"Call me silly all you want, but if you get your skin burnt to a crisp, don't look at me." Ink Drop said as he checked the viscosity of the mud, "alright, it's 'gooey' enough..."

While it seemed Fire Horn and Missy were refusing to take his advice. Well, Ink Drop has anticipating things like this, he tried to give one 'brief' explanation regarding his intention, "You know that mud are cool right? And I've seen that golem walked across this puddle of mud and..." he raised his mud covered hoof up and showed it to both Fire Horn and Missy and everyone as well, "you see that puddle? It's not boiling and this mud on my hoof right here isn't generating smoke, which makes it a very effective insulator from heat and fire itself." he gasped for air after one seemingly 'brief' explanation and added, "Any questions?" Good thing he put up a smile in the end, don't know whether it would do him any good. 

"Well... if you need an example, take elephants; how they roll in the mud to keep themselves cool under the burning sun."

"When i said i wasn't afraid to get my hooves dirty, i didn't mean i liked it." Missy mumbled, reluctantly putting her hooves into a pool of mud.

"Oh come on, it'll be good, also, it's going to better for us in the long run." Fire Horn said, while Missy tilts her hoof up and down along with him talking with a silly face.

"Alright then, everypony else and you too Stephan." Ink Drop threw a ball of mud to his own face, "Wrap your body with cloth; linen, cotton, wool or any other cloth material. And soak it up with mud."

"We need water to get more mud, anypony conjure up some water." another similar roar came from the depths of the cave, it managed to make Ink Drop distracted for a while yet it warned him of the danger that is to come, "Okay, everyone, chop-chop" he stomped his two front hooves on the solid ground, "we don't much time."

Hesitantly Zeta followed the idea Ink Drop had mentioned, but shook his head to any cloth he had. "No cloth, but i'll follow you up on getting mud. If it's for a cure then it's worth waiting to take a shower after we're done."

So he walked back to a corner and set all his armor and equipment down, then came back and waited for Missy to finish.

Missy continued delicately placing mud onto herself, she decided that wasn't fast enough so she rolled about it in, covering every part of her in semi-transparent mud. When she got up, her mane and coat were a mess.

"Ha!" Fire Horn laughed. "You look awful."

Missy whimpered. "I feel awful." Missy said quietly.

[Milk Wave 454]

Missy continued delicately placing mud onto herself, she decided that wasn't fast enough so she rolled about it in, covering every part of her in semi-transparent mud. When she got up, her mane and coat were a mess.

"Ha!" Fire Horn laughed. "You look awful." Missy whimpered.

"I feel awful." Missy said quietly.

"It's alright Missy, you look pretty fine _{though I really do want to laugh right now}, now it's my turn!"

He then jumped in and splashed around a few times, just before his front left hoof gave out and he fell in the mud puddle face first. That instantly changed his mood a good bit, slowly getting up and sighing. "Damnit, it's in my eye.."

"Not a cure, my dear Zeta... It's a protective layer of insulation from fire. And..." Ink was too late to warn Zeta about getting mud in to the eye; he sneered as he looked as Zeta busily rubbed his eyes, "Ooh... too late, just rinse it with water to prevent irritation."

"I recall you saying, me being afraid to get my hooves dirty," Ink Drop looked at the mud-covered Missy with a slight smile "looks like the fact says otherwise." and one smile slowly appeared on Ink's face.

Hearing her saying "I feel awful." quietly, so Ink decided to cheer Missy up, "You know, I read some magazine back before this and it said that some stallion..." he winked at Fire Horn, "well, never mind, he knows... I think.

Grand shook her head as she rebandaged the wounds. "You aren't hurt anywhere else are you"" she said, doing another check. Just a fever. "What a shame you've gotten sick in such horrid conditions" she said, standing up. "... If you don't want to give me an answer then don't, but... May I ask who you were really confessing your live to? Because I have a feeling it wasnt me who you had in mind"

Now fully covered with mud and some parts of his body wrapped in linen, Ink approached Hearth whom was being tended by Grand, "How is his condition now?" he asked calmly, after all, he had witnessed something like this at Manehattan. "His one tough pony... however I still wonder though, did he actually mean that he loved you?" always with that smug face of his when it came to asking question that was irrelevant to the time being, "Nah, actually just ignored that, okay, be ready to get muddy."

Grand replied "no, just a bit of a fev- wait what do you mean by muddy? Ugh, yuc- just be caEWWWW alright that's enough" "she said, now all muddy. She shuddered. "I wasn't planning on leaving hearth in his own, who is unable to walk at the moment, so I wasn't going to be leaving to wherever the rest if you crazies" she said, Hal teasing, half serious. She fidgeted trying to not wipe the mud off

Water, water..

After rummaging through the supplies, he started to slowly pour water over/in his eye to get the mud out. Thankfully it helped as he closed the lid and continued to roll himself in mud, making sure his eyes were closed shut before doing so.

Then he stood up and let it drip off him a little before walking away. "Alright, now where is the cloth again?

Ink slapped himself on his forehead, "Oh come on!" he said rather loud, "Why do I need to explain everything all over again to everypony that I meet... first Applejack, and that family at Manehattan, and at Balti - " Ink stopped talking directly, thinking that it was no use on complaining, "Ignore that first one, just do what I say, and... it's a 'protective insulation against fire', try and use the cool terms please?" he always been like that, ever since he moved from Ponyville to Manehattan before the outbreak.

Fire Horn was still laughing at Missy and her messiness, Missy's frown turned into a smirk, as she pulled Fire Horn into the puddle of mud.
"Who's laughing now?" Missy asked, before getting some mud thrown in her face.
"You are it seems." Fire Horn answered, both of them rolling in mud and laughing their heads off.

"if you two are done i need to coat my self in mud" steel said as he stuck his hoof in the mud and smeard it on himself while thinking of teh many times he had smeared mud, ash and other things on himself to avoid injury or detection "once he had covered himself he walked back to the pile of rocks that was the magma golem and dug thru it trying to find more obsibinon

Almost all of the group members were prepared, their bodies were covered with mud enough to protect them from a convection transferred heat, unfortunately, it won't be enough to protect them from a direct blast of fire. Somehow, Ink got distracted by something ; something that wasn't present there but he could feel the traces amounts of its existence surrounding him, "Infrasound?" he immediately fell back to a scientific statement, "could be... magma boiling underneath us causing vibration which vibrates through the rocks and noise that bounces of the walls of this cave, yet this feeling- " he soon realize after the sound of a pair of fleshy wings flapping about; echoing throughout the cave. Luckily, it turned out to be the obsidian tumbling down from the pile of remains. It was unclear whether Ink was worried, afraid or saddened; he seemed to be waiting for something.

Missy got up out of the mud puddle satisfied that she was covered enough, she went to talk to Grand.

"Hey, how's Hearth doing? Is he alright?" Missy asked.

 

Fire decided to take this opportunity to do something he had held off long enough.
"Ink, i need to talk to you about something." Fire Horn said, shoving Ink Drop further into the cave.

"Now, tell me, what exactly was that pirate captain talking about, what have you done, Ink Drop?"

"He should be fine, though he's coming down with a fever and he can't walk until his hooves heal a bit more." She said, checking his vitals again. "What have you guys found in the cave? You haven't happened to find anything cool for hearths fever have you?" She asked, hoping for a positive answer

"I'm sorry, the only thing we've found down there is a surprisingly cold pool of mud and a monster that tried to kill Fire Horn, so....yeah." Missy said, she sat down and covered her face with her hooves. "I really hope he doesn't take a turn for the worse, i can't stand any more ponies dying, not now, not when we're so close to fixing this."

Grand pitcher hoof in missy. "I promise he will be fine, it's just a minor fever, it'll only last a day. Would one if you mind getting me a bit of that mud? It would help lower hearths temperature. It'll also soothe his hooves." She asked, looking at the burnt hooves

"I wouldn't recommend applying the mud directly to the hooves, the skin is burnt off and therefore could cause an infection of some kind." Missy said. "I don't know what else you can use but you definitely can't use unclean substances."

Being done with his mud and all, Zeta examined Hearth's condition. He was thankful of what plants they had before when he was in a similar situation, having frostbite on his legs and all.. But all they had now was that cool mud and no way to really treat it.

"Is there anything I could do to help, Grand..?"

" I would but Missy is right if infection sets in than he is dine for unless you have a plant for that."steel said then he thought of something " here use this water it should still be cool enough" steel said as he handed grand his jug of water
