Ponies From Above

Link to RP thread:

Link to the OOC thread (Will look the same as this, because I'm an idiot and didn't put this in OOC):

Background

The Stellar Imperium. Once a proud and majestic empire, the Imperium was the galactic leader in art and progress for many thousands of years, and the ponies that lived under it's banner were happy and content. They were a peaceful empire too, only resorting to violence as a last resort, they welcomed all aliens they encountered with the hoof of friendship, such was their peaceful way. At it's height, the Stellar Imperium held over 1000 planets, one such planet being New Equestria, named after their home-world for it's magnificent beauty.

But alas, the golden age of the Imperium could not last forever. Their borders were slowly chipped away by hostile aliens, leaving many planets destroyed or cut off. The technological advancements they had enjoyed for years ground to a halt, and they went into terrible economic and social recession. Many ponies lived in extreme poverty, and feudalism became the main form of government on many worlds. But most devastating of all was the sudden disappearance of their beloved leader, the Alicorn Princess Stellar.

Control of the crumbling Imperium was handed to the Alicorn council, a group of Alicorns who owned sectors of the Imperium and governed them in the Princesses name. But they were greedy and selfish, and only cared about themselves. Over the years, the Imperium was reformed, reorganized and rebuilt, but at a terrible cost. It was now a nightmarish dictatorship. Xenophobia and racism run rampant.

Eventually, after thousands of years of Exile, New Equestria (Now known simply as Equestria) was rediscovered by the Imperium. The planets inhabitants were shocked, and had long since forgotten that they had even been part of the empire, the clues were either lost or locked away. None were more surprised than the ruling sisters, Princesses Luna and Celestia. Both had been the rulers of the original Imperial government of New Equestria, and both had been responsible for removing all trace of the Imperium from the planet after they were abandoned. They had believed that it would be better that no-pony knew the truth. A fresh start, so to speak. Now the Imperium was knocking on their door, and it was most definatley not the same one they remembered.

Threatened by the authority of not one, but four new Alicorns, the Alicorn council took the quick decision that New Equestria must be destroyed. Tasking the most bloodthirsty of their number, Grand-Marshal Ironhorn to lead an army of 100,000 Soldiers and 1,000 Knights to wipe out the Alicorn Princesses, subjugate the populace, and raze the planet to ensure no taint remains. However, this is the last straw for many Imperial soldiers, and even some Knights in a string of genocidal campaigns against other ponies. Defection rates are estimated to be very high.

Military Factions

The Royal Guard/Wonderbolts: The Elite Canterlot Royal Guard, lead by Shining Armor is the closest thing to an official army Equestria has needed for the past 1000 years. Now the Juggernaut that is the Imperial Army looms overhead, the Royal guard will need all it's skill and tactics if it is to even have a chance of beating back the enemy.

The Resistance: The resistance was created to assist the hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned Royal Guard. Armed with bravery, ingenuity, and a refusal to let their home burn, the Resistance are some of the most determined fighters on the battlefield. The resistance will accept defecting Imperial soldiers.

The Imperial Army: Made up mainly of Earth and Unicorn Peasant Soldiers, the Imperial Army is the Hammer of the Stellar Imperium. What they lack in skill, they make up for in sheer numbers and superior technology. They are armed with helmet mounted laser guns and grenades.

The Pegasi Leigon: Made up entirely of the winged Pegasi and lead by Commander Khanate, the Pegasi leigon is the Imperium's fast attack force. They are unique in that they do not have Unicorn in commanding roles, which has lead to many traditionalists to call for it to be disbanded. Like the Imperial Army, they lack skill but make up for it with numbers. They wear much lighter armor than Imperial Army soldiers, and are armed with a helmet mounted laser gun.

The Knights: Consisting of Unicorn the unicorn nobles, the Knight's order used to be based on principles such as Honor and chivalry. No longer. The Imperial Knight's charge into battle armed with power armor and deadly battle magic. They are rarely seen in groups, more commonly are they seen screaming orders at the peasant soldiers under their command.

Rules of the RP

Rule 1 - Joining a faction is not necessary. You could just be an innocent bystander if you want.
Rule 2 - The Resistance, The Imperial Army, and the Pegasi Legion are the only factions that can be joined after the RP starts.
Rule 3 - If Roleplaying as Canon characters (e.g. Twilight Sparkle) you must stay in character.
Rule 4 - Don't create something or somepony OP.

Rule 5 - No Mary Sues

Rule 6 - Keep consistent tenses.

Rule 7 - Don't kill other RPers without permission.

Rule 8 - Put OOC text in Brackets, or some other way to make it clear.

Rule 9 - Have Fun! (Yeah cheesy, I know.)

                                                                              Player List

1 - Silent Dawn - Broken Cloud

2 - Silent Dawn - Sunny Dew (Resistance)

3 - Spess - Dungeon Master and Count Von Hoof (Knights)

4 - Cherry Bob-omb - Chardz (Resistance)

If you want to join, just post a link to your character (or just say what canon character you plan on using if you want to RP as a canon character) and the faction you want to join, and I'll tell you if your in or not, or what you need to change to get in. If you don't have a character, that's fine. Just post a name, age, and a short description of your character, and I'll tell you if it's OK.

I think that's everything.

Broken Cloud

Not in a faction, but Fallen could easily make her side with the Imperial Knights somewhere into the RP, for something in exchange.... Or just be a part in kiling NPC ponies. Neither Broken nor Fallen are very loyal and Fallen likes murder.

And:

Sunny Dew

Resistance; She is one of Celestia's students.

Can i put OOC like ((this))? I'm more used to it and I'll constantly forget. Also, it's more commonly used that way.

Faction: Praetorian Knights, Spy

(picklebarrel kumquat picklebarrel kumquat picklebarrel kumquat picklebarrel kumquat )

I'm not sure what you mean by Spy. The Knights don't really sneek around, more they charge around shouting at their soldier's in suits of armor. Think medieval knights. Although I'm sure that the imperial's have some sort of Espionage network that they could use against Equestria.

Also, if she was a Knight, I doubt she would be practicing first aid on common soldiers. If you can work round these things, then by all means, you're in.

Nice OCs! You're in. And yes, putting OOC text like ((this)) is fine.

P.S. I've decided to split the Praetorian Knights into two factions, the Knights and the Praetorians. The Knights are essentially the same thing, but the Praetorians something different that I'll introduce later in the RP. For the moment the Praetorians are non playable.

P.P.S I'm really happy people are interested in this, and I'm currently working on some concept art and backstory to go with the RP. I'll also re-format the main post to make it look...less horrible. Hopefully we can get alot of people on board with this to make it a great RP. I'll message you guys when the actual RP starts.
