Scrumpy 159 July 4, 2013 Share July 4, 2013 What did you think of Snips and Snails resorting to cyberbullying for Sunset Shimer?Personally I wasn't expecting it, and as much as I dislike real cyberbullying I kinda liked that it was included in the movie because it's very relevant. It wouldn't surprise me if Hasbro deliberately put it in to raise awareness, and set a good lesson in place for the kids. Any thoughts? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Scrumpy is cider made in the West Country of England,[1] particularly a band through Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, though it may also be found in Kent, Sussex and East Anglia. The term is especially used to distinguish those made locally in smaller quantities and using traditional methods from mass-produced branded ciders. repsol rave 2,963 July 4, 2013 Share July 4, 2013 i think it was pretty good of them to put cyberbullying in it, altough they didn't really punish snips and snails directly for it so i don't know if they executed it properly. but hey, you can't expect a movie to be 100% greatness right? Darkshift 85 July 4, 2013 Share July 4, 2013 Personally I don't get cyber bullying basically if you are being cyber bullied you tell the person "stop hiding behing your screen and have the balls to say that to my face"trust me that gets them to stop. Scrumpy 159 July 4, 2013 Author Share July 4, 2013 i think it was pretty good of them to put cyberbullying in it, altough they didn't really punish snips and snails directly for it so i don't know if they executed it properly. but hey, you can't expect a movie to be 100% greatness right? Yeah I hear ya, I like to forgive movies if I can for stuff like that; I mean the screen time is limited and the writers and animators have to get as much of the main plot in as possible, so it's understandable that things maybe classed as less essential to the plot and get cut out. I'd have liked to have seen them do refuse duty for it or something, but yeah true you can't have it all. Personally I don't get cyber bullying basically if you are being cyber bullied you tell the person "stop hiding behing your screen and have the balls to say that to my face"trust me that gets them to stop. Personally I see cyberbullying as defined not by one off snide comments or blatant trolling but defined by malicious character assasination and usually it's over a long period of time the victim being hounded systematically as opposed to randomly, that can actually be pretty harmful and is much harder to deal with than just saying "grow a pair and say it to my face" because even if you did say stuff like that the power of anon means cowards that do that have no real incentive to stop harrassing their victims. I'm not saying genuine wimps don't exist and it's not a good idea to grow a thicker skin sometimes, but there really is a point where people just go too far. Like you can negatively criticise something without being cruel about it. 1 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Scrumpy is cider made in the West Country of England,[1] particularly a band through Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, though it may also be found in Kent, Sussex and East Anglia. Scootalove 10,689 July 5, 2013 Share July 5, 2013 It probably did set a good lesson to show that cyber bullying is something that is no laughing matter, and that it causes people to commit suicide each year when they are being bullied over the internet. The lesson would have to be, no matter who you are you do not have the right to harass people over the internet. Misty Rose 3,216 July 5, 2013 Share July 5, 2013 I agree, it was kind of a way to raise awareness. Twilight lucked out, she was just laughed at, but not harassed or actually teased. Most people who suffer from cyberbullying get harassed pretty badly. I actually heard that this one person was being threatened via Facebook, the person threatening him said he was gonna burn his house. He actually did! Super scary! I hope I never suffer from that, ever!! My OC: http://mlpforums.com...pink-mist-r3726 TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF ME HERE!! Want a sig like this? Check out my thread! Twi Rubix 726 July 5, 2013 Share July 5, 2013 I figured they put Snips and Snails as Shimmer's slave just because they did the same thing with Trixie back in Season 1 as a reference of sorts. I never actually thought of it being a cyberbully message however. It could be that, but I'm still guessing it was a running gag for the two to slave away for the antagonist.
