  1. Law Enforcement classes are so interesting - 90% of the class is the instructor telling stories about his time on the force.

  2. Unfortunate though that is, it is likely very true. Given the possessive nature of some of the fans of this show, I'm sure nearly any pairing would cause a category 5 shitstorm to blow through the community.
  3. A children's show is no place for sexuality in either direction. That is more a topic for the parents to explain to their kids, and you have to imagine how pissed off they would get if there was any hint of a love relationship in the series. It's more trouble than it is worth.
  4. BRING BACK KING SOMBRA. He was such an underused and short cut villain, which is totally stupid. He had such potential, especially with that Fear Door. I was hoping they would have him return, and trick Twilight into using dark magic, causing her to become addicted to its use.
  5. I've faced several mini-bosses, but I like to imagine that my true 'final boss' would be a criminal I have to stop in order to save someone as a police officer when I get hired.
  6. Yes, rather than engage in intelligent debate, insist that the topic is beneath you. Hats off to you, friend.

  7. That is not necessarily always true. A story written about a video game franchise, whether popular are not, becomes well acclaimed not due to the fact that it is associated with that game, but because it is a well-written story. One can only imagine how many fan fictions are written about every new video game and television series released each year. As you said, length is irrelevant to the story's quality. The fact that it is longer than most good stories has no baring on its overall quality. To be honest, it has been a while since I have read the main fic, so I'm not 100% confident this one has an explanation. Not to seem like an apologist for the story, but it could be explained either through artistic license, or they were developed before or after the dropping of the megaspells due to the increase in zebra-pony conflict.
  8. Fandom fame isn't really a goal you should strive for, to be honest. You have to look at it from an outside perspective to see what is so odd about it. You are trying to get fame and attention from a group of people whose defining characteristic is following a children's television show vehemently. While I don't mean to insult the more devout bronies, that is a goal that isn't as socially excusable as most.
  9. Three chapters does not for a sufficient judgement make, my child.
  10. The characters are aging as time passes. Voice deepening is a natural side-effect of age. We should be happy that the voice actors are awesome enough to respect continuity is such a fashion.
  11. Back in my day as a ... fan fiction reviewer ... I spent a lot of time rifling through sub-par stories; that said, I would say I have a certain advantage when it comes to determining the quality of certain submissions. The two most painful stories I had ever read were My Little Dashie and Parliament of Dreams. You have to understand, this is coming from a person who read Cupcakes and Cheerilee's Garden and considers both stories more tolerable simply because they mix in a little humor between torturing their reader. Note: 80% sarcasm
  12. I know that it is likely what the person intends to happen when they do it, but I absolutely hate taunting or t-bagging in video games, not because it bothers me because I lost, but rather because of how inane and stupid it looks - to the point of being game breaking.
  13. Well, I've been a fan of the show since about half-way through season two. One thing I can tell you that is most difficult to fans who are really enthusiastic over the show is the wait between seasons. I would definitely suggest finding one or two other shows to follow in order to curb your desire for pastille horses. My go-to show for the off-season is Star Wars: Rebels, but that's just me
  14. I often find that appropriateness, both in time and place, is critically important to the success of a dark joke.
  15. I'm not sure if everyone here has heard of JonTron, so I guess I will just refer to it as absurd humor. The humor that lacks seriousness to the point of being completely ridiculous is what gets me laughing.
  16. The obvious references to real-world communism I'll give you, but children would usually interpret Twilight's freakout in Lesson Zero as just goofy behavior that would fit in a cartoonish world. I can attest to this as I have nieces that agree with that statement.
  17. I would probably put either Troll 2 or Poultrygeist at the top of my list. Poultygeist is the much more gross of the two, but it was still pretty terrible in my eyes.
  18. My parents are aware to an extent. While they don't understand fully the show or its background, they know I draw my little ponies and have t-shirts of it.
  19. Alternating brown and black, depending on the situation and adrenaline. Poopy brown.
  20. "Your best likely isn't good enough." - AngryHorse Just who is AngryHorse, and why should I care, you ask? Well, you probably shouldn't care. He is a character that I designed back in the day when I was still drowning in poorly written fan fiction. The concept behind him is that he is an isolationist and quiet unicorn pony that lives in an apartment shack in Ponyville. He makes a living by selling heavily biased newspapers that he writes, and reviewing literature composed by others. He is known mostly for his harsh and often times unnecessary criticism of the work of others, frequently pointing out things as errors that most would consider things that can be ignored. He is extremely arrogant and self-centered, but he can be kind and forgiving at points as well. He is willing to accept any and all questions (so long as they follow site rules) and they can be in-universe or out (his opinions on real world events are likely to have a bit of a slant with my own opinion tossed in). Have fun, and ask away!
  21. The usual way that people attempt to avoid claims is through Fair Use. Typically this means that the person using the footage has to provide some critique over it (because fair use lists commentary and critique as accepted exceptions to claims). If your video has already been claimed against, you will need to either figure out which policy your video is being claimed against and whether or not it is accurate. If it is not accurate, submit a counter-claim against them for YouTube to review it. If it does violate the policy, there is not much else you can do aside from altering the video and re-uploading it to meet their guidelines.
  22. Rainbow Dash's fangirling has officially gotten to the point that it is so overbearing that I consider it cringe-worthy. I can understand feeling a lot of respect and admiration for someone, but you would think that such a thing would eventually develop out of over-the-top squealing and squirming to a nod of the head in respect. I still don't like the idea of every single guy falling for Rarity's 'charm' nonsense, either. It would be nice for once to see someone give her a funny look and scoot away from her when she tries it.
  23. I like to look at it from a gaming perspective. Suppose you create a character and max level them to the end game, so that character has all the super powerful weapons and abilities, and even the toughest enemy can be knocked out with the flick of a finger. That absolute power gets boring after a while, so we create a second character to go through the struggle to get to the top again. It is the conflict, and the risk of failure that brings our intrigue. That is why so many people like Luna - she isn't perfect yet.
  24. She definitely is not mentally handicapped, let's put it that way. I more see her as just a care free person who does not see intellectual pursuits as very interesting. Her main interest is having fun and telling jokes, and that's all she needs in her life.
  25. Java is the preference of one of my programmers, but he is willing to use C++. If we use Unity, he prefers C#. We are open to discuss this, however, once people join the team.
