So the purpose of this thread is to help spread the word of games that are either hard to come by, unknown, or banned to help spread the knowledge! There have been a lot of games that have been ignored due to not being popular or AAA worthy and this is your chance to share your favorite unknowns, banned, or unpopulars!

 

 

RULE OF ROSE

• Reason for Banning: Children in danger, hints of lesbianism, references to child abuse, violence against children, cannibalism, torture

 

Rule of Rose is by far one of my favorite Survival Horrors ever made. The game is all about insanity and it literally is wrapped in veils of madness, sadism, craziness, and psychological torture. The game is about a 16 year old girl who finds herself in front of an orphanage that has been taken over by a group of children (the oldest being 15, the youngest being 4). The only adults consist of a Maid and a Teacher.

 

 

The kids have created an elite hierarchy called the Aristocrat Club which follows the Rule of Rose. They are basically the kids who controls the entire orphanage and what they do is give new members tasks to follow. If the new members fail, they are tortured. Tortures include being prodded with a live, rabid rat, dumped in a sac while dangerous insects are poured inside, or drenched with water. Fail to many times and the new recruits are killed.

 

 

You are pit up against a chubby girl named Amanda and the tasks include things such as finding pages to nursery rhythms, capturing a blue butterfly, or locating a diary. Standing in your way are demonic monsters called "IMPS" who only you can see. These creatures seem to haunt both you and your dog and will stop at nothing to kill you.

 

 

 

The story is all based around insanity. As it progresses you learn more and more about the children, your relationship with them, and the origins of the Imps. it's a twisted, psychotic tale that will suck you in!
