Too bad we can't have something like the NHS. I went to the hospital with some chest pain, was there 4 hours, and was sent home after being told nothing was wrong with me. Four weeks later, I was billed $700, $15, and another $130 all on separate bills. I can only imagine what people who are battling cancer are going through. 

Healthcare in America is fucked. But none of these old farts want to socialize it because they were conditioned in the sixties and anything socialist is just evil to them. 

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't have to run through your life savings when something goes wrong. At least insurance should cover a lot more than what it does. Shouldn't break the bank to go to the hospital for four frickin hours. It was convenient that I got my tax return at that time tho. It was also convenient that I got my tuition bill, but the price of education in America is an argument for another day.

I guess I fall somewhere in between capitalist and socialist. 

I find it okay to profit off people who need cars, fuel, food, etc. But it is not okay to profit off people's misery. Such as privatized hospitals and prisons. That is outright ridiculous.
