Meanwhile, Moon felt the stitch line that ran from her left hoof down to the belly button. It was a small cut that wouldn't leave a scar if was treated with some healing magic afterwards, which she planned to do after. "Have we missed any of the party..?"

Moon giggled a little, feeling the new atmosphere of the room as both came in and smiled. There was joy in in here, and she really enjoyed it which got her mind off everything.

When Caramel looked up though, Siri noticed and looked as well. She saw the large cut down her mother which caused her smile to fade. "Mommy, mommy what happened to you!?"

"It's alright Sirius, please don't worry. In a bit this will be healed and i'll be fine, alright? I had something accidently cut me deeply in the bathroom, which is pretty upsetting since I cant really bend down too much to touch you.. Anyway, have you had any cake yet?"

She shook her head. "No, not yet. I've been waiting for you!"

"Well then have some honey! Me and Grand are just about to grab a piece shortly..~"

"Generally I don't talk to strangers who try to barge into my house without my consent," Astrolabe snapped, "But regardless, my name is Astrolabe. I am a professor and physicist" - she glanced at her bolt rifle - "though it may not seem like it."

 

She laughed when she heard the stallion's remark. How unusual. She barely laughed...expect when she counted the time she was with...him. "You seem like a relatively self-confident pony, aren't you? You still believe that you're the hero, but I'll tell you this; there is little room for heroism during desperate times.

 

"And you seem to also believe that the Apocalypse is over. It's far from over. If you pay a bit more attention, nothing has gone much better than during the outbreak. Many places are still quarantined, in famine, or in the process of corruption and constant crime. In fact, it is still here right now. You may have thought it was gone, but it's not.

 

"Several places still linger with...these things. It's never going to disappear even if we try to trap ourselves, vaccinate ourselves, or even cure the reanimated. Still they will exist, and try as you must, they will stay for the rest of our lives, reminding us what happened two years before.

 

"So don't think you eradicated them all. Don't expect we will." Astrolabe finished.

Grand smiled. "Of course, now who wants a slice?" Grand asked, cutting the cake and handing out pieces to everyone. "Terribly sorry Starburst, I seem to have left your gift at home, I'll get it for you shortly" she said, taking a bite of cake.

 

Caramel ate some too, though she was still curious about the gash on Moons body

Moon took the cake with her right hoof, using her mouth to bend down and take a bite out since her left hoof had stitches on it. "Wow actually. This cake, it's really good~ That and I've never had cake in about 9 or so years, you kind of miss out on the taste of it. Anyways, how is it Siri darling?"

She replied with a happy tone after swallowing down everything already. "This is wonderful! Thanks Grand for the piece, and Starburst for his birthday~!"

Glint waved at Caramel, seemingly fascinated with the whole idea of waving.

"Grand, there's something I need to talk to you about." Missy said. "It's about Glint."

Grand nodded. "Of course Missy, would you like to step out into the hall for a moment?" She asked. "I'll be back in just a second Moon" she said before going out into the hall. "What is it? Is there something wrong?"

Missy put Glint on Starburst's bed.

"I'll be back in a moment little one." Missy said, nuzzling her. She followed Grand out into the hall.

"I'm supposed to be taking Glint away from the hospital today, but there's not enough room in your house for her." Missy said.

 

"Hello lil' sis." Starburst said, picking her up.

Glint made a sound that sounded like hello, but wasn't an actual word.

"Oh nonsense, we can make room, lucky for you I still have Caramels baby things, her crib us just downstairs in storage, we can just pull it out" she said cheerily. "It's not an issue, your family is always welcome in my house"

 

Caramel sat happily, eating cake and playing with Sirius.

Moon being near the door could partially hear the conversation about no room and a baby, so she kindly stepped in by opening the door and peeped her head out. "Didn't Zeta move out of the guest bedroom or whatever? You can sleep there with your baby Missy, it's no problem for me to be on the floor or anything."

"Thank you, Grand. you're the kindest mare I've met." Missy said. "I just know Glint is going to be spending a lot of time with her Aunt Grand." Missy chuckled and looked round at Starburst levitating Glint, she was giggling uncontrollably.

 

"Starburst, be careful with her." Missy said.

"Don't worry, I've got this under control." Starburst replied.

"Starburst." Missy said.

"Fine." Starburst responded and put her down on the bed. "Do you have plans later, Caramel?"

 

"What's this for?" Dash asked, taking the box.

Caramel smiled and wiggled her hoof in front if Glint. "Nope, I'm not busy, what did you have in mind?"

Starburst's mind drifted to the ring underneath his bed.

Afterwards, Moon closed the door and took a rest on the wheelchair she was in. There was still pain both physically and mentally, being the fact that it hurt to get a divorce but he was right. Once the outbreak started, they never really spent time together nor have they ever since.

Maybe it was for the best... She thought in her head, sighing and let a little tear out. But before anyone could notice she wiped it away and stuck a smile on her face. I guess, things just happen sometimes..

She looked up at Grand and thought for a bit, then giggled. "If you'll spend some time with me after you do whatever, then i'll come." Then Moon leaned over to whisper in her ear. "That and I haven't gotten Starburst a present yet.. I need a little help on getting one."

Siri decided to stay back in the hospital and play around a bit, looking at Glint and gave a smile. "Mom said I used to be a cute baby just like you, and I was a troublemaker too~"

 

Outside though, Moon shook her head at Grand. "No, i'm alright. Cold weather doesn't get me as easily, being that I used to sneak out and swim in the ocean out in the middle of winter when I was young. Anyways, what are you going to do again at the house?"
