"Not a problem, Grand. We'll get that plant in no time! C'mon, Hearth. Let's go!" Stephan dashed out of the cave. He suddenly felt even colder. Having no jacket just made it all worse. He tried to ignore it, though.

"Alright, Hearth. We need to find this plant and get it back within 20 minutes. We gotta hurry!" Stephan exclaimed. "Can you keep up with my mach speed?"

Hearth nodded and waved his hoof at Stephan. "Have ya even worked on a farm a day in yer life? This here is normal fer me." Hearth said before running out into the substantial snowstorm. "This plant might as well be call ironius oxymorus. Ha." He said already dragging his hooves. The storm seemed to be getting worse.

Stephan ran at mach speed alongside Hearth. The words of Missy echoed through his head.

-It's a plant that gives off a faint glow...-

"How are we gonna find a faint glow when we can't see fifteen feet in front of us?"

-a plant which is frozen at the tips and appears in frozen places.-

The duo stopped at a frozen mountain. "The plant must be up there." He speculated.

Hearth thought about the plant they were looking for, he then remembered something extremely important. "Whatever ya do, do not try and grab the plant by the leaves, ya have t' hold it by the roots or with magic. It's hotter than flames." He said as he tried to climb up the mountain. 'Ice' he thought to himself.

Missy began to cough very violently, the cold was piercing every fibre of her being, she was in almost constant pain. "Don't... worry Fire, they'll... come back... with the plant and... everything will... work itself... out." Missy said.
"I know, i trust Stephan, he wouldn't let you die..." Fire said.

"Whatever you say, Hearth." Stephan began running along the mountain's side with ease. He made sure not to stop, as he didn't want to slip on the ice and crack his skull. Now would be the absolute worse time to do it. The duo got up the mountain and saw a glow in the distance. "Dude, there's the plant!"

Hearth ran up and grabbed the plant with his magic, lifting it very slowly. He pulled on the plant, and heard an audible crack. He continued to pull, being careful all the while. The plant came loose, and a sharper, longer crack soon followed, along with some rumbling. "Aw shit, ah thought that would happen. We need t' run now." He said sprinting down the mountain. It was collapsing.

Stephan jumped down and began running down the mountain."Give it all you got, Hearth! Full speed ahead!" He began to pick up the pace. Rocks began falling down the mountain, but the duo was dodging them with ease. They got down the mountain safely and got to a point where they wouldn't be crushed. They began running back to the cave. "Is that plant still okay?" Stephan asked.

Hearth kept running and spoke between pants. "Yeah... Ya think... Ah'm an... Idiot?" He said not even stopping, bounding over the snow as though it weren't there. He could barely make out the cave as the snow in the air thickened. He slid into the cave, almost not stopping. "We got the plant ." He said holding it up before collapsing.

Grand grabbed them quickly before throwing both if them into the bowling water. "How long do we boil them together for?" Grand asked, panic evident in her voice. Her eyes were wide as she sat next to the fire, stirring the plants together.n"your gonna be okay missy, I promise" she couldn't have two deaths on her conscience.

Missy's condition was worsening, she was breathing, but only just. Thus, she was unable to speak or move.
"You'll have to use your own judgement, Grand, just boil until you think it's ready." Missy's pulse was getting slower, the cold reaching her heart. "Don't worry, you'll be fine, you know why? Because i love you, i do..." Fire Horn began to stroke her mane whispering "love you".

Grand decided she couldn't wait any longer. She held the bowl upto Missy's mouth, forcing the liquid into her system. " oh celestia, please work" she said, forcing missy to drink all of it. If she failed, missy could either freeze to death, or burst into flames. She prayed she had done it cirrectly

In the mean time...

Wait, where was Zeta?
Somehow along everything that was happening, he had disappeared out into the cold weather. He went to go explore out for a new shelter, which was closer to a shrine, but with no luck around he had become lost. His body heat had slowly gone down, even with the armor on protecting him from the wind and all it didn't help as much from the metal becoming cold.

Was he going to die out here? Was he going to give up and let himself go?

No, not without a fight.

Zeta kept on going on, walking through the seemingly endless snow only being able to see a few feet in front of him. In fact he walked around the cave a few times without realizing it, and kept going on.

Eventually, his hooves turned blue from the cold snow, as he collapsed on the ground only to see nothing, but yes he fell just 10 feet away from the cave and was slowly being covered by the snow that blew along. It would be a very rare chance for them to find him now, but he still held on to his hope..

Here, and for what?

Fire Horn looked down at Missy, hopingbfor some sort of sign that she was still alive.
"Love...you...too." Missy mumbled, eyes opening slowly, the improvised potion did it's work and Missy was alive. "I'm still tired, let me sleep."
Fire smiled and turned to Grand.
"Thank you, don't know what we'd do without you." Fire said.

Stephan awaited the outcome. "Please don't die, Missy. Not after all..." Stephan felt like crying, but he didn't. He tried to gold back the tears. The feeling went away when he saw that Missy was alive and well again. "Yahoo! Awesome!"

 Stephan then looked outside the cave, only to see Zeta lying in the cold. He ran outside and brought Zeta in the cave. "You guys still have some more of that stuff?"

Fire Horn looked over at Zeta.
"That, Grand, is Frostbite, we need to act quickly or he'll have to have his leg amputated, check his leg, if the fur has become stiff, then we're already too late." Fire yelled.

Missy had a dream, about exploding colorful zebras, it made dream Missy chuckle.

" I know i have something for that" she said, her saddlebag was strapped on so she immediately picked up a fern warm to the touch. "This should warm up the leg and heal the frostbite" she said, placing the fern around his hoof. It was freezing cold, but it shouldn't need to be removed. They didn't need two amputee unicorns in the group

"F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F" Was the only thing Zeta could say when entering inside, but thankfully Stephan could carry him inside even with his armor on. There wasn't much else he could do now but lie in pain and wait for what came next.

Stephan smiled. It seemed like Grand was taking it well from there. He sat down, leaned his back to the wall, took his jacket, and crossed his legs. He then began to daydream. He saw a completely rebuilt Equestria, where ponies were walking and talking in the streets. And all Stephan cared about was running through the plains and taking a nap while basking in the sun, not having a single care in the universe.

Missy began to shiver a little bit, seeing this Fire Horn relit the fire and sat next to her.
"Fire?" Missy asked. "Can i have some tea with the wabbajacker, that guy with the glasses? You know who i mean." Missy lay her head back down, with Fire now trying to keep her warm.

Hearth was leaning back against the wall of the cave. He took his hat off, revealing his long black mane. "Ya know Grand, I might not've been around long, but based on what ah've seen, ah'm not sure what yer group would do without you." He brushed his mane and undid his bandana. He was tired. "Plus, it's probably thanks t' you that ah wasn't killed on sight anyways."

Grand felt zetas pulses. They were getting better by the minute. She let out a sigh of relief. "He'll be fine. Though a blanket would be useful" she said, wishing they had packed some. She replaced the old fern with a new one, noticing she was getting low on medicinal plants. She would have to find more once the blizzard stopped. Grand smiled at hearth. "That means a lot, thank you. Though if we hadn't lost our original healer I wouldn't know any of this" she had a look of sadness for a second, but it was gone as soon as it came

Eventually Zeta regained his talking abilities and looked up to Grand, letting a small smile out. "I went out to search for, new shelter... Came back with nothing..~ And i'm sorry for abandoning you Missy, it's just things on my mind- *cough cough*"

 

He did that for a bit and nearly threw up in the process, luckily holding it all back in before it could come up.

Hearth took notice of this and paused. "Ya know, if theirs anythin' yer needin' t' talk about, ah've always got an ear open." He says with a look of curiosity. "It might help to let yer thoughts out, rather than bottlin' em up." He looks out at the blizzard, he was hoping that it would clear up soon. "It looks like I'll be stickin' around fer awhile anyway."

Stephan yawned and woke up from his daydream. "Yeah... that's what I hope it's like..." He said to himself in a happy tone. He got up his feet and walked over to Grand, who was still treating Zeta. "See? I told you your time would come, didn't I?" Stephan said. "You are an essential to the group, Grand. I hope now you realize that."
