First attempt at drawing

So like the title says this is my first attempt at drawing something.

 

This is what I tried to copy

 

And here is my attempt at recreating it

 

If anyone can tell me what to improve on please tell me.

All you really need to do is anatomy a bit more, like a slimmer body, but other then that (and some minor coloring problems) its all good. I would suggest you not using the same marker or pen that your outline as the the hair. (to be a bit more accurate)

I guess I need to get some better equipment then. 

Next up will be Octavia, but that'll come tomorrow since it's almost 2 AM here.

Hey, this is a great job! You think you can make the lumps in her mane bigger though? It'd look more Luna-like and more flow-like.. other than that, it's great. :3

That's a good start! One suggestion; break whatever you draw down into simple shapes. For instance, Luna's head and plot are basically circles, while her chest is an egg-shape and her legs are a series of warped rectangles. Being able to see what you want to draw as a series of lines and shapes will make things so much easier for you

When you draw something, NEVER draw it with a cheap ball-point pen. It comes out looking like, well that. Otherwise, Luna is ok. A bit disproportionate, maybe, but ok.
