A bit surprised he didn't just get ransacked by the guards. He counts his blessing and sigh. As he takes the mare's hoof and shakes it.  "I am Carrick Murphy, Detective. Seems like I got out of a sticky situation." He reply, looking behind him. Still taking notice of the guards. He took notice of the mare's appearance. Long hair, purple eyes, the cutie mark that looks something that involves theater. Probably an actor. Could be trouble.  "Appleloos, huh. How is it over there? I was never able to travel that far west." Carrck replied.

Punk Beat smiled wide, "Of course she does! We are besties! I can't believe you're here!!" She squealed happily. She then nudged Zeta with her elbow in a teasing manor, "And who is THIS? Your special somepony~?" She mocked playfully.

 

"Well, uhh...." Lady blushed a deep red and dropped her gaze to the floor.

Zeta quickly stepped in to defend Lady. "We're just good friends right now, since we got to know eachother when we first met up. Nothing really close to a special somepony since we disagree a lot."

Secretly he gave a wink to her without Punk Beat noticing, just so that she didn't get the wrong idea about what Zeta said earlier on the train ride there.

 

(( Hey guys, im going to be gone till about 4:30 pm or so today for a dental appointment. I may have to get fillings but I don't know since its just a regular checkup. ))

"It became overrun just a little while ago and we were forced out" she said seriously. "It's a wasteland now." She looked the pony up and down. "So a detective hmm? That's pretty interesting. Not much need for it now though I suppose. No worries, I'm in the same boat. Not too many working theatres around nowadays" she laughed lightly

Just then, a memory returned to Ghost's mind. "The sword!" Ghost took out the sword that had possessed Lady last night (The sword just returned to my memory. XD)

"That sword doesn't quite look right, Stephan. Be careful with it." Chris said, worried about his brother. Ghost examined the sword for a little bit, trying to figure out how to remove it's curse. The sword then gave off a radiant glow. "Oh no. That can't be good." At that moment, Ghost's eyes rolled to the back of his head, showing only the whites, as they gave off the same glow as the sword did.

The sword has taken over Ghost's body.

Even in the barren west? I would think that it would be overrun into a wasteland. Carrick looked down, "I see, I'm sorry. Most places are full of them." Carrick gave some malice when he said them. He gave a 'heh'. "No need for the finer things in life. However, even if there was some type of case or mystery that somepony would ask. There's something bigger I'm looking for." He replied.

"what do you mean bigger?" she asked curious. "you think theres a reason all these trotters are running around?" she asked. she never really thought about it. Grand went to ask Ghost about it but saw the sword in his hooves and his eyes completely white. "oh horsefeathers, not again!" she said, not even hesitationg to buck it out of his hooves, but missed and fell. Still not quite used to the new leg. "Get that damn sword away from him!" she yelled, trying to stand up on the mechanical device

"Starburst get over here." Fire Horn shouted. Starburst leapt up onto Fire Horn's back. Starburst put up a forcefield around him and Fire Horn. Fire Horn was amazed by this. "See Daddy, i can do magic, just like mummy."

 

"Somepony sort him out!" Fire Horn shouted to the others.

When Ghost woke up, he wasn't in Trottingham. In fact, he wasn't anywhere. All he could see within eyesight is a big, black void so quite, he could hear his blood flow. "Hello??" Ghost could hear his voice echo. Just then, a mysterious voice started to speak. It only said two words; "Three days..."

Ghost had no idea what it was talking about. "What? What's in three days??" There was no answer.

Before he knew it, Ghost found himself back in Trottingham. "What... what was that?" Ghost was left with so many questions. Where did he go? Who spoke to him? What will happen in three days?

"Dammit, dammit dammit!" Gran said, finally getting to her feet." throw that sword away! melt is down and turn into jewellery for all I care. That thing is nothing but a nuisance" she said, not realizing Ghost was aware again. "That sword has gotten on my nerves once already, but I am not gonna tolerate THIS" she said, grumbling to herself and pacing in circles.

Carrick sighed at himself. He did feel an odd presence near this pony with the sword, but just as it came...it vanished. Possession? Does this sword have some type of magic powers? From the look of what had happen, it IS in the realm of possibility. "You went in to a state of unconscious just as you held your sword." Carrick deducted.  He turned to Grand. "So the sword seems to have some type of powers over ponies. Interesting." He turned to Ghost. "May I see the sword?"

Ghost stared at the sword. The effects the sword had on Lady weren't present on Ghost, though. He was still his normal self. "The sword... it took me to a dark void. All I heard was a voice saying 'three days' to me. I'm guessing that whatever is coming in three days can't be good. I need to get rid of the curse in this thing before then." Ghost then turned to the detective pony "Wait... who are you?

"No, Im sorry but this sword needs to be buried somewhere it can never be found. This sowrd belonged to an assasin who was tormenting us but we killed him. Now it looks like its still tormenting us. Its too dangerous, it seems anyone who even touches the sword goes into a strange trance-like state, and our other group member is the one that gave Ghost that gash on his side. That sword is pure evil"

Carrick gave a chuckle as he took off his fedora, "Carrck Murphy, Detective. Charmed to meet you." The detective turns his attention towards the red mare. "I wasn't saying that I touch the sword. No, I'm not a rash pony like that. I was just saying that I can get a good look at it. Maybe there is something special about this sword other than an assassin cursing a blade."

Ghost looked at Grand like she was crazy. "Look, Grand. Simply burying it won't stop it. We need to physically get rid of it's curse. Celestia knows that it won't be easy, but I'll take the burden to do it. It was my rival's sword, so I shall clean it of all of it's evil.

Carrick gave a chuckle as he took off his fedora, "Carrck Murphy, Detective. Charmed to meet you." The detective turns his attention towards the red mare. "I wasn't saying that I touch the sword. Grand eyed him vareully before using her magic to levitate the sword in front of him. "let me do the honors of holding it for you. Its not likely to affect me through levitation" she said, still watching the colt carefully. "if you ned anymore information I would be happy to inform you of everything I know" she said helpfully

"I thank you, Mademoiselle." The detective places his fedora right back on his head. He could tell that she didn't trust him all too well, but it was same for him. Not knowing a pony in this place is walking over a minefield. Carrick just took a good look at the blade in front of him. It didn't seem to have any special about it. Just a regular blade. Nothing more, nothing less. So, this blade is cursed. Probably some magic from the assassin, right? "So, this assassin." Carrick looked at Grand. "Was he a unicorn?" Carrick asked.

"Allow me to answer. Yes. Yes, he was a unicorn. He cursed the sword when he first got it so that it would only work under his wield. Anypony else who touched it would be under his control. Now that he's dead, the sword must be looking for a new master now. One that it can make chaotically evil."

"Yes, but it seemed he used herbs and incantations more than his own magic" she said, wanting to get the blade as far from the group as possible."he was no better at magic than any other regular unicorn. He was an evil pony, and this was the blade he had when we killed him"

"Hmm," Carrick muttered under his breath as he turned to the Ghost, then Grand Finale. "Sounds like a incantations to me. Maybe you could find a shaman to undo the curse? I'm not particular an expert on curses. You don't usually see any type of crime involving them." The detective rubbed his chin, "Not to mention, the 'three days.' Sounds to vague to be any good. Could be anyone having the curse is killed or maybe full possessed. OR even foreshadowing for something horrible to happen."

"Everything's fine now, Starburst." Fire Horn said. "You can lower the shield now." The shield flickered and faded away.

"Why don't we just destroy it? As in, obliterate, smash, pulverize, atomize, any other thing that will get rid of that thing for good." Fire Horn asked, hoping that his son doesn't get his hands on it, alicorn magic can be very unstable, especially at an early age.

"Hmm," Carrick muttered under his breath as he turned to the Ghost, then Grand Finale. "Sounds like a incantations to me. Maybe you could find a shaman to undo the curse? Ghost nodded. The detective makes some good points. "Zycrin used to live back in Manhattan in a hideaway I discovered long ago. If I were to go into it somehow, I could find out how he made the curse on the sword and find a way to undo it. Still, that would require me to go back to Manhattan. If it comes down to it, I'll go by myself. No reason for all of you to drop everything you're doing and go back to where we started."

Manehattan? When was the last time I've been there? Last time I checked....it was infested. Maybe it changed? I somehow doubt it.

 

"Going solo sounds like suicide, even if you were skilled enough to hide from a few of them. They'll be more in the corner. It only takes a few to bring up the whole herd of them." Carrick explained. "You need at least a few ponies to have you have your back."

"We'll come with you, me and Starburst." Fire Horn said. "I want to find my wife but that sword will only cause more pain if we don't do anything."

"So i can come with you, Daddy?" Starburst asked.

"Yes, you can, but you have to stay with me and the others at all times, no wandering off." Fire Horn replied.

Manehattan? When was the last time I've been there? Last time I checked....it was infested. Maybe it changed? I somehow doubt it.

Ghost put his hoof on Carrick's shoulder. "Alright, buddy. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm the ghost because I get through situations fast and I never make a sound when I do it. But, come to think of it, I guess it'd be nice to have at least someone else there with me. They would have to be able to protect themselves, though."

Ghost nodded. "Okay. So, so far, Fire Horn and Starburst are coming with me. Anyone else wanna come along for the ride?"

Carrck turned to Fire Horn, "Sending a kid to a place infested with them sounds like a really bad idea. They would be more of a liability if somepony had to save them. It's no place for kids." Carrick turned to Ghost, reassuring him that he was some type of ninja-pony or great assassin. "Well, I've survive this apocalypse with my two bare hoof for a whole year now. I would be more then willing. Though...I would need some supplies for a certain thing  I must do."
