  1. I wouldn't be surprised if next season was our last. To be honest, I wouldn't really mind. I'd assume the fandom would continue the storyline through fan fiction and fanimations, so it wouldn't really be a disaster. Hopefully they would reboot it though.
  2. I'm typically a very pessimistic and negative person overall, so my opinion on the matter might be a bit jaded to start with. I think the series, while having a few bad episodes here and there, has survived well overall. They have achieved a decent balance of fan service and actual series development by catering to bronies using the finales and premieres, and having more simple episodes in between. I'm sure, like with all shows, eventually it will lose its luster, but I think they have another season or two before that happens. The world is only as limited as the creativity of those writing for it.
  3. Am I the only one here that has an underlying fear that Commu-I mean Starlight is going to start being our main character?

I play it on occasion, yeah. At the moment I've got a small house with a husband and a wife who is expecting. The husband is a programmer and the wife is an aspiring music star. I'm really trying to focus on this one. In the past few goes I've never really gotten past the first family.
  5. Sure. To me, the enjoyment I get from some moments of the show outweighs the cringiness.
  6. I don't so much have unpopular opinions as I do just always negative ones. A lot of the show causes me cringe, but I still enjoy it so I keep watching. @.@
  7. The episode and the message it delivered were both fine. The animation was fine. The new character was fine. But, and I'm trying to put this as politely as I can, the 'music video' slapped in the center of the episode was, uncontested, the most cringe-inducing thing I have ever seen. That is exactly what those who oppose bronies point out when they want something to mock us for, and it should not be encouraged.
  8. This episode was very unique. I don't know if it was just me, but the segment where Shy and Twilight were hiding from the two parties attacking each other felt very similar to older cartoons I enjoyed. It was a good feeling and this episode gave me a nostalgia attack in that vein. I also enjoyed the fact that they were unaware Twilight was a princess. A small detail, but a fun one nonetheless. EDIT: Also, foalio.
  9. Why do the active threads all just seem like re-hashed versions of older threads?

  10. This one is going to be a rant post, be warned. I can understand people who can afford it getting such an early purchase of Fallout 4, I suppose. What I can't understand is people who I've known to be poor or down on their money scraping together all the funds they can just to get it. It's a little frustrating to me, mainly due to the fact that Fallout 4 having such a successful launch means that Bethesda will extend the period of time that the game is really expensive. Personally, I have more than enough money to afford the game, but I don't see a value of sixty dollars in it. I would rather wait until the game's price drops, but with people losing their minds and buying it all over, it means my wait for the game will be extended from the anticipated six months to several years. I know I can't really complain about it; Bethesda was successful with their marketing and hype-building, and are now reaping the rewards of it. I suppose I'll just have to get used to being patient and waiting for people to get over their annoying hype-fits.
  11. Naughty Ninjas was a really good one, it had some funny scenes in it, and it also hits pretty close to home on my career choice. Great episode all around. So far, the only episode this season that seemed out-of-place for me was Tweek x Craig. It just didn't sit right with me.
  12. You can prefer the original all you want -- the two are different shows. One was intended for an older audience and one was not.
  13. Disregard adorableness -- consider story details. > Ending shoehorned in to force the idea that Discord isn't being an evil manipulative bastard. > He is though.
  14. She has an appearance that could be considered more sexual than most characters in the series. She has heavily lidded eyes, sharp little poke-out teeth, and a slender and narrow body. It's somewhat similar to the appeal of Luna (who is also liked mostly due to the visual appeal). It isn't because either of the characters have any actual substance to them (Luna = I'm a mentor. Chrysalis = I'm evil) but because their physical appearance is generally considered attractive. EDIT: The fact that she looks like something straight out of a Hot Topic doesn't hurt either.
  15. It seems like it has been decades since I first became a 'brony'. While I don't necessarily agree that the term 'brony' is right for me today, it was definitely much more suitable back then. People often find themselves upset at the fact that I don't agree the brony title is appropriate for me, but it just isn't. Brony is a term reserved for someone who is in it mostly for the fandom in my eyes, and I'm just not really in it for that reason anymore. I used to spend my time trying to become more involved in the fandom; joining projects, animating, writing, and so on. None of these avenues ever provided me with what I saw as significance. I wanted to be fandom famous, and that was the wrong way to approach it. In the past, I was not nearly as reserved with my enjoyment of the show. -- It was around 2011 when I first started to learn of the fandom. At that point, I spent most of my time as an admin on a TF2 achievement server (back when those still existed). Eventually, given that this was around the time the brony uprising began, a steady flow of them managed to find their way into our humble server. I first noticed the stuff after having to remove a few inappropriate sprays and even some normal ones for being pony-related. I never really disliked bronies, but the imagery was enough to irritate me. Eventually, it came about that one of my superiors was a brony as well. He begged me for days to check out the 16th episode of the 1st season. After constantly being pressured to watch it, I eventually caved in. It was better than I expected, and the show was actually fairly decent. From there, I watched all of both seasons (at the time, season three was not a thing). I was impressed, and at that point considered myself a brony. -- As humble a story as any, yes, but over the years my respect for the title 'brony' seemed to dissipate. I don't know whether it was age, disinterest, or what, but it just didn't feel the same to be a member of the fandom that extensively. Don't get me wrong, I still discuss things on the forums and chat about episodes with fans -- I just don't have the same desire to be involved in projects and claim to the world that I am a brony as I once did. For now, my 'bronyism' sticks entirely to watching the show and chatting with other like-minded fans.
  16. Given that this blog is more about me and less about the persona that I present when it comes to the main forum, I've chosen a more visually appealing font and color choice. These changes to you may seem irrelevant, but to me they are significant and crucially important. This blog will serve as a way for the reader to look more deeply into me than I would normally allow otherwise; a sort of porthole for the masses to get a better look at the interior of the ship that is 'me'. I suppose a good question to start with would be who I am. While I don't intend to divulge more than is necessary for the context of a blog, I will tell you some basic information. I'm a current college student studying to enter the field of Law Enforcement. I'm a gamer, and as I hope you already knew, a brony. When it comes to that last aspect, as you may have already knew, I am pretty passive. In both my online and real life personalities, the show does not often boldly display itself upon my chest, literally or figuratively. When I was younger, it used to - I would wear shirts and use icons that displayed proudly to the world the fact that I was a brony. In my years since I entered into the life of a teenager, this changed. I stopped wearing those shirts and icons in favor of more normal attire. This isn't because I decided that I do not like the show; quite the opposite. I love the show to death. I care deeply when I perceive an episode to be good or bad. Hell, I still have lengthy discussions about them with a friend of mine after each episode. I have argued this point again and again on the forums and internet in general: bronies will never gain any respect by forcing what they enjoy down the throats of others. It is an ideology that I stand by firmly, and don't intend to flex on. You can enjoy the show as much as you want, but showing it off is unnecessary and invites conflict. As expected, the brony aspect of my life has already taken up a large percentage of this post, as it likely will with future blog posts. It is the theme of this website, and it seems only fitting; but bronyism isn't all I want to talk about with this blog, and in this initial post I have only divulged a modicum of who I am. To use a common phrase, 'this is only the tip of the iceberg'. That iceberg, of course, is me.
  17. Jack happens to be Daxter's friend.
  18. I think I struck it lucky when it comes to college. The schedule is really relaxed and open and while at the moment I'm taking core classes, my next three semesters are all filled with job-related education courses. Literally none of them are core classes after that, meaning I'll be taking subjects only related to my interests.
  19. What is weird is determined by the individual; it is a very subjective concept. However, I'm sure that pretty much everyone (outside this fandom, of course) agrees that grown men who sleep with pony plushies are neither attractive nor very normal. It is excusable for those 12 and under (though still odd), but it gets a bit intolerable after that point. Again, not trying to judge - that is just how people feel about it. I don't mean to be a downer or anything, but this fandom is not going to change that. People thought it was weird before, and they will still think it is weird after this fandom has gone.
  20. Not everything needs an in-universe explanation. It was just a design change to make her look less silly.
  21. It's okay to do a thing associated with continuity, but after a certain point it gets to them just saying 'hey, it's that thing we did. Remember that?!'.
  22. I'm fairly certain that was the intended reaction. Also, am I the only one who finds it really damn annoying that they mismatched the proper order of Hearthswarming and Scare Master? I don't really feel like looking at fan episode orders - it should just be apparent when the episodes take place in relation to one another.
  23. At least it wasn't Justin Bieber right? ... Right?

This is a good reason why people getting angry with Team Fortress 2 confuses me. Sure, they charge for tickets to certain events and make a small profit by charging for items, but 90% of the time those items are purely cosmetic. The few weapons they do charge for don't have any inherent advantage over others - the play style is simply different. With that game, win or lose ratio all depends on how good the individual player is, and how well the team in question cooperates.

To be honest, most of the games (at least in the mobile / app market) that I would consider the 'worst offenders' are also the ones that do the worst playerbase wise. They usually aren't unique games, most of the ones I would consider really bad are obvious ripoffs of already existing and more successful games (Clash of Lords, War of Clans, and Star Wars: Commander, for instance). Perhaps I'm just really good at distancing myself from actually terrible Pay 2 Winz, but most of the worst offenders have just never caught my interest or I've never tried them.
