[Feedback Required] Would You Read This?

My darling little potato minions, it is I, your motherly neighborhood stalker potato queen, come with yet again another thread asking the opinions of people!

 

If you have been following my status updates with the lazy eye I know you have, you might be aware that I have become severely addicted to summertime's #1 guiltiest pleasure TV show, Big Brother. Obsessively watching the reruns and squealing over the characters, its been terrible addiction for me -- mostly because its so bad. 

 

Now, here's my thought: If I were to write a Big Brother style fanfiction, involving ponies, would anyone read it? 

 

Namely, would you read it if it involved these ponies?

 

 

Here's the situation:

 

I don't want to add that many of the Mane Six, namely because there would be a storm of votes for them. I rather want the votes to be somewhat even, although putting in characters like Derpy and Trixie is just asking for trouble. 

 

Now, this story hasn't even been written. This is just to wonder whether any of you would be interested in something like this. Your reading would also require your participation, as you would need to vote to eliminate two of the nominated characters. 

 

Each time the story is updated, there will be competitions involving the ponies and two ponies up for elimination. You would have to pick one of the two, unless one of them wins the Power of Veto. 

 

(Since I'm the author, I get to pick who goes up. XD)

 

So, any thoughts? Any interest? And hatred or emotions at all?

Well-as someone who has never watched 'Big Brother', I can't say I know for sure what your fanfic would be about-but by the sound of it, it's similar to 'Survivor'.

 

Sure I'll read it. For me though, it's more about the creativity that you're putting into it than the storyline. Anyone who's willing to put the energy into making something that wasn't there before has an instant audience in me. Go for it.

@Thunderchild, ah, you haven't been exposed to the cigarettes of television  terrible for you and will probably get you killed, but unfortunately addicting. Big Brother is a television show where sixteen people are kept in one house for many months and participate in competitions. They specifically pick people of different backstories and religions to get friction between everyone. There's "showmances" where a couple hooks up for the show and usually never speaks to each other again. It is essentially like Survivor, but cleaner and no loincloths. (Usually. ^^)

Of course I would read it not only does it have Big Brother in it, it also has a show that I admire. I'll give it a shot to definitely read.

Earl, this sounds AMAZING!!!  Now granted, I despise reality TV with the heat of a thousand suns burning a glorious path of destruction through galaxy after galaxy all over the cosmos, BUT a fanfiction parodying reality television with ponies to boot?  That sounds simply BRILLIANT!!!  Not even sure how you're going to pull it off if you choose to pursue this, but I'm sure you could and if you choose to do so I know I'll be following it every step of the way!!!

As to the show, it doesn't really sound like my cup of tea, but who knows? Your fanfic sounds much more interesting in the format, and I'll definitely be interested to read it.

Well, I don't really know how good of a writer you are since I've never seen any of your work, but I would still read it. Even though I've never watched the show, I think I understand it, and I think this would be an interesting read. So, yeah, I'd read it. If you do end up writing it, good luck!

, I've moved your thread to Creative Resources since you're not actually posting any of your fic yet, but are looking for feedback on the idea. As for me, I'd probably give it a go . I'm not very familiar with Big Brother, but it sounds like a fun concept and I'd look forward to seeing how it'd end up.
