Mand'alor Dash 2,225 August 3, 2013 Share August 3, 2013 Their pompousness would lead to them call for the show to be cancelled instead of doing some actual parenting and deciding what is and isn't good for their children to watch. I agree with the sentiment here, but I should add that My Little Pony should always be good for children to watch. It's not the kind of show that a parent should have to make a judgement call on. 1 Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary. Check out A Century of Song if you like music from before this millennium. Envy 6,377 August 3, 2013 Share August 3, 2013 (edited) Homosexuality is an idea that I would not want to see in a show like this, and it likely won't ever happen. If the show's staff wrote an episode involving sexuality, the parents would get upset because the show is teaching their children about such a thing. As we all know, most parents with young children have a 'how dare you do this or that involving children and my child' attitude. Their pompousness would lead to them call for the show to be cancelled instead of doing some actual parenting and deciding what is and isn't good for their children to watch. While I agree that it would be interesting to see such an element explored in the show, it definitely won't and shouldn't happen so long as the show is originally intended for children. Oh, right... Sexuality should not ever be shown in the show, because it's a kid's show... Unless, of course, it's heterosexual sexuality, which has been shown in the show numerous times. That's the major problem I see with this. We've got to raise our next generation to be accepting of homosexuality. If we keep on promoting this "us and them" mentality, it's going to be hard. The fact that we consider heterosexuality an acceptable sexuality to show to our children, but not homosexuality sexuality is a problem in of itself. It's not like anybody is suggesting we show them actually having sex (or even hinting of it) or even making out. =/ Edited August 3, 2013 by Envy 4 Everything needs more woodwind! Regardless of the nature of the scene done to introduce the idea, people are going to be upset by it and people are going to call for revisions simply because they don't feel comfortable with the concept. I agree entirely that the world should learn to be more accepting of people regardless of their skin color, sexual preferences, etc. Some people just see the idea as too controversial. I agree that children should be taught tolerance for homosexuals, but that isn't the job for a television show about candy-colored ponies. Besides, the show has already tackled the general subject of tolerance in Bridle Gossip. There isn't much reason to revisit it, much less just to get more specific. akalink 163 August 5, 2013 Share August 5, 2013 I would like to see a days of future past kind of episode where Princess Twilight sends her daughter to the past only to face difficulty trying to get in contact with the younger version Twilight. Things like Pinkie Pie welcoming party, being solicited by the cutie mark crusaders and trying to hide her identity.
