"Am I allowed to come on your little quest, Zeta?" Missy asked, she was feeling quite shivery but she managed to not show any kind of signs that she was cold. "Unless you guys wanted to go alone, in which case i'll return to the camp."

Zeta noticed Missy come to them on the walk, looking at her with a surprise. "It all depends on you Missy. I thought you were asleep with Fire Horn not that long ago, since after all you are really stressed out. Did something happen to wake you up, or you couldn't fall asleep?"

"I was, distracted, i know i did something terrible to a dear friend of mine in the past, but i just can't remember what it is. Maybe it's best i not know." Missy said. "So, what did you guys find? Did you find shelter or something, according to Fire we've got about a day and a a half of travel before we reach the mountain, so...."

"We found something to refresh ourselves and resupply." He said, pointing to the oasis which wasn't very far away. Its presence already made this desert worthwhile to walk in, seeing as water is what keeps them all alive.

"Actually Missy, I need you to do one thing. Go back and grab all the water bottles you can for us, and we'll refill them back up and take them."

Grand found the idea of getting away from scorpions ideal, she she climbed up onto zetas back. "It's become quite a common occurrence I'm up here isn't it?" She said, a little embarrassed. As they go closer to the oasis the buffalo seemed to notice them. "I hope they aren't hostile" she said quietly

Missy hobbled back to the camp and got some of the water can's and bottles, remembering she had wings, she jumped up and soared through the skies back to Grand and Zeta. "Here you go, guys, that's all of them, let's just hope this oasis of yours is real." Missy said.

 

(If you're wondering how she can fly, i've come up with a feature for alicorns, they have an improved healing factor, meaning that her wing healed faster.)

He took all the water bottles he could, holding most in one hoof and giving a little nod to Missy. "Thank you a ton for this. Honestly I wish I could thank you more, but I don't know how.."

After getting the bottles Zeta looked at the buffalo, seeing as there was no little one around, they merely walked away for now. "I don't think they'll be attacking unless they really want their water. And yeah I guess, you climbing on my back is starting to become of a habit indeed. But I've been thinking a little.."

They eventually came up to the little oasis, looking around for a good spot and set Grand down next to one of the trees. Afterwards, he sat down next to her but gave a little space before talking.

"Um, Grand.. I kind of want this just between you and me, but.. Is it ok, if I told you that I liked you a little..?"

His face turned a little red when saying that, feeling a little embarrassed as well. "Well I think I already gave the answer away there..."

"ah, wait... before you go again, let me take a look on your eyes." Ink suddenly said after hours that he had spent trying to decide what was happening with Missy since Fire Horn didn't know what to do. 

As he looked to her eyes, he noticed something, "your there, your mind is working well, not in a feud..." he muttered quietly, "Yep, Fire Horn..." Ink left off and headed towards Fire Horn, he tried his best to explain things as clearly and as subtle as he could, "Don't worry, she's just distracted... She has been having a tough time reviewing her past, trying to piece back lost memories, basically she's trying to remember, either she purposed this or her mind spontaneously went back to the past is unknown." luckily Ink had one thing that he was very good at; simple deduction and elementary. Yet, Missy was experiencing more than that; to be absorbed that much to the past seemed unnatural -- what's natural during this apocalypse, that's not the point though -- something inside her mind, some kind of a past event, that had but blown a crater inside Missy's mind which made Ink asked, "She told me that she was separated from you and Starburst, pardon... while in Ponyville, did something happen, did she tell you anything in particullar? How was she acting if you could remember." he whispered to Fire Horn so that Missy couldn't hear him.

One thing that Ink couldn't stand was a loose end.

Missy coughed awkwardly. "Um... Grand, i think i need your help with something or other, let's go over here!" Missy said, derped eyes and speaking very quickly, while pushing Grand in the opposite direction of Zeta.

 

"She never spoke about the time we were separated, i always assumed she went straight to Trottingham or something." Fire said. "It must have been quite traumatic though."

Just hearing the first part made Zeta feel happy."Y-yeah, the water is good indeed. But um.. Thank you for not really, rejecting me.. I am old and all, which had me worried that you might, do, do something like that."

He stood back up, giving her a hug regardless of how embarrassed they both were, but soon let go after hearing Missy call for her.

"Well, I guess you need to go help Missy, and I need to refill this water.. So, i'll talk to you again sometime soon, if that's okay with you.."

Grand was about to say something a bit less idiotic until missy pushed her away. "Wha- what are you doing flying missy? You could hurt yourself" she said, her face still red, but starting to fade. "Is there something you would like to tell me?" She asked, still sitting down while being pushed

"Don't worry, my wing is fine, it stopped being painful a few hours ago, though the sun didn't help the healing, i believe the patient is supposed to have a positive attitude. Anyway." Missy said, interrupting herself. "I had to get you out of there before you said anything you might regret later."

Meanwhile, Zeta gave a little sigh before standing up again and took a drink from the oasis, proceeding to fill up the bottles afterwards. After all was filled, he carried about half back to the camp, taking a bit to get there before setting all of them down next to the supply bag and continued to get the next load.

The view from where they were was fairly nice, more or less since the moon was bright and big which provided some light to shine down on the oasis. When Zeta got back, he loaded himself up once more to go back to the camp, taking one last look at Grand and smiled before leaving again.

I cant believe I said that to you, but it made me feel... Better.

One loose end all covered up, Missy was fine, nothing but a memory review, "Anyways, we're still heading for the shrine are we?" Ink asked Fire Horn, "then we need preparation."

"Riddles solving, traps, trap flooring, lava, poison darts, pendulums, and everything beyond your wild imagination." Ink said rather plainly, "No actually I was just kidding, but what I've just said about Riddles solving is true, riddles are everywhere, all of them points down to the Elements of Harmony, friendship - all that Star Swirl the Bearded ever written down in the scrolls." and as fearing the most, a fan of his books was ultimately the key for the group to reach the heart of the Shrine; the descendant of Star Swirl the Bearded himself, "Missy..." Ink Drop said as he looked at her.

"She needs to be the one that solves it, because she's the only pony that is capable on doing it."

Eventually, all the water bottles were taken back to the group, then he headed back to the oasis to go lay down in the spot he was previously in.

Only this time, Zeta was once again alone like all the other times he has been when going around equestria. He let out a sigh and watched both Grand and Missy talk, letting out a small laugh every time one would make some funny gesture to the other.

Since nopony came for a dagger steel strapped them all over his body "it's time I start training again" steel said to himself as henstarted doing pushups "500 just like always than sit-ups 500 and since iv been walking every where and flying I won't need to do the run or flight drills so I'll just need to find somepony to fight menso I can work on wepon drills" steel said while keeping track of Hus push ups

"No, just to the Shrine... simple as that. This is not a story." Ink chuckled in the end of his sentence, but seeing that Fire was serious, he held it down and continue, "She is the only one that could help us get pass those layers after layers of walls, she knows; in her blood and for Celestia's sake, she has to know about her grandfather's words. It's the only thing that could open the inner sanctum or core of the Shrine" He pulled out his black colored journal and showed it to Fire Horn, "This, here - right here..." he said with a loud voice, "I never thought I would take it out and show it to somepony else" he muttered, "but this contains everything you need to know about the Shrine, well... not all of it, I trust you so I'm trusting you with this." He handed his personal journal to Fire Horn and said some more, "The Shrine is alive..." given that he had been there, he witnessed something that no pony would ever believe him.

Fire Horn opened the journal, it was quite awe inspiring, being able to look into Ink Drop's mind like this in a sense.

"...i've been travelling for a week now, the Hajoons are far behind me now, for that i'm thankful. I've reached the inner sanctum of the shrine, but i cannot travel any further, a door impedes my progress, i shall return home with the knowledge i have gained, it will be most valuable. though not before i copy down something from a scroll i found in the sanctum." Fire Horn read this little bit of writing, it was written by Star Swirl himself.

 

"If you're reading this, then i am long gone and Faust forbid the plague has affected this noble land again, but if it has, then read carefully: the key to my machine is hidden within not something simple as a key or a device. It resides within one of my descendants, hopefully my lineage has reached you in time. I am going to send one of my children, her name is Solarus, she will be the beacon of hope for the future. She will be the one to end the suffering of so many."

 

Fire Horn closed the journal and looked up at Ink. "What?!"

Zeta noticed the two talk for a little more, watching as both started to head back to camp. He didn't really know what to do at that point, telling her that he had started to take a liking, and then it getting interrupted. So he laid there, watching the two leave.

 

Looks like he really was alone again. Third time charm, completely broken.

Missy saw Zeta, sitting alone, away from everypony, that was a stupid move, now Missy had probably ruined his chances with Grand, it was something that she already regretted, but she decided to talk to him anyway.

 

"I know i'm probably the last pony you want to see right now, but i need to talk to you before you tell me to go away." Missy said. "Don't think of that over there as a failure, she was just caught off guard, let her have time to think....and when she's ready, she'll talk to you." Missy waled over to Fire Horn.

 

"Hey, what are you two talking about?" Missy asked.
