Path Finder laughed loudly. "Well that's not a response I was expecting. Listen lass, this is a battle that neither of us can win. There's too little information about them to have this debate. Unless you asked Discord himself, there's no way of knowin whether there are any other draconequus at the moment, if they're immortal, or if they just have long life spans. Now I would like to think this discussion was over." He had a smile on his face, but his voice was stern. He wouldn't tolerate these kids thinking he was a pushover.

 

Blaze's ears flattened against his head. It was interesting for him to hear his father argue with someone other than his sister. He still didn't enjoy listening to it. He continued to read, at his usual fast but analytic pace,

After finishing the chapter (I'm a fast reader) I start to grow weary and yawn *my Celestia I'm tired* I rest my head on my hooves and I look at my notebook. I look around the classroom and I reach for it. I open to the first page of the notebook. I place it on top of the text book and start drawing on it to kill time until Finder starts to talk again. *gonna be over soon*

She said that without looking up from her book. Starry finished up her reading and opened up her other book and continued to read it. She looked at Blaze then back at her book, it was hiding smile

Psych Ward looked down at the book.  1,000 years ago....  Psych Ward frowned.  This wasn't going to be as entertaining as she thought.  She read through the chapter quickly though, shutting her book when she was done.  She raised her head again, looking at the front of the class.

Steeleye hadn't felt like showing off or any such thing. The discussion that followed did intrigue him enough to cause him to speak. Even as he did so, he was using his magic to fast read the chapter. His eyes moved like a type writer as the pages flipped in a soft rustle of paper. "There has been speculation," he said in a voice that sounded soft but did not need to be raised in order to be heard. "That Discord and the draconequus species as a whole are all immortal. Though to call them a species or other similar words is a bit... too simple more or less. It has been theorized that Discord is in fact, the only one of his kind and will continue to be so unless he decides otherwise. This suggestion was drawn from the various statements of Princess Celestia, who seems to have known him on a personal basis and is immortal herself. I wouldn't desire to even begin to speak to just how he would create one like him, but a friend of mine is adamant that it is a similar process to how one becomes an Alicorn, such as our most recent Princess, Twilight Sparkle. Though to be more accurate he stated it was the exact, polar reverse." He did his best to not sound like a know it all, but it was a bit difficult for him. In a different scenario it would very likely be him teaching instead of being a student.

I fix my mane and i face plant into the book I wasn't asleep but i was resting my head *that's better* i begin to rest my eyes but i catch my self falling asleep and i pop my head up and look back at the book and close it. i rub my eyes and silently yawn. (OOC, how long do classes go on for? just would like to know) I look at the teacher impatiently, this felt like forever.

((Depending on the college and the class, either 50 minutes or an hour and ten. With 7 that's about 8 hours of classes with lunch. Maybe more like 45 minutes? That would be about 6 hours.))

Light Eye tried to pay attention to everything, but just got distracted reading the book. There was so much information here... specific dates, names and stories he had never heard of. She leafed through the book, reading quickly and absorbing all of the information. However, her ears perked up upon hearing the talk about draconequi. She raised her hoof and began speaking without waiting.

 

"Um, actually, sir? There's been theories that the draconequi are actually an ancient species and that Discord was simply one of many. After all, stories about trickster types with multifold bodies and magic, world-bending powers who use their abilities to twist nature and create havoc are up to 4,000 years old by all accounts. Many people theorize that Discord was either just an extraordinarily powerful one, the last of his kind, or the inheritor of their legacy and powerful."

Cinder had sunk closer to the desk, nose almost touching the book.

 

'1000 years ago... This lesson is taking a long time. I wonder whats next? I'll just follow the others and see where we go.' She thought, lacking any interest at all in the book at all - there was a reason it hadn't been opened before.

 

'I'm not sitting on my own next lesson, I'll see if theres anypony else looking bored. Don't know what we'll do but I guess it beats being bored on my own... Come on Cinder try and learn something...'

Path Finder's smile was strained. Blimy these students are stubborn. "Yes you are both correct. But the key word in both of yours' explanations were "speculation" and "theories". Just thought I'd point that out. ANYWAY this is not Draconequus class, this is Mythology, and I can see that you have all finished reading the chapter. Now it seems class is over. Doesn't a little debate make the time fly so fast?" He extended his hoof to the door. He had a slightly annoyed expression on his face that he tried to cover with a smile.

 

Blaze was about to get up, but he decided against and sat back down and pretended to scribble some words down on a note pad. He wanted to talk to his dad, so he was going to wait until everypony left.

"If the facts do not fit the theory, change the facts," Steeleye said in response, though he said it in quotation. "Apologies if I seem a little brusque Herr Light Ward. I may prove a bit of a tough student, even if I do not intend to be as such. Knowledge, information, and the pursuit of such, is what my cutie mark is -supposed- to represent. But just exactly -how- it represents such things is something I have yet to learn. Perhaps that I will always seek it but never find it -is- the point? At any rate, to say something is not true simple because it is theory is in itself a falsehood. Because theories, in their basic form, are simply facts waiting to be revealed whether they are true or false. I hope you enjoy your day, Herr Light Ward." He proceeded to pack up his things and leave the classroom, unless something else was said to him.

I spring up from my seat *finally over, I almost died from boredom!* I walk over to Star "hey Star? Want to walk to class together?" I make a friendly smile. *i seem to be really friendly around Star...it doesn't feel right* I try not to act too affectionate towards Star. "Wonder if the next class is more...exiting than this one..."

"Not so fast, Herr Steeleye!" Light Eye raced up to him and walked alongside him. "I'll need to stick close to you on this first day of school." she said. "After all, my dizzying intellect can be too much for some ponies to handle, and if anyone can respond as well as you can, I suppose that is a pony worth sticking around, wouldn't you say? Furthermore, how am I too annoy teachers with quite the same level of skill without a partner in crime. All of our classes are the same regardless, and I don't suppose you would mind too much sticking with me throughout the day. I have... a nasty tendency to get lost regardless," she noted shyly. "I... would appreciate the help in making sure that I don't get myself lost throughout the day."

Psych ward looked back, kind of wanting to walk with Blaze.  Their walk had been fun yesterday, different.  She shrugged getting up.  "Thank you for the lesson, Sir," Psych Ward said to the teacher.  She had filled her page with notes that she would spend the next few days looking over.  She carefully walked out of the classroom.

Blaze saw Psych get up and instinctively wanted to follow her. But he stayed in his seat until everyone had piled out ((Let's just say that happened)) He got up from his seat after shoving all his belongings into his neckcloth and walked over to his father.  "Interesting class today Dad." The pale gold pony sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Bloody hell they were horrible! Seemed to have no respect for me! Well that one lass did after a while. But then the other two had the never to question me right afterwards!" The unicorn stopped himself and looked at Blaze. Blaze nodded to his father and left the room. He still saw Psych and flew over to her. "Oh uh, hey Psych. Didn't expect my did to be the teacher of our first class."

"Sure and actually Pel, I really like mythology. The teacher is awesome, and actually really smart too. Unlike other teachers."

 

She smiled. This class was so much fun. As she trotted with Pel and got out the door she thanked Mr.Finder for the wonderful time in class today.

Psych asked, feeling a bit odd for not noticing.  "He seems nice.  Students never give the teachers enough credit."  She put her stuff back in her bag as she walked instead of putting it back in the last class.  That took too long for her.  "So what's our next our class."

Blaze nodded. "Yea he's pretty cool. I'd get that you wouldn't notice at first glance. Our only physical similarity is our eyes. Anyway I think we have Music next. I heard the teacher is... bubbly." Blaze had actually seen the Music teacher when he had been escorted into the school and she definitely was... something. ((I just realized it sounds like I'm foreshadowing that Derpy is the teacher is the next teacher XD She's not  ))

 

Dust walked by himself, checking to make sure Coal was still in his saddlebag. The little thing had been sleeping since he had met Cinder and the others. He had a goofy grin on his face. Music was his talent. He was excited for this one.

 

Remmy ended up not knowing who to talk to and deciding to walk alone. (Remmy's really hard to write for right now. I don't know why ))

Psych Ward smiled.  "Maybe students will have more respect for the teacher in that class," she smiled.  She as looking forward to this class.  She had played a bit of flute when she was little, hoping it would amount to something.  She also dabbled in piano a bit.

"I play the Flute" (OOC I really do) "I'm not that good at it, but I can still play it..." I was completely honest, "I may have brought it, but I don't play it much." I shrug at the thought.

Though the thought is certainly appealing. I do wonder though, if perhaps I should be quiet in my classes. This is my second run through here and with my... talents, I remember almost everything I learned here. The last Mythology teacher I had... respect was something that you gave him unconsciously. It was expected of you and you gave it. The new one, Path Finder, is a bit different. While certainly he is the authority in his class, he does not project himself well. Respect isn't something you punish people for when you have not earned it. Oh and..." He leaned over and nipped at her ear. "You might be careful how you tease me so Fraulein. I might just lose control."

Jeez Star, Pel's gonna have a heart attack from the adorableness. Blaze continued walking and found that the Music room was in sight.

Unconsciously shivers ran down Light Eye's back. "I'm..." she tried to find words, but shook her head and changed topic. "I'm with you on the teacher, there. There was so much information just for the taking, but all he cared about was getting through the class! You can't just lightly touch on draconequi, they are a major subject, no matter how many of them there are. And the suggestion of 'I don't care what you say I'm right and I'm going to ignore everything else?' Doesn't he care about education at all." She shook her head, disgusted. "Music is next. I'd like to see your pipes in action indeed."
