"Oh no, I just realised, either we missed the Gala, or it wasn't on this year." Missy said. "But anyway, don't sell yourself short, you should at least try and audition, try for me, please...."

She shook her head. "No, since I only ask the doctor where Sirius is and not the room number. Trust me, when we get there he'll lead us to my daughter. Not like they're gonna do anything THAT bad to her, you know~?" Moon giggled while walking along the snow. She already forgot about Nightmare Night like that.

 

(( But seriously, I was really waiting for it to come along. I never thought that it would just pass on by like nothing since Shy mentioned about it a little bit back ))

Steel woke up he that his was upright he quickly got up and looked down to see the mare steel cursed under his breath "let me guess sh was gouge to town on me while I slept, and you stopped her"steel said "it doesn't matter the next ring is for the gluttons we won't be bothered by them since partnoff the punishment is not being able to see those around you but we will have to walk in a vile slush well I won't Ill just fly over it, anyways there is an icyrain that never ends that's what creatsbthe slush any questions or concerns?"steel asked

Starburst arrived at the library, Twilight was sitting, doing some kind of research.

"Grandma Twilight? I need your help." Starburst said. Twilight turned around.

"Hello Starburst, how's your sister?" She asked.
"Good, but it's actually about her." Starburst said. "Her mind is developing, way too fast, faster than any foal ever."

"What do you want me to do about it?" Twilight asked.

"I need help researching it." Starburst said.

Caramel led moon into sirius's room with Glint on her back. "Here we are moon! How are you doing Sirius, you're looking pretty good" caramel said happily

 

Siren smiled. "Oh, don't you worry about me dear, I can handle a bit of rain" she said, kicking the mare out of the way. "Silly of you to fall asleep in such a place, no?" She said with a devilish smile

After a small while. Starburst came up with a couple of books.

"Is it alright if I take these books?" Starburst asked.
"Sure, just bring them back." Twilight said. "Tell your mother I said hi."
Starburst left for the hospital. He arrived and went to find Sirius' room.

Caramel led moon into sirius's room with Glint on her back. "Here we are moon! How are you doing Sirius, you're looking pretty good" caramel said happily

Sirius took notice of the ponies who walked in here, seeing her mother Moon, Caramel, and Glint all in one. Her mom was her mom so she was happy, Glint was a pony she wanted to see badly so she was happier, and Caramel who helped her into the hospital was always a lovely sight so she was excited. Siri began to burst out, but did her best to stay still since there was both a catheter in her and a cast that shouldn't move whatsoever.

"Everyone, hi!!!" She said with one of the brightest smiles on her face. Then Moon walked over and gently hugged her.

"Ohhh, Siri.. I've missed you so much.. I'm glad you're really happy to see us all, since it makes me happy to know you're in a good mood~!"

Siren laughed. "What can I say? I figured I'd enjoy my time while I was here" she hissed in his ear before he took off. She walked through the slush, not letting it affect her confident stride. "aww, this rooms no fun. I suppose it'll be simple though" she said, pulling up her cape so it didn't get wet

"Guys, I found you, I did some research into the matter at hand, and I came up with a few answers." Starburst said, levitating the book to Caramel. "It is my theory, and I'll have to test her later in life, but I believe she may have something called Asperger's Syndrome, potentially affecting her social skills later in her life."

Steel shoke his head "most wont be"steel said as the rain quickly soaked him his mane fell in his face he pushed his mane out if his face the last room's smell hadnt bothered him but this room did it smelled of rotting food and and some odd smell he couldn't place "so how did you enjoy ponies trying to rape you" steel asked as he lowerd himself just above the slush

Moon shortly stopped hugging Sirius, standing back up to face Caramel. "I believe my daughter could tell you that babe, so go on Siri~"

 

She nodded happily and continued. "Aspergers, is a type of defect that.. It, er, you cant interact right with other ponies. To get along with others would be much more complicated, and sometimes you say the wrong thing to others. I studied this in school, and read all about it, so I never knew it would come in handy!" Then she giggled, as some more yellow came from the tube.

"Homecoming for you, home for me. I've been stuck in this dump for the last ten years. Not that you could tell though, I haven't aged a day. Being 17 forever is a plus in my books" she said, shaking out her cape from the mush. "So you killed for money, hmmm? Maybe I should try it when I get out of here"

 

Caramel looked at Glint. "Well... We don't know if that's it for sure, we can't say anything until she's older"

Moon nodded to agree with Caramel, but decided to give one little test while she was there. So she stepped close to Starburst and nuzzled Glint before speaking. "Hey Glint, can you say... Moonlight, Lowwave?"

Siri let out a little laugh in the background, watching the baby carefully. "Moonlight Lowwave! Teehe~"

Sirens smile faded. "Well in that case I've lost interest. I don't work under someone else's rules. I suppose I'll keep murder as a hobby" she said, her smirk returning. "I'd much rather keep it an art form anyways" she looked back at Steel. "It's a shame you aren't sticking around, I think we'd make good friends"

As Moon was working with Glint, Sirius signaled for Caramel to come over. "Hey, Miss Caramel! So, I want to talk to you while we're in the hospital!" She said happily and adjusted herself to sit up, so she didn't slip out of the cast holder. "So first of all, the doctor did something which I don't know what they did. Do you know what this is?" She said, pointing to the tube that went inside her lower body.

"Here we are, and welcome to Asphodel," Silverspeed declared to us, a crowd of two. 

 

National Highway 94 was virtually deserted, and the view was nothing like the highway I used to remember before the "Outbreak", as I had called it at that time (though it was later changed to "Apocalypse"). Hundreds and hundreds of motor carriages, some of them burning or burnt, congested the road away from Asphodel, while the road to Asphodel was almost completely deserted, with a few carriages and in one case, a wagon, on the middle of the road. 

 

"Can't believe they attempted to flee by carriage," Silverspeed commented. "Would have been easy targets for the dead. No wonder they got infected."

 

"What's even more unbelievable that the whole city is demolished within a day," I said.

 

Silverspeed attempted to change the subject. "You got that radio on you?" 

 

"Yes," I answered. "But there's nothing on the radio. Only static now."

 

She took the radio away from my hooves, pressing the power button. There was indeed nothing on the radio – only static. "Of course," she murmured audibly. 

 

"Wait!" Archer suddenly blurted out. "I thought of something! Maybe we can use the radio as a signal and get other ponies to find us!" 

 

"And how do you supposed we do that?" questioned Silverspeed. "I'm no engineer, and I can't build a walkie-talkie out of this."

 

"No," I defended. "There's a radio station at the Asphodel City College. We can probably get there and broadcast a distress message to the whole city. Hopefully ponies will arrive to this location and we'll have a bigger group. Higher chance of survival if we have more ponies, right?"

 

"Actually, that doesn't sound like a half-bad idea," Silverspeed remarked, smirking. 

 

We continued into the city; there was a military blockade, but it seemed to have been overrun, or at the least abandoned. "Damn...seems pretty messed up here." she said.

 

"Yeah," Archer agreed.

 

"Turn right on Maple Street, go straight for three blocks and turn left to 1st Street, and another left to Cedar Drive," I said. "Need to get to my house first. Hope things didn't get too messy there."

 

The three of us moved through the streets without causing any noise, and thankfully, there were no pega-trotters. "There isn't much food for them here," Silverspeed proposed, "Which would explain why we're not seeing as many trotters in this area. As soon as this place is depleted, they're going to be moving someplace else."

 

"Only been a day," I pointed out. "They could still be here, waiting for their moment to charge at us. I think it is best if we keep our guard."

 

Though we had seen several trotters here and there, there were not very many. The trip to my home was relatively easy. "Stay outside," I told the two. "I'll try to find some stuff and get out of this place. Possibly camp here for the night, though it might get a bit dangerous."

 

The two nodded. "Privacy issues. I understand," Silverspeed said. "But if you get yourself into a...you know, 'Z'-situation, shout at loud as you can, and we'll come it."

 

I entered the home, Silverspeed and Archer staying outside. The insides were left untouched, the coffee cup still hanging at its rightful place, the refrigerator still organized in a grid pattern with food, and the supplies still intact. I bit my lip as I broke that tidiness and stored as most food and water into a bag, along with valuables. 

 

I searched the whole house, starting from upstairs. There was a picture of my family and me; I took the whole frame and carefully placed it inside the bag. I also found a picture of my Doctor of Philosophy graduation ceremony, clad in an academic dress. I listened to my recordings of previous events, sitting there and remembering the days when I was younger and more energetic. Finally, I turned on the answering machine. It was not in very great quality – after all, answering machines were still in their primitive state and haven't been improved for some time.

 

Three new messages.

 

Message one. Left at nine forty-two. 

 

Hey little Astrie, this is your mommy Bakelite. Is Asphodel a comfortable place for you? I want to tell you some good news; we're coming to Asphodel tomorrow! Got our things packed up, so you might expect us to come around noon. Good luck at the university!

 

I rolled my eyes. My mom still treats me like a little filly.

 

Message two. Left at eighteen o'nine. 

 

Finally! I don't know if you tried to reach us, but all the calls to Asphodel are getting dropped. They're not letting us leave our homes and aren't telling us anything about what's happening. I don't know what's going on, but you should leave the city and take as much as you can. Please let me know that you're safe.

 

Message three. Left at five fifty-one.

 

Astrolabe? My little filly, if you can hear this, call the guards immediately. We love you. We love y-

"Alright, we should....." Missy said, but then realising what they would have to do to get in to Tartarus. "Guys, to get in there, I think we have to die. I'll try my best to open a portal for you guys, but if that fails..."

Meanwhile Sirius looked at Starburst and tilted sideways a little. "Mmm.... For fun, I just twirl things really. I like to refine my magic to control it better, so this is how I do it."

She then summoned her clone spell that stood in front of her. The clone smiled as both horns lit up, which grabbed 4 different books that Starburst had brought and started twirling them around in the air. "See? Something like this~"

Grand sighed. "Well, I suppose it won't be the first time. But are you sure we can get back out? I certainly don't want to get stuck in such a wretched place"

 

Caramel looked at Sirius. "Ehh, I don't know, that's not my compartment. I can go ask one of the doctors if you're curious though" she said

 

Siren thought for a moment. "I suppose that could come in handy. Maybe I'll check it out, though some would say my style isn't quite stealthy. I prefer elaborate"

Sirius merely giggled a bit and concentrated on levitating 4 different objects at one time. "Okay, heh. I've heard of doctors who try to take advantage of seeing others privates but i'm sure he has a reason~"

 

Zeta quickly stepped in next to Missy and Grand, really concerned now. "I cant do that, since i'm not making Grand lose her life just to go to Tartarus. Use Fire and her to help you open a portal, since they can provide you with enough magic i'm sure."
