I just started watching The Pacific and so far its an AMAZING series. I see myself as Sledge because he came from what looks like rich family, but decided to serve instead, If you haven't seen it yet then GET IT (if your interested in movies like that) it was worth it and it really helps me with my WWII loadout to kinda get into that mind set, you know? but it was amazing, very cool and recommend it to everypony :)

I thought it was better then band of brothers, I think it really shows the horror of war. It's more dark and depressing then it's European Counterpart.

Sledgehammer is awesome :3.

yea, Band of Brothers was kinda boring at parts, and yes I agree, It does show the horror of war, and it makes you almost feel that you there to witness the deaths, and the war itself.

It's not as compelling as Band of Brothers, in my opinion, but it's very good. The war in the Pacific was so different from Europe, and they approached the storytelling different from the way they told the story in BoB.

Band of Brothers and The Pacific both deserve a 10 out of 10, solely and importantly because of the fact that they both SHOW and TELL that war isn't just black and white, aka: "good guys" v.s "bad guys".

Now i'm just waiting for a german version of Band of Brothers, or a japanese version of The Pacific, so we could see their point of view.

There is a movie about the Japanese perspective on Iwo Jima called Letters from Iwo Jima.

@,

Yeah, I know about that one. Just wished there was a mini series of it, like The Pacific.

I'm just waiting for another WWII mini seris to turn up. We really need to get back on that topic in films. You just can't get that same quality with any other war film than one set in WWII.
