"I-I think I'm better..." Blazing said. He was almost completely better, but still not completely. He decided it would be best to just say that he was better, seeing as the rest would probably just go away on it's own. Wait... Very few ponies get to feel her hugs? That actually makes me feel kind of special... He thought.

 

 

"Now come now, you don't sound entirely sure with yourself." She breaks the hug to look him straight in the eye. "Now I want you to be completely honest with me, are you ok? I don't want you to tell me you're ok then as soon as I turn my back you just break down without somepony to help you."

"I'm okay, don't worry so much..." Blazing said. She is way too good at this... I'm gonna need to work on hiding my emotions a bit better... Just for awhile. He thought. He had never met anypony who was this good with emotions, so he had never had to try this hard to hide it.

Esme looked back at him. "Well, uh, I don't really like it, but my full name is Esmerelda Green. Wh-what about you? Dog Ears can't be your birth name, can it? Your parents would have to be pretty cruel to do that." Esme turned away prominently. She can't believe she had just said that, making fun of his name. But, I mean, naming your child after their mutation just didn't seem right. I'm a jerk.

Dog Ears laughed a little. "I don't know I think that sounds nice. And... yes Dog Ears isn't my real name. My real name.... wow I haven't said this in so long... My name is Honey Grin. Back in school, ponies made fun of me for my ears. They started calling me Dog Ears to try and bring me down. So I did something they didn't expect. I adopted the name as my own. If someone called me Dog Ears I would respond to it. I told the teachers to call me Dog Ears. And it stuck after all these years, and this is the first time in a while that my real name has been said out loud..." Dog Ears stopped there. He didn't know why he just unloaded the history of his name to Esme. Just saying Honey Grin would have been enough.

Esme felt immensely relieved that he wasn't offended. She looked back over with a smile, closed eyes, and a bit of blush still lingering on her cheeks. She opened her eyes, and her face turned more neutral. "I think that's a great name! Is it ok if I call you that... Honey Grin?"

Dog Ears almost flinched when he heard the name. It was so alien to him, and when he heard it addressed towards him, it felt weird. "Um... I would prefer if you didn't... It's just so foreign to me now... But you can call me Grin if you want..." Dog Ears was feeling weird. If she starts calling me that then ponies will ask questions and I'll have t tell them too. But I like Dog Ears. It's... it's my name... Dog Ears had never been so conflicted on something so small as a name. Why was he making a big deal out of it? It's just a name...

Esme smiled and hugged him again. The sun had almost completely disappeared over the horizon, the last bits of light glinting off the water before fading into the darkness. The two stood there, Esme reveling in the soft coat and nice smell of the stallion. She pulled away after a few moments and looked into his eyes. "Thanks, Grin. We should probably head inside, now. I mean, it's starting to get dark now. Although," She looked up at the sky, "The stars are pretty tonight." She leaned on him slightly and yawned. "But I'm kinda tired."

((OOC: I think now's kinda the time to actually get this love thing on the road. I mean, seriously.))

Dog Ears didn't know what to do. He still wasn't sure if he really liked Esme yet, but she was coming on to him strong. He had ever had a marefriend before, so he didn't know what he was supposed to do. "U-um yea I guess..." was all he could manage to say. He felt very nervous, despite not being a normally nervous pony.

What is this feeling I get when around him? *Sigh* Maybe I just need some fresh air, that's probley it." After finishing her shower she dries herself off and brushes her fur so that it is smothed down and brushes her mane and tail into place. She then walks back out to greet blazing again. "Alright, ready to go at any time you are."

Well, ok I trust you." She was still a little sceptical but desided not to press him too much. "Well, lets get going then." After walking outside she noticed that there are a few places they can go. "Hmmm, well, where would you like to go? It looks like we could go to the beach, a garden, and it apears like there is a few cafes in the area. Any preferences?"

"It doesn't matter to me... Whatever you want to do works." Blazing said. It was a bad habit of his, never being able to choose anything. He always had to let other ponies choose unless he was alone. Although maybe the beach would be nice... But we'll save that for later. He thought.

And I can't grow plants to save my life so it is nice to see other ponies plants, it shows me what I could have done. And I find flowers pretty."

"Well alright, let's go then shall we." Both Charcoal and Blazing walked down to the garden together. The garden is directly outside of the hotel so it is quite convenient. "It's going to get dark soon, I don't mind the dark but if you don't want to stay out here after it gets dark I won't stop you."
