I heavily recommend strategy games like Stellaris or Hearts of Iron IV if you're into that sort of thing. Most Paradox games are gems.

Nope. It's a fad that will most likely die out on a year or two in my opinion. They have very little room to move in terms of diversifying gameplay and because of this reason I feel the battle royale style will slowly become stale. Battle Royale games are just the latest in thing, just like how survival games were a few years ago.

Not sure if this counts as a holiday but the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held in Gloucester, England where people race down a large hill chasing after a large cheese wheel... It's actually received international attention I feel it represents us Brits in a positive, goofy way for a change.
