Mare Do Well "Copycat" concept

I have always been fascinated by the concept of "copyCats" when it comes to the whole thing with Masked Vigilantes.

 

After watching The Mysterious Mare Do Well, I can easily see a copycat thing going in the future. Nobody else in Ponyville saw the real identity of Mare Do Well besides Rainbow Dash, and then she just suddenly dissappears.

 

Mare Do Well, as a character, was fascinating (to me) and I would like to see a return of the persona, but not as one of the main characters. I dont think its going to happen, but it would be interesting, in my opinion.

 

What are your guy's views on this?

Remember, they created Mare Do Well, rather, RD's friends made the Mare Do Well as a way for RD to let go of her pride. She was being highly arrogant, after all, believing that she could do anything she wanted to, so, I'd be quite shocked if the character (for that matter, another persona appears as Equestria already HAS the Elements of Harmony) makes another appearance.

I know it wont happen, but I just think it would be an interesting thing that could happen, if another character decided to Copy the persona. How the main characters would react to it, perhaps the motives of the copyer are not well intended. Or perhaps someone with good intentions getting in over their head and wind up needing help themselves. I havent put much thought into it, I just like the concept, wanted to hear some other views on it. Maybe good fanfic material or something.

No actually that is an interesting idea. People must have wondered where did her go and who infact was she, so after a time, any pony might have taken the oportunity. I dont see in wich situtiaon would they use it, given that this is not a superhero show

It's time that (criminal) ponies share her dread.

 

MLP: FiM isn't really the forum to explore the phenomenon of copycat vigilante. It is a bit weird to consider Ponyville suddenly befallen by near fatal accidents which necessitated (at first) Rainbow Dash and Mare Do Well; now everything is at peace. The whole episode was constructed as a means by which to convey a one-shot message, so I doubt there much by way of impact on the whole of Ponyville.

 

If Mare Do Well returns, or rises, or begins, it should only be for a short segment of an episode. Otherwise, I'm afraid that persona will have overstayed its welcome.

I would love to see the return of Mare-Do-Well! The Mane Six pretty much are functionally superheroes anyway. They only saved the world twice, and Ponyville on multiple occasions. I say it's Dash's turn to put on the cowl!

I actually had an idea for a fanfic, or series of short fanfics, first centring around the return of Mare-Do-Well (played by the entire Mane Six this time), and later the rise of copycats in other cities like Manehattan. I did have a vague plot worked out for the first story, but I decided that it required too much emotion and drama before it got to the good, campy superhero stuff.

It would be pretty awesome to see Mare Do Well return! Having some kind of crisis that the Mane 6 could solve by putting on the cowl again, this time including Rainbow Dash(who definitely save more ponies easier than Fluttershy, being a better flyer and all.)

Ah, it's good to know that there'd be an audience for this sort of thing - now if only I could figure out a good plot and then stop procrastinating long enough to write it!
