The mare bites her lib, clearly struggling with herself. Eventually she seems to reach a decision. She beckons you in, once again the very image of a professional servant.

"Very well, please follow me to the drawing room."

You walk through a long hallway, the walls hung with ancient paintings and tapestries. You pass several doors, catching brief glances at dusty rooms and cloth covered furniture, before you are ushered into a spacious room with with large windows looking out on a very neatly kept garden.

A colossal dining table, big enough for  two dozen ponies, stands in the middle of the room, set for a single pony. The only other furniture are some ancient cupboards and a pair of couches under one of the windows, surrounded by piles of papers and canvases.

"I will inquire if her ladyship will see you. Please do not touch anything."

(Edited this whole thing, I wasn't happy with it at all)

"What the hay she go glaring at me for like that?" Discharge mumbled to himself after the old mare left the room.

He glanced around for a while, taking note of the scenery more than anything else. While nothing stood out to him directly, the one thing that did concern him was the single place laid at such a large table.

"Just a suggestion, don't eat anything here...offered or otherwise" he grumbled to the other ponies in the room, "Who do you propose this 'ladyship' is going to be anyway?"

"O-kaaay...anyone else getting a creepy vibe? Like, owner-is-a-ghost creepy?" Jabbermouth said as he circled the table. No food on the table would've been fine. A few dozen plates would've been fine. But just one? This was quickly turning into the beginning of a murder-mystery novel.

Jabber investigated the rest of the room, paying particular interest to the cabinets along the sides. "She said no touching, right? Does magic count as touching?...yes? Well, I know looking doesn't count."

On closer inspection you notice that most of the furniture, while spotlessly clean, is in need of repair: The goldleaf is flaking from decorative carving, several of the tapestries sport moth holes and several of the chairs seem somewhat wormeaten.

Indeed the only furniture that appears even remotely new are the the couches under the windows.

Most objects, even the silverware, is marked with what you assume to be the family's coat of arms: A six sided gem.

The papers strewn around the couches are filled with a variety of hoof- or horn written text, some of it in foreign languages. What little you can make out seems to concern outstanding payments.

After a couple of minutes, the door opens again, revealing a young unicorn mare, trailed by the butler.

The newcomer has the distinct appearance and bearing of Canterlot nobility, though it looks like she hasn't gotten much sleep in a while.

After a moment of hesitation, she addresses Silver Heart.

"A good day to you. My name is Pristine of House Gemstar. How can I help you."

(OOC: Sorry I haven't posted. Life and such.)

Silver Heart curtsies, "Thank you very much for agreeing to meet with us on such a short notice. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Pristine. I've heard much of House Gemstar from my Father. I am Silver Heart of House Silver. My companions and I have been asked to help with the search for Jasper Meadowgreen. Before we leave for Clover's Rest, we wanted to see if you may have any ideas or leads on where to start looking for him. We were told you were the last pony to be in contact with him."

Pristine almost throws herself at Silver Heart, her eyes filling up with tears.

"Oh, thank the heavens! I knew they would send somepony!"

She pauses then and manages to regain some of her composure.

"Oh, forgive me, but I've been sick with worry ever since he left for that wretched place.Oh, but that's not helpful at all to you, is it?"

She takes a few deep breaths in an effort to calm down.

"A week ago, we got the news that Jasper's father had passed away. I have never met him, but from what Jasper has told me, he must have been a dreadful sort, given to terrible mood swings. Jasper told me, the only reason he went to the funeral at all was for his late mother's sake and that he would write me every day.

He originally planned to only stay for the funeral and the reading of the will. But then he wrote that he would stay a day a two longer to do some research and that was the last thing I heard of him."

"Alright, a stallion with daddy issues goes missing at the same father's funeral. How interesting...perhaps dear old dad rose from the dead and did away with ole' Jasper?" Jabber sighed as no one laughed at his joke. "Ugh...okay. Is there anypony in Clover's Rest that we could talk to about Jasper's whereabouts?"

"Jasper wrote, that he had taken lodgings in some sort of Inn, please wait a moment."

She scuttles over to the couches an after a frantic shifting of papers, returns with a letter.

"I't says here the Griffon's Head. Dreadful name., is it not? But I suppose it is only to be expected from such a...rural town.Is there... anything else I could do to help you?"

"The Griffon's Head? I hope that doesn't set the standard for how the rest of the town." Silver Heart looked around at her companions before turning back to Pristine, "No I think we're done here. Thank you for your cooperation Mrs. Pristine. And don't worry, I'm sure Jasper is fine."

Diamond Dust took the map out of his saddlebag. After looking it over for a couple seconds, he saw a little dot on the map. "Would ya look at this? Griffon's Head right here. Shouldn't be too far away." He looked around at the rest of the group. "Do we need anything else here?"
