One of my favorites. :derp:

I don't normally like Mister Davey because he's the one that did Cupcakes HD and Smile HD, but that did crack me up.Β

Also when I realized my post looked blank, that's when I decided to leave it alone and see if anyone would poke at it. :derp:

I refuse to let go until you're impressed.
I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.

Well, I just took a look for myself.

Inkscape let's you have lines that are think on one end and thin on the other, but not really control what it does in between.

(but maybe I just don't find it)

Yeah, there are ways to control it, but they're really complicated and take a while to do

And Adobe Illustrator has a width tool since CS5, that let's you click & drag at any point of a line to change the thickness at that point.

Actually, I just found this: since Inkscape 0.91, there is a path effect called "powerstroke" that let's you basically do that, just by dragging nodes around like editing a bΓ©zier curve

Draw a path, select it, go to path->patheffects, add a new path effect "power stroke", set fill to the color you want, set outline to none, go into edit mode and you should find pink nodes you can drag around to edit the thinkness, play around with the settings (better not use catmull-rom while still editing, it's expensive as hell)

It's an interpolation method, looks extremely good, but will affect performance when you try to change stuff around (at least it did for me right now)

Β

If you want the maths behind it, wikipedia has it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centripetal_Catmull%E2%80%93Rom_spline :derp:

Well okay then, maybe it was just me :derp:
(strange, didn't do it now when I tried again... whatever)

Β

Anyway, it's sorta late, I'll be heading off, hope you can get stuff to work the way you want with that, if not... idk :<
