Arsen 108 August 8, 2013 Share August 8, 2013 (edited) Hello everyone and welcome to my art thread! I recently purchased a Wacom tablet so I plan to start making art regularly. Arsen 108 August 9, 2013 Author Share August 9, 2013 (edited) Just finished up this sketch. Took a good 2 or so hours. Should be finished tomorrow. After this I'll be drawing Spike then using them all (excluding my OC) in a scene of sorts. Rainbow Skywalker 642 August 9, 2013 Share August 9, 2013 Wow, I gotta say the first one is actually decent without a tablet. The Pinkie Pie could use an improvement with shading, but other than that I'd say it's great. I can't wait to see that Rarity sketch colored. 1 Signature by Azura みぞれ 恋人 (:
~Chaos~ 3,968 August 9, 2013 Share August 9, 2013 Hey these are looking pretty nice! I too have a tablet the same as you, and I know you have to get used to it, looks like you are getting the hang of it, nicely done! Keep it up!
MelancholicMemory 2,027 August 9, 2013 Share August 9, 2013 Although the shapes can be a bit off, overall this is fabulous work. I love them. They get better as you go down, in my opinion. I love the last pic of Rarity. Great work!
Silverwisp the Bard 2,353 August 9, 2013 Share August 9, 2013 (edited) You got a good linework going there, much better than I manage on a tablet. The shading seems a bit off though, as do the proportions on the Pinkie (neck, manesize) and RD (headshape, wings) pics, I assume you trace or copied these poses, which is generally a bad idea, as it is really easy to slip into uncanny valley territory. That being said, the Rarity pic looks just about perfect (maybe curve the nose a bit more upward). I'll keep my eye on this thread. Arsen 108 August 10, 2013 Author Share August 10, 2013 (edited) Hey these are looking pretty nice! I too have a tablet the same as you, and I know you have to get used to it, looks like you are getting the hang of it, nicely done! Keep it up! Thanks! I'm progressively getting better aha. It certainly takes a lot of practice. You got a good linework going there, much better than I manage on a tablet. Yeah proportions are a bit hard. What I do is mirror the pose on one monitor and draw it on another. I try to fix proportional errors within the defined sketch but it doesn't always work out the way I like. You can see in the sketch pictures both the original (semi transparent) and defined sketches. Very little change is made the majority of the time. I would like to make it clear that I don't trace. That's an extremely offensive accusation actually. It's not really fair for you to make such harsh assumptions . Wow, I gotta say the first one is actually decent without a tablet. The Pinkie Pie could use an improvement with shading, but other than that I'd say it's great. I can't wait to see that Rarity sketch colored. Thanks, it means a lot. I just slightly changed the shading on Pinkie so I believe it looks a bit better now. Well, I hope it does anyway aha.
