"Oh my celestia, Moon what are you doing!?!?" She cried, pulling the sheet from the bed and wrapping it tightly around th wound. There was fear in Grand eyes. "We need to get you to the hospital, don't you try to stop me" she said, picking her up with her magic and running out the door, careful not to run into Sirius

Caramel laughed. "Sure, mr. Holmes, you look quite dapper indeed" she said in a cheesy accent

Sirius was way ahead of the two, already at the hospital and quickly came into the room. "Everyone, Cake time! Woohoo, so what did I miss?" She said while laying it down on top of a table.

 

Moon was struggling to get free of Grand's magic, but couldn't do it. "Grand, let me suffer in happiness! Don't you know that my life, it's ruined now..? DIDNT YOU SEE THE NOTE SAYING I'M GETTING A DIVORCE!?!

"Nothing is worth taking your life over, nothing. You'll thank me later, but you'll hate me with a passion until you realize it" she said, running into the hospital. A nurse quickly put her on a bed, and Grand followed behind. " now you aren't allowed to scare me like that ever again. I'm not going to leave until you promise me that"

 

Caramel smiled at Sirius, but knew something must have happened for Grand not to show up. "Not much Sirius, thanks for bringing the cake"

Stephan thought about his ability to jump at incredible heights. Is that how he got up there? He can only jump to about twenty feet without support from platforms. Bah, whatever. Stephan then heard frantic screams from the halls.
"Hold on a second, Dash. I gotta check this out." Stephan jetted out of the room and through the halls., where he saw Grand carrying Moon with her magic. "What the heck? Moon, what happened??"

Glint looked over at Sirius. She didn't say anything. (SHE'S ONE DAY OLD!)

Starburst heard the screams.

"Good, a distraction, everypony, go check that out." Starburst said, still drinking the whiskey.

"Sounds like Moon, and Grand." Missy said.

 

"Okay, I'll just stay here...." Dash fell silent and stared at a wall.

Moon heard Stephan call out and barked back at him. "NOTHING HAPPENED! Just good ol, fashioned.. Divorce, heheh.. I like it, A LOT NO! LET ME BE GRAND!!"

She tried flailing again, but it was no use. The cut that ran from her hoof to her stomach had weakened her dramatically as she began to pant while losing some blood.

Grand nodded to the nurse, who then wheeled her into an operation room. She turned to Stephan as the door closed. "It's fine Stephan, everything's under control. Stitching that up will take a good half an hour, let's go see Starburst, I still have to wish him a happy birthday"

 

Caramel looked at the panicked room, and immediately turned to Sirius. "Hey, you must be pretty good with magic. Why don't you show me something cool" she said, hoping to distract the little filly

"Yeah, I don't believe you've met Glint yet, I'm sure she'd love to see you." Missy said, Glint laughing, Missy swore she head an awkward laugh come from Glint but that must just have been somepony else.

"I really love you, Caramel, you're like the most beautiful mare ever." Starburst said.

Steel walked out and headed to rainbowdashs room "hey dash how you feelin" steel asked as he walked in he began to dig in his bag ((endless bag like pokemon)) he found what he was looking for but he didnt pull it out yet insted he waited for rainbowdash to respond

Stephan shook his head. "Grand, that wasn't 'nothing.' Moon was bleeding out from her hoof to her stomach. What could've caused her to want to undergo such an insane action to herself?" He asked in a worried tone. Moon screamed at him like she was threatening to kill herself.

"We can talk later, let's just go see Starburst, please. I have until Moons fixed to celebrate, that's what I want to focus on right now" she said tiredly.

 

Caramel smiled. "That's very nice of you Starburst, you're an incredibly lightweight pony aren't you." She said, still keeping her attention on Sirius

"I have no idea what that means, but I feel really great right now." Starburst said.

"Alright, that's enough alcohol for you." Fire took away the bottle.
"Fine!" Starburst kissed Caramel on the cheek and lay back in his bed.

 

Glint waved at Sirius, she blinked a few times blankly.

A memory from earlier quickly flashed inside Stephan's mind.

"Grand, do you know any teleportation spells?" Stephan asked her. "Rainbow Dash bought Starburst a present, but since she's in the hospital, she won't be able to get it. If you know any spells like that, do you think you could transport me to her house so I can grab it for her?"

Grand sighed. " I can try, but I'm not making any promises, I'm nowhere near as accurate as Missy or Starburst. Alright, are you ready?" She asked, getting her majpgic ready. "If you land in a field under ms. Dashes house, you can't say I didn't warn you" she said, charging her magic and teleporting him. She had to sit down and take a break after it

Astrolabe stared at the seemingly endless whiteness of the ceiling and walls. Her barely opened eyes wandered to random places, stopping at some, then proceeding on in a lazily manner. She was lying on a bed that blended like a chameleon with the colorless room. It was meant for two; though it only had one pillow lying in the center, and it was evident that only one pony lived here. Only a few objects broke this one-color building. Some ponies had commented on how her style was bland and plain and how she should paint and renovate her house.

 

There was an electronic gramophone lying on a transparent glass table. Without close observation, it gave the bizarre illusion of floating in the air. Though it was appealing, it was also unusable. Astrolabe had attempted to search for records that could work on this special record - "hybrid" ones, which could work on both electronic gramophones and first generation phonographs due to its celluloid compound composition.

 

Her eyes then dozed off until it stopped at an open window. She didn't like looking outside; it reminded her of the fickleness of life and how broken everything was.

 

Outside her window was a small-sized city, surrounding by a ten meter concrete wall. It once held the purpose of keeping things from coming in...or out. The Apocalypse was long gone, but not its effects, which still lingered in the ruins of Equestria. Civil disorder, food shortage, government bankruptcy, and constant disease were common. Ponies have been sent on "scavenging expeditions" to search for supplies - though it was almost never enough for all. Crops have been destroyed, markets have been empty, and a number of survivors outside had started an unofficial rebellion against the government and military itself. Astrolabe reconsidered; maybe they were right. White was too unfitting of a color.

 

Her hooves then dropped from the edge of her bed, sweeping the cold, metal ground. This repeated for minutes, until she stopped at a bump. Astrolabe felt the object, picking it up.

 

It was a rifle. The firearm was still in excellent quality. Its wooden stock was well polished, and the metal was clean and undamaged. True, it was out of style, but its beauty and perfection was not diminished. The bolt chamber was sleek, and the thing fired out powerful thirty two caliber long rifle bullets. A metal pin above the muzzle stabilized the gun, and the lightness of the gun made it relatively easy to move around. Even the recoil was somewhat alleviated, making the rifle a very practical weapon indeed, despite its low firing rate. The rifle has innovations, however, such as a muzzle break and moving iron sights, making it capable of range finding. It seemed like even old-fashioned guns can keep up with the time.

 

Astrolabe closed her eyes. Maybe it was time to refresh her mind

The train shook forward and backward, left and right, and upward and downward. Even high speed trains lacked comfort these days.

 

This is how I go to work every day. It is an eighty mile trip to Ridgeline. The trip to Ridgeline took about an hour, and an hour and a half back. Two hours during rush hour. Ponies classified this kind of ride as a "bullet train", though that would be highly inaccurate. The train was far from achieving the speed of sound, and at most it went a hundred and ten miles per hour.

 

As previously mentioned, I work at the Heartland Institute of Science, also shortened and abbreviated to HLIS. I am a professor there. The facility there is modern and palatial, and I find it most fitting to a educational environment.

 

Of course, it takes more than just a train ride to get there. After I get off at Ridgeline, I must walk there by hoof for another five miles. Though I am far from athletic, it is as less tiring than other ponies expect, and it is all very rewarding when you arrive at the school grounds.

 

Today was different, however. I noticed something...strange. There were guards patrolling the city streets, and there appears to be more ponies than expected. I could not understand what was going on - perhaps there was an accident?

 

I walked towards the scene, only to be stopped by guards. They were blocking off roads, though I could not see any occurred accident of the sort. The guards only reiterated the same few words: "This area is restricted and off limits."

 

Like a number of ponies, I proceeded on. It sounded serious, though it was obvious the paramilitary was attempting to cover up the issue. I believed everypony was just as equally surprised than me, and reluctantly I continued walking.

 

I did not stray far, as I soon heard a noise. It was undeniable; the sound was the shattering of glass. After a few seconds of silence, the whole city broke into a near instant scream of terror. They were running, from whom, I do not know. Ignorant of my surroundings, I decided to run along with the crowd. And I did not bother to look back when I heard deathly shrieks, sickening sounds, and various sounds, as they all combined into one, horrific noise: chaos.

Well, Grand wasn't accurate, but she didn't land Stephan in a field. Instead, she teleported him above the house, causing him to fall and crash through the roof.

"Ow... that doesn't feel right..." He muttered. "Now, where is that gift." Stephan turned his head to see the gift sitting on a table. He picked up the gift and jumped out of Dash's house through the giant hole he made in the ceiling. While falling downward, he saw a random mare holding a rifle. He landed and trotted to her. "What're you planning on doing with that?" He asked her.

it took steel a moment to remember what she was talking about "forget about it I already had" said with a chuckle "you like the daring for do books right" steel asked hopping he was right because if he wasn't the gift would be worthless he pulled out a rather large box

In the middle of Caramel asking for some magic, she decided to show it to her. A few slices of cake she picked up, one in blue and one in yellow colored aura which is unusual for a unicorn. Then she twirled them around super fast in a circle, but surprisingly didn't damage anything before setting them back down. "It's not much, but. The doctor said I actually have two horns! Just one is inside the other, which causes this effect~"

 

Meanwhile in the operating room, there lied Moon. She was tied down and eventually they had to calm her down dramatically with a shot of whatever. From there she was stitched back up after about 30 or so minutes, before one of them had came into the room.

"Ah yes, you there. Grand Finale right? You were the one to carry this girl in, which would make you partially responsible for this. So tell me, what happened that caused her this?" He said, taking out a pen and paper with some magic.

Grand sighed, "yes doctor, I've worked with you before" she scowled. She had developed a negative attitude towards everything to do with this hospital. "From what I understand, she had received some unpleasant news, causing her to attempt what I can only assume is suicide"

 

Caramel smiled. "Well that's pretty cool! You've got a special little talent there don't you?'

Caramel smiled. "Well that's pretty cool! You've got a special little talent there don't you?'

"Unpleasant news and suicide?" He said back, writing some things down on the paper. "If I may ask, would you know what the news was? Or would you rather keep it to yourself and her? Just curious to know before we send her off to test her mental stability, since she may need to go to.. That place."

The doctor sighed, then shook his head a bit before replying and threw the paper away. "Alright, fine. She'll be in your hooves if you don't want her in a mental institution, but you would need to monitor her in case of any more suicidal attempts. If we catch her here again for the same reason, the blame is entirely on you.."

 

After a little bit, another doctor came out and whispered into the first one's ear, which he nodded and looked up to Grand. "Alright, she's ready if you want to see her. But since we take precautions here, I would advise you to be careful." Then he turned and left, pointing to the door that Moon was in along the way.

(If you're confused, I'm going on with Astrolabe's past: which she occasionally records. And she doesn't live nearby Ponyville, let alone Cloudsdale. Plus, she's a unicorn. At the least her home is two hundred miles away from Canterlot; though I might as well make her quarantined town a nearby town from Cloudsdale.)

 

Astrolabe snapped out of her trance, dropping her rifle at once. She looked in an astonished manner at the stranger, still speechless.

 

Only after a few seconds of realization did she fully come out of her visual hallucination. It all seemed read for a second...until she awakened and found herself lying against the edge of the white wall.

 

"Who are you?" was the only sentence she could manage to faintly say. Later, she sluggishly added, "Is this still my false vision?"

"Don't you advise me on anything" she said harshly before entering the room. Her face softened as she sighed. "You've really put me in a sticky situation" she said softly, sitting down in a chair next to the hospital bed. "Moon... Why would you ever do something like this?' She said sadly

Moon lied there, tied down to the bed. She looked like a zombie pretty much, but when hearing Grand she started to tear up. "I.... I, don't know Grand.. It's just, I was recovering from one thing and now.. Something equally as bad happened. I'm, so sorry if I caused you any trouble, especially on Starburst's birthday... Please can you, forgive me?"
