 It actually leaves pretty good suspense too, so it's not an outright awful thing, just agitating when it first happens.

Smash, you called Scratch's one a "rush job", pretty unfair if he put a lot of effort into it. Yes, I know it's your opinion, but maybe your should keep it to yourself rather than basically saying that to his face. 
 
Maybe you shouldn't expect so much of your work next time, just a thought.

 
I did spend a lot of time on it. The vinyl image I used was so big in size (about 1200x1200 pixels originally), that when I shrunk it I had to completely trace over it due to loss of black lines. It also took a lot of time to draw the varying glow effects present in it as the program I used to do it does not have a built in glow tool. The theme of mine was summer which I think I pulled off quite well if I do say so my self, after all it did place 2nd so obviously some people agree with me.
