Milly took a quick look back at the drawing then looked back at Dust when he talked "Talking about me? Well...i hope you were saying good things about me!" Milly laughed then looked back at the stallion she had bumped into "Yup. Sorry...for bumping into you...Nice to meet you Curious" She smiled "Yea..i like to sing, and ponies say i'm good.." Milly looked at Cerulean "Sing? That seems fun...but i'm not sure what to sing"

As much as Curious would have liked to hear whatever the three ponies would play, he still had too many questions about the inn itself. "this has been a fun diversion, learned some things, but I feel safe to leave Cerulean in this state. She seems to be getting along with these two well enough."

 

Curious tugged at his scarf, and said, "Well, you three enjoy your music. I'm afraid I have somewhere I must be, and, well, I play no instruments myself. See you later, Dust, Milly, and..." Curious looked at Cerulean with a smile, "you too, Cerulean."

 

He turned around, knowing that at least one of them would probably object. But, he was resolute, and he trotted out.

Dust waved a farewell to Curious. He looked at the two mares still with him. 'Well now I know how Cerulean felt.' Dust chuckled at his thought, and then started feeling awkward. "So uh... Curious is a little mysterious don't cha think. He makes feel so... You know what I ain't even makin the pun." Dust looked over to see Coal coliring in the picture on the floor. Pink and brown. 'Oh no.'

Milly waved as Curious left. She turned back to Dust and laughed "He is...I guess his name sure fits him!" Milly giggled a bit "He always seems to be leaving when i come...Hope its nothing i did!" Milly said jokingly, remembering when she first had met Dust and that stallion walked off. She looked over to where Dust was looking to see Coal coloring the picture in pink and brown...Milly looked back up at Dust "Hey...is that picture, well, supposed to be me?" Milly asked a bit shyly
