@,

Raptor chuckled. "You're not getting fat and lazy yet. But if you don't keep going out and training like we did today, this-" He poked her in the stomach, "-is going to get a lot bigger and squishier. I have to admit, when you were talking about finding a mate last night, it had me a bit worried. I wouldn't want someone like you to waste their lives growing fat and useless for anything other than having someone's babies."

@@Pripyat Pony,

Asteron shrugged. "Maybe you're right. I met the princesses a few times when I was serving in the military. They have good hearts, they're just... stuck in their ways a little bit."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl giggled when Raptor poked her stomach.

"And that's why I left... what, five years ago? I was having some.... pride issues. Well, I guess you would call them family issues. Do griffons call them that?" Syl said, getting distracted.

Family issues is an understatement, Sylvanas Windrunner of the Sin'dorei.

@,

Raptor thought for a while. "I don't think griffons really call them anything. We don't much concern ourselves with that stuff. Not in my village, anyway. If there's a problem, you fight over it and then move on. We don't generally keep very close family ties anyway. But I think I understand what you mean."

@@Alex Kennedy,

There is no way you could understand what I mean.

Syl's front claws became coming out and going back as she talked.

"I think I might have to go back to Azeroth eventually. Malie and my father must be unhappy with me. If I do go back, maybe you could come with me." Syl said, then gave a weak smile.

@,

Raptor smiled and put a talon on her shoulder comfortingly. "You don't need to get so nervous about it. I'd gladly go there with you if you wanted to have me along. We'll show them all what a great warrior you turned out to be, and how they completely underestimated you. Of course, you don't have to go back, you know. Not if you don't want to. But whatever you do, I'll follow you. I've gotten too used to having you around to let you go wandering off without me."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl chuckled nervously.

"Maybe you could just live with my family. As long as you don't associate with the hippogriffs, you're good." Syl said.

They certainly won't be happy with me, not after what I did.... hopefully Mu'sha is no longer in rule... Malie would go easier on me.

((Mu'sha is Azerothian for father))

Raptor shrugged. "That might not be an entirely bad idea. Although I can't say I'm all too fond of your family. You deserved better treatment than what they gave you. If they had been a better family to you, perhaps you never would have left. But I guess it's not my place to say such things about your family, really."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl half smiled.

"Well, you're my family now, so you can say whatever you want. And maybe we could take some people from the city with us. They would all be so happy." Syl said.

If Mu'sha denies them entrance, I'll deny him myself. After all, daughters are valuable.

Raptor was lost in thought for a time. "You know, that's not such a bad idea at all. It certainly couldn't be any worse than staying here, could it? But... are you sure you even want to go back? I mean, I always thought you weren't on very good terms with your family or your people in general when you left."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl's claws began to go in and out.

"If it meant helping the people of this city, I would go back. This city is in bad shape... I want to help the people in it."

Even if it means I have to do something back home I'd rather not... Syl added in thought. I just hope Mallie is in charge...

Raptor's talon gripped her shoulder a little tighter. "What is it that you're so nervous about? It's not like you have to go back to your homeland right away, if at all. The city will find it's way somehow with or without the two of us helping to make it so. I'm just concerned about taking care of you, and I don't want you to go back if you're not sure you're ready."

Syl nodded, a smile on her face. She felt Raptor's talon grip tighter.

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see." She said.

((Evening. Raptor basically said that they didn't really have anything else to do until it was time for them to go to bed, hence them having this conversation.))

Raptor nodded, satisfied for the time being even though he still wondered what was worrying her so much. "Very well. Um... I'm not really good at this sort of thing, but... if you need to talk to someone about anything, just remember I'm always here, and I'm happy to listen. I can't help if you don't tell me, you know?"

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl was surprised at Raptor's words. She didn't think Raptor was interested in feelings.

"I'll... keep that in mind." Syl said kind of awkwardly. What she wanted to say was

See, I'm actually Wyvern royalty, from a line called the Sin'dorei. The reason I left Azeroth was because my Mu'sha wanted me to get married to some other royal family, and I didn't want to. So I left. I hope to return one day when Malie is in charge so I won't have to get married.

But of course, Syl didn't say that.

Raptor nodded. "Alright then. It's just, I know I can be harsh sometimes, and perhaps not as approachable as I probably should be, but I really do care about you, and I want you to thrive and be happy. So if there's ever anything wrong, I don't want you to be afraid to mention it."

@@Alex Kennedy,

Syl nodded and yawned once again, and got up from her spot on the couch. She gave a quick hug to Raptor then went to her room, counting the steps to her bed. That didn't stop her from ramming her face into the bed, though. Letting out a string of Azerothian profanities, she climbed in a wrapped herself in the blankets, and fell asleep quickly.

@@Alex Kennedy, "And don't I know it," Diego replied, ruefully. "They're still stuck on the idea that chaos magic is bad, which was the reason I was exiled. They chose to pander to the fears of a bunch of idiotic ponies who couldn't accept me, rather than just telling them to quit being so dramatic."

Raptor couldn't help but chuckle softly when he heard her crash into her bed. Still, it was kind of his job to at least act like he was concerned. "Are you alright, Syl?"

@@Pripyat Pony,

@@Alex Kennedy, "Perhaps everypony here ought to get together and have a proper meeting," Diego replied. "I couldn't call it; I'm not a leader, and I admit that, honestly. But we can't just go on as we are; sooner or later, something will give and the citizens here will either fight amongst themselves or somepony will suggest an invasion force. Everypony is on edge."

Raptor couldn't help but chuckle softly a little at that. "I'm sorry, I thought you were supposed to be a warrior. I didn't know you needed everything in the apartment to be child-proofed for you. I guess going to bed is a lot harder than hunting deer, isn't it?"

Asteron shrugged. "Perhaps it would be a good idea, but this city has never had any real leaders. I don't know who it would be that could call a meeting like that and actually get people to show up. And even if they could, it would take a pretty amazing leader to get everyone to work together."
