WIP Wallpaper (Need Suggestions)

Hey!

 

I need some suggestions on this wallpaper I'm doing.

 

I wanted to do something a little funky and different from what I usually do.  I got a base, but I don't know what else to work on.  Just need some suggestions on what I should add to it and what I should change!

 

This is it so far:

I would suggest adding a texture to it. I've never actually made a walpaper before, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but a texture to the background would make it look better I think.

 

Are you planning on adding a pony to the middle? If so, the background screams "Pinkie!"

And I'm not to sure what I'll do with the middle.  The background is colors from all the mane 6.  Their coat colors to be exact.  I'm not sure if I'll put something that includes them all, or do something different. /:

Try and add a glass texture to the squares. It'll give it a stained glass look, and I think that'd look great.

I know a graphic I found on google one with a roundel featuring all the cutie marks of the Mane 6. If you could find that, it'd look perfect in the center.

dat circle could be easily turned into princess celestia's cutie mark if that's the sort of thing your going for but otherwise nice job cant wait to see the finished product

I agree that it could use some texture, I'm actually liking the stained glass idea umbreon suggested to. Maybe use that.

 

I've honestly like never made a background so idk.

 

I was thinking of saying the white squares look a bit odd to me, but then you said it was the mane 6 coat colors, which would ruin it.

 

Maybe have the elements of harmony in the middle? Or possibly the mane 6 together? Something including them all or else fill it up and maybe stick the respective elements into each pannel of color that goes with each mane 6?

 

Like in the Purple pannels put the element of magic (The gem or the crown) and same with the others, it might look cool if you make it kinda blend into the glass and look like its on the other side of it.

 

But if you don't put anything in the middle I think the circle should go, otherwise it needs to be filled.

 

And um yeah, I think thats all I wanted to say, again i have no experience, so don't take my opinions without salt .

Thanks for the suggestions!  For sure going to play around with it for awhile and see what I can make of it! If not I'll try to use it for something else.
