My drug counselor was right he was very right about what he told us. First day I was in rehab he told us this.

"Everything has a Silver Lining in it, even us doing drugs! that has one hell of a silver lining. Now everyone chill, now here is the silver lining in it, because now we can tell and show others that drugs do no good, but make your life hard."

Now I'm going to look at the bad things in my life and find the silver lining it in,

My friend KC dying, Now he cant suffer anymore. He cant keep doing those things anymore, and no one

can hurt him ever again, R.I.P my old friend..

My Job it sucks, but now I can help my family with bills, get my wife anything she wants! I can buy MLP stuff!

I have been cheated on by 13/14 of my girlfriends, my wife is the only who has never hurt me like that. 12 of the I walked in on, only one of them told me about it. All 13 of them where with one of my best friends, and one of them cheated on me on the day KC die too. They cant hurt me anymore, it happened to me and not to some other poor soul who would have only taken their life.

I have had nightmare so bad that I wake up screaming, the screams I hear, the things I must see in them. For 12years now nonstop, if I'm lucky I get a good one. That I can handle it, I'm not going to lose my mind and go out and hurt people because of my nightmares, and thank Celestia its me and not someone else I don't wish those nightmares on anyone...

As you can see even with all those bad things I can still find the good in them, I didn't talk about all of the bad things some I cant talk about it, its just to much for me.

Anyway let me hear all those bad things and lets find the silver lining in them! Because it is there! you just need to look!

You and your drug counselor are totally right, although I never took the time to think much about it.  Even if when I made a B in math instead of an A last year, it only pushed me to study harder during this semester.  It is kind of bad that such an event happened in the first place, but hey, at least it ain't all bad.

One thing I frown on though, is finding the silver lining to things I have done to other people that I highly regret.  I once pushed a girl in 2nd grade, and she got mad at me and cried.  Minor incident, I know, but ever since then the girl has haunted my dreams and nightmares; making me think of the monster I truly am.

So, I hate to be the antagonistic voice in this situation, but where is the silver lining in things which one has done upon others?

First off, Im one of those people who is very regretful after doing something wrong, but I am VERY happy that you are able to tell yourself this even when bad gets worse, you are a very strong person, I thank you for letting people hearing you, and not taking your life. *salutes*

I believe nearly religiously in the silver lining, as a major part of my overarching optimistic philosophy/ policy. For everything bad that happens, I can think of at least one good thing that came of it. Some examples:

  • I didn't do as well as I'd hoped on a test. Now I know my mistakes so I can correct them in the future.
  • My computer had 98 trojans after a scan. Remove them, and my computer's like new again.
  • Break a bone? Now it grows back twice as strong.
  • I lost something important to me. If gives me something to look for, and a sense of accomplishment when I find it.
  • My brake lines started leaking. Get them fixed, and I'm good as new again.
  • Yellow Skittles? ...I got nothin'.

Indeed.

I am the kind of guy who will forgive and forget to everything, unless if it's me.

A single mistake will haunt me my whole entire life. This is seriously horrible, but now I rarely even do any mistakes anymore.

One exemple... There was this guy bullying me at school. He got very low self-esteem, terribly low. And he have a bunch of problems with his father, and he have bad friends. What I did is complaint at the director. He got even more trouble with his father. And now I feel so bad for this, he left me alone, but he is still haunting me, inside. I just hope he realizes one day...
