[The Ponyville Critic 304]

Fire Horn went down an alleyway. Trying to find a shortcut to somewhere they may be. His friends are probably together, trying to find him and his son. He comes to a river, and on the other side is Grand, the detective and a zebra??? Ghost also stood behind them all, looking rather threatening.

"Hey guys, we're over here!" Fire Horn yelled, loud enough for them to hear, yet not so loud as to draw attention.

Carrick just gave a sigh. Great, now the sword has control of Ninja Pony here. Carrick could only muster a defensive stance, knowing full well this was a suicide mission for him. "Grand, I'll give you the some time. Just try to do as fast as you can." Carrick turns to see the unicorn once more. "Hey, buddy. I don't know you but can you give us a hoof here?" Carrick replied, hoping he realized the urgency of the situation.

"what? I cant do it right now, I cant! Ill just knock myself out, and this spell looks complicated" she says, clearly getting frightened. "fire, Do this spell quickly!" she said, tossing it over to him. It was a tough spell, she wasnt sure she could it fully energized. "you need to do it before he... loses it!" she says, backing up

Fire Horn grabbed the paper in a levitation field, then read it faster than usual.

"I need the sword to remove the curse, where is it?" Fire Horn shouted.

Fire Horn knew the situation was desperate and they didn't have time to wait. "HURRY!" he shouted at them.

While this was all going on, a battle was going on inside of Ghost's mind.

Ghost: Quit hurting them! They're my family!  I love them!
Spirit or the curse: No! You'll kill them now. You know why? Because I can make you do it!

Ghost and the spirit began to duke it out. The spirit slashed at Ghost many times, hurting him greatly. But, at the last moment, Ghost catched him off-guard and disarmed him. At that moment, he slashed at the spirit's torso, bringing it down.

Spirit: No matter... within three days... you'll be mine. You're free to go... for now.

At that moment, Ghost returned to normal and the sword had lost control. Ghost then falls to the ground, unconsious.

[Solana 2]

Solana watches. Sword? A curse? What the buck is going on with these ponies? Wait. Was that a dragon?! The lanky zebra huffs out before her ears fall back. Man, these ponies seem more and more trouble as she figures out about them. But, Solana has to admit- they ll seem super cool and pretty swish. But this chump with the demon gravel voice is kinda scary. Not as swish. Slinking back, the filly frowns wide.

Grand looked at the unconcious Ghost. looked like he gained them a little more time. "We are safe for now Fire. We can look at the spell later. Right now we need to find somewhere to rest up for a little bit." she said, turning to the young filly. "take us somewhere safe please"

Fire Horn levitated himself over the river, not knowing what was in it was the reason.

"That was, well, fun." Fire Horn stated sarcastically. "Who's this?" Fire Horn asked, pointing at their new arrival. "Where did you find her? Was she just wandering about on her own?"

"Aw, geez." Carrick walked over to Ghost as he laid on the ground. He picked the stallion over onto his back. "Well, wherever we're going. We better find a place to keep him from beating eaten." Carrck replied. "Then we can start looking for food and water." The detective groaned a bit, feeling the extra weight on his hindlegs was getting to him.

"This is Solana, and yes she was alone. She seems to know alot about the city though." she said. "sorry about puting that pressure on you. I just did a spell im not sure how I did, and didnt have near enough energy to try it myself" she said, taking the spell and putting it in her saddlebag. "we can study it once we find somewhere safe. Im surprised we havent attracted any trotter yet"

Ghost then wakes up. He lost all memory of what just happened. All he could remember was facing off against a spirit that looked vaguely like Zycrin. "Wha... what happened?" Ghost then realized he was being carried. "Well... this is awkward," He then gets back on his hooves and walks beside Grand. "So... what exactly happened?"

[Solana 2]

"Hey, I can speak for myself, you know!" Solana pipes up to the other unicorn, her eyes narrowed. "I found her-" The filly motions to the dark red mare. "And the rest of you guys just kinda flocked in." The little mare lifts her head high and then says; "Follow after me, then. There's a boarded up house just down the street." And with that, the filly take off down the street with little regard of who can keep up or follow.

Starburst landed beside Fire Horn and Solana. Seeing Solana was probably the same age as he was, decided to strike up a conversation.

"Hello, my name is Starburst, this is my dad. What's your name?" Starburst looked happy, he must have been laughing at Tempest's wings.

"You went nuclear and try to attack us. Though seems like your struggles against yourself seem to have been victorious and here you are, still alive and cursed." Carrick said to Ghost. Carrick went on to follow Solana. Whatever she was doing, hopefully it won't be some type of ambush. With a weaken unicorn and a pony who's just nuclear, and a detective with pain all over his body. It wouldn't be a fair fight.

Grand grumbled to herslef "That  thing is such a little brat" she said under her breath. She smiled at Ghost. "its nice to see you not crazy again. Sorry about the whole spell thing. Itll take awhile before I can do any magic at all" she said, rubbing her head. "um, another thing I should ask before we get into another predicament. would you mind trying to staighten up this leg? i bent it when I... jumped off a roof. "she said the last part quietly

[Solana 2]

Solana blinks as the alicorn keeps pace beside her. "Uh. Hi." She seems kind of dumbstruck at first before she regains her 'cool' and says; "My name's Solana. I like your wings. They're pretty kickin'." The zebra offers a smile to him before turning suddenly at a seeming random house. It is lonely and tall, windows boarded up and the front stairs are taken out. Hopping up onto a trashcan, she leaps the short distance onto the porch. "Here we are. We just should do a sweep of the area and kill anything that was smart enough to roam in here before us." She says it plainly as if the idea is not horrific at all. The little zebra waits for everyone there, eyes scanning also for anything else they might have attracted.

Tempest glanced at the sword and could tell something was off about it. "So, what do we do with this?" He asked. The cyan pegesus then formed a aura sphere in his hoove. "I could just easily get rid of it so that thing doesn't come back and posses Ghost again."

Ghost smiled. He was happy that Grand was so understanding. "I might. If you still have the mechanical leg that me and Chris made for you, I could take a look at it once we get to a safe area. I'll make it even better than before, in fact!" He then turned to the detective. "The sooner we get rid of this thing's curse, the sooner I can stop going nuclear."

grand hopped into the building. "This isnt just any ordinary spell, its gonna take alot of work to get this thing working. It might even take the two of us to get this thing working. Its pretty complicated, and its supposed to be used with some incantation, but luckily we can do it with just magic. Itll just be a little harder. Buy if you dont mind, I would like to just relax for a bit." she said before laying down and taking out the picture of her sister. good, it was still there.

"Thank you, they're my mother's." Starburst replied, he looked up at the house. "Looks... safe?"

Fire Horn walked up behind him. "Well, it's safer than being out in the streets. Come on, we should probably go inside before we attract more attention than we're worth." Fire Horn said.

Carrick replies to Tempest's words. "Who's the say that it destroy the sword won't posses Ghost? Yes, there might be a connection between the sword and Ghost, but maybe it's already posses Ghost already? Maybe just holding the sword just increase the strength. It would be better to hold on to it and sees what we can do with it." Carrick deducted. 

 

Solana gave a place where could hold up. Place is boarded up and it's not in terrible condition. All we have to do is sweep the area. "I'll give a quick look around." Carrick replied, walking on the side of the house and towards the back.

Ghost turned to Tempest with the sword in it's sheathe. "This was the sword of the deadly assassin and my former arch-enemy, Zycrin. The sword was cursed by him to only serve as his weapon. He pretty much gave the weapon a mind of it's own. Anyone who even dared touch it would be under Zycrin's rule. Now that he's dead, the sword has decided to take me over, as it wants revenge for his old master."

[Solana 2]

"It's safe enough." Solana reassures Starburst. "I've been here plenty of times, and I've only once almost got a bite in me." She grins a little before moving inside. It is pleasant to be in a safe and familiar setting, but unnerving to be around so many ponies. There defiantly is a different vibe when you travel in groups. You have to listen to what others want. Can't just do what you want. Reminding herself of this, the little zebra tilts her head before carefully looking over everypony. Taking them in and remembering what they look like. Then trying to put names to them. Man, this group was confusing.

Ghost stands before the old building. "Huh. Umm... nice place, I guess. Guess we'll have to make do." Ghost enters the building and places the leg on the table. He then begins to work on it. He added a more sturdy metal to it, assuring that it wouldn't bust as easy as it did when Grand accidentally broke it. Ghost then walks up to Grand's room's door and knocks on it. "Hey, Grand, I have a surprise for you!"

Grand hobbled over to Ghost. "wow, that was speedy!" she said, attaching the leg. It felt alot more rigid. It should work nicely" Thank you" she said politely. "I think Im ready to start learning the spell" she said, pulling it out. "but I wont be able to do it right away. Maybe Fire should try and learn it too, just in case" she said, reading the words closely.
