"Hold on, I recognize that voice." Fire said, backing away from the shadow. "Zycrin."

"Who's Zycrin?" Missy asked.

"Zycrin, he's an assassin for hire who pestered us, 9 years ago, we killed him, but he lived on through a sword." Fire explained.

"But we cleansed him and the sword." Starburst said.

"You fixed the sword alright, but not Stephan." Fire said.

Caramel was utterly lost. "alright, what the heck do you want?" she said bitterly. Grand held her, wiping her eyes. "You... you monster, what have you done!" She yelled "Why cant you leave us alone!" she looked back at Stephans corpse and let out another sob. "Why cant you just stay dead"

"Oh, I'm not Zycrin. He's dead, remember?" He said, letting off an evil grin. "I am Dread. I am the physical form of the curse that lived inside the sword nine years ago. Before this idiot threw me into the volcano, I hid inside him, where I'd wait until he'd pass on." He then looked at Starburst and walked up to him. "You. I have to thank you, kid. Thanks to you, the moron is dead, and I'm finally free!"

"Don't talk to this thing." Fire said. "It isn't worth our time or efforts. It's merely a shadow."

Grand glared at him, pushing her sister behind her. "You should go back to where you came from, you don't belong here. Youve caused enough havoc already, youre done" She said sternly, standing her ground. "Go get sirius to the hospital Caramel"

"Go!"

Caramel obeyed and ran off with Sirius to the hospital, loking behind her before she disapeared into the building

"What do I want?" Dread laughed menacingly. "I would do something cliche like 'world domination' or something, but I'm not that cruel. All I want back... is my sword. The one that the idiot threw into the volcano. I shall only take that one sword and that one sword only. Or a sword with the exact same properties. Give me it back, and I shall restore your friend's life."

Steel seen what was going on and pulled out his hell blades he hadn't had a need for them in a long time the daggers where black with a pentagram on them and he'll fire surronding the blade they flames and color of the pentagram always matched steels anger so at the rime they only held a faint red glow and was hard to see

"I cannot give you the sword that fell into the volcano, using a time spell would cause a paradox, the sword, actually, nopony knows what happened to the sword, it could work, but why should we believe you? Why would a great, almighty demon such as yourself want to go back to a sword? Why would you bring Stephan back to life?"

Grand glared at him. "What are you planning to do with the sword? I can assume its nothing to do with being a good samaritan. Youre planning to kill people with it, and I wont stand for it. You arent going to hurt another pony, I vow it" She said sternly, not breaking her stare

Steel was flying And he heard something about a sword and a demon he landed wilding the hell blades and seem Stephan dead his anger began to rise and the flames grew and turned blue along with the pentagram

"You not getting the sword isn't recommended for your friend's sake." Dread said. "You can either get the sword or make one with similar properties, or your friend can rot in the afterlife for all eternity. I have the ability to bring him back to life. I shall only do so if you return the sword to me. I plan to have it so I can return to Zycrin and become one with the sword once again, resting with my creator."

"I wont save one pony only to have you go and kill hundreds of others. No. You arent getting anything from me. I wont let you gain the power to kill innocent ponies" She said, feeling guilty for not doing everything in her power to save Stephan, but the thought of Zycrin wrecking havoc on innocents made her cringe

"what at the properties of the sword?" steel asked as he landed the flames and pentagram on his blades clearly visible now he was interested because if what he fought was correct them this was a demon and the would mean he could be wanting a hell sword which was just a larger form of the daggers he was hilding

"I am hesitant to believe you, but I will try to retrieve the sword for you." Starburst said. "For Stephan, I will save hin."
"Starburst, you can't seriously be considering this." Missy said, running up to him.
"I am, I did, I'm doing this." Starburst said. "Even if there's only a chance that we'll save him."
"We killed Zycrin once, we can do it again." Fire said to Grand.

 

Starburst charged a spell. He disappeared in a flash of light.

He appeared at the volcano, the day the sword was destroyed, only one thing, Trotters.

He flew over to the volcano and hid until Stephan threw the sword in. Josh was with him.

Starburst grabbed the sword as it fell, he used the spell again, returning to the present.

 

He appeared again with the sword and a lot of burns, also, his scar started bleeding a little.

"Here, take it and go." Starburst said.

"You don't understand, silly mare." Dread chortled. "All I want is to be at peace. I just want my real master. This fool can't even wield a sword, let alone one that almost killed his friends." He said in an insulting matter. "The only way that I can find peace is if I have the sword. Bring it to me, and I swear on my eternal life, I will bring your friend back." He then looked over at Steel. "In order to find the properties of the sword, you must return to Manehatten, get into Zycrin's old base, and retrieve the prints for it. I don't know what they are. I'm just the curse."

"No! You arent understanding! I am not going to bring one life back to only kill hundreds of others! You are an awful curse, and you only want to kill. I refuse to help." She said sternly, stomping her hooves. "You can bring him back, then you can go off and do what you want. Can you honestly tell me you arent going to go and kill ponies after youre restored?"

"that's better then what I thought i would have to do" steel said glad he was wrong but of he had to get a hell sword he would have to go to hell and he want what sure he could do it again not to mention convince the devil to let him have yet another hell blade

A sword hoof-crafted by the finest assassin to have ever lived and died. And now, I keep my end of the deal... right when you return this sword with me inside it to Zycrin's grave in Appleoosa." He grinned.

I kept running, and running, and running.. At that time I was in a state of panic. Adrenaline ran inside my body, and my heart rate was increasing. Though I had little body build, I was sprinting for several minutes, non-stop. Tiredness and fatigue was coming in, yet it did not allow me to stop.

 

An explosion soon took place on the suburban city. I could not see it, but the sound it made was tell-tale. It further gave me more questions: what was happening? I was running, running from something unknown. 

 

My first glimpse of what I was running from eventually arrived. I was seeing pegasi guards flying up, circling and shooting. They were obviously not shooting at us, but what was behind us. Then something swooped up and took down the pegasi guards. Correction: It was somepony. Pegasi were swooping and taking down other pegasi, along with several others from the ground. 

 

It was horrifying. In a desperate attempt, I ran to the closest building on my right. Thankfully, the door was open and unlocked, though I had little time to thank fate itself. Without hesitation, I ran inside, shutting the door and barricading it with what was near my surroundings. I now knew what it was. It was an emergency, and I needed to defend myself. My first assumption was that the emergency was most likely an invasion or attack. But if it was an attack, I argued, then why are they targeting civilians? And why in a place so small?

 

"I need to get rescued," I said to myself. There was probably some electronic signal inside the building. Every building supposedly had it, and she could possibly call a guard squad to her location. I also needed a radio and some food too. The worst case scenario must be presumed, in the case where help wasn't on the way. 

 

Just as I expected, there was an emergency closet at the first floor. I took every item that it offered – a flashlight, first aid kit, flares, signal mirror, instant food and drinks, medicine, and a multi-purpose pocket knife. There was also a radio taped on the back of the orange sack, which could also be used as a sleeping bag. I attached it to my body, and used the radio. 

 

Not surprisingly, every station on the radio was broadcasting a federal radio communications alert. It started off with a loud beeping noises for the first five seconds; afterwards, a voice, though covered by some static, was audible and could be heard.  

 

EMERGENCY WARNING SYSTEM EQUESTRIA

 

Civil Authorities have issued a *** Contagious Disease Pandemic Warning *** for the following areas: Ponyville, Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Bridleshire, Ridgeline, Hoofington, Westwatch, Gatemarch, Goldpine, Heartland Region, and Harbor Region. Effective until further notice.

 

This transmission was requested by the Equestria Royal Office of Civil Defense, broadcasting from Midway, Equestria at 08:23 Western Standard Time, on April 4. The origins of the disease are presumed to be from the Central Biological Laboratory. Symptoms may include: dizziness, blood vomiting, hallucinations, photophobia, pupil dilation, impaired use of magic and flight, and dehydration. We are currently in a threat level red. If you are indoors, do not attempt to leave, and barricade the exits as soon as possible. If you are outside, we advise you to hide inside alleys and enter a vacant building. The threat is approaching the entirety of the country – please comply with our commands to ensure your chances of survival. Areas that are not infected must take quarantine and defense precautions. Defiant behavior will not be tolerated and will be arrested on sight.

 

The transmission repeated itself once more before ending three, abrupt beeps. After that, I knew what I had to do. I picked up the flares and signal mirror and ran up several flight of stairs until I reached the final floor. I didn't stop to look outside, as my whole body was embedded with fear. 

 

When I went up the last floor, I found out that the rooftop stairs didn't connect with the building stairs, which sent me once more on another search. I wandered around the floor in a cautious manner, looking around in every room. Then I heard it. Hoofsteps. I quietly moved around, hiding in rooms.

 

Eventually, this lead to my unfortunate outcome. As I attempted to hide behind the shelf, it immediately collapsed on contact. What was even worse was that I was stuck between the shelf and the wall, my hoof squished in between. I tried to separate myself out, to no avail. 

 

That was when I saw a pony. I yelled, "Excuse me! Help me! I'm stuck!" The pony, or I thought was one, turned around. Its, or rather his, appearance was grotesque – his lips and right cheek was torn away, exposing the jaw and bloody muscle, his face and body ridden with multiple scars. The reanimated pony clenched his teeth, and slowly came my way. My face dropped in horror, and the pony approached faster and faster. Desperately I tried to squirm and pry my way out, and I close my eyes. I'm dreaming. Lucid dreams happen.

 

Five meters. Three. Two. One.

 

Suddenly the pony was shot in the head, impaled by an arrow. It collapsed to the ground, fully dead. I didn't dare move a muscle, and looked away from the corpse. I wanted to disappear. I wanted to find myself back on my bed. But I wasn't.

 

"Anypony there?" A pony said. An alive one, and judging by the pony's voice, it was a mare, perhaps in her mid-twenties. She noticed me shortly afterwards. "Another pony! Archie, help me with this!" 

 

The mare was prying the shelf open, grunting and panting. She was grey coated, with magenta colored eyes and metallic mane with white highlights. It was a pegasus, and on her hoof was a compound bow. It was fit with a complex optical sight and mechanical parts, and was a model fit for pegasi use, with its especially long grip handle and limbs, also with a mouthpiece on the string. 

 

Another pony, also alive, arrived at the scene, presumably the "Archie" the mare mentioned. It was a violet blue pony. This one was an earth pony filly. "No prob!" the filly replied, then helping the mare pull the shelf away.

 

Before I could show my appreciation, the mare pointed an arrow at me, the arrow head tip touching my coat. "Are you bit?" the mare said stiffly. "If you do not reply, I will kill you."

 

I was shocked by the mare's words. In anger, I answered, "What's that supposed to mean? As far as I know, I'm unscathed and very much healthy!"

 

The mare squinted at me, then picked me up and looked around my body. After a minute or so, she finally calmed, and handed me what appeared to be a machete. "Seems like you're fine. You might need this."

 

Information:

The Emergency Warning System Equestria, or EWSE for short, is an emergency radio broadcasting system used by the Equestrian Empire and its colonies and recently replaced the Equestria Emergency Broadcast, or EEB for short. Initially used for unpredictable weather forecasts (such as uncontrolled tornadoes and floods), it has also served its purpose to alert possible warfare, attacks, invasions, and riots – though these cases are extremely rare and therefore never officially used outside of testing. 

 

The recent system allowed ponies from a radio station to send out a transmission within five minutes. It is regularly tested every ten days exactly on noon. The logo is fairly notable; a blue cloud with radio waves coming out from the left and right. 

 

List of Warnings: Severe Tornado, Flash Flood, Pandemic (recent), Bombing, Hurricane, Evacuation, Abduction, and Required Fortnight Testing.

"We can't do that. It's not what Stephan would want us to do." Starburst said. "He wouldn't risk the lives of so many ponies just so that he could live again. You cannot be allowed to resurrect Zycrin, even if that means losing one of our most loyal friends." Starburst was already regretting his words. "I killed him, and I'll face the consequences of that. Rules are if a crime is commited they are banished from Ponyville, right? Well maybe that's the best thing for me right now." Starburst pulled the hood of the cloak over his head and walked away.

"I'll do it" steel said "let's get this over with" steel slid his daggers into their sheath and prepared for the flight "don't try an stop me it will get you no where" steel said knowing that he would have to deal with the others telling him it was a bad idea and that its not worth it

Caramel watched what had happened, and she had a terrified expression in as Starburst said he would leave. "No! Starburst, you can't!.... I'm going with you!" She said, running up to him

 

Grand looked at Caramel. She knew the law, but would Fire banish his own son?. " you two, wait! No ponies going anywhere until we figure this out. "Fire? Any words?" She said, throwing a glare to the demon

So Sirius was stuck in the hospital now, crying a bit before she was put to sleep to have her shoulder re-located back in the spot it was in before they put a cast on. Now she was there, asleep on the hospital bed.

 

Moon outside was confused as anything since she knew nothing about this Zycrin or what happened. But what she was concerned about was Starburst, who was suddenly leaving. "Starburst, get back here now! Nopony is leaving until we give a word, so come!"

"I cannot be biased towards anypony, it's murder, so I have no choice." Fire said, walking up to Starburst. "Celestia knows I don't want to do this, but......Starburst, you have commited a crime against Equestria, the crime is murder, what will you say in defense?"

 

"I have nothing to say, I will go peacefully." Starburst said. "Goodbye Caramel, don't follow me." Starburst opened his wings and flew out of the town.
