Sunset Shimmer - Twilight Sparkle: Coincidence?

A lot of people noticed that Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle mean the same thing. Most think it's a coincidence, but there might be more to it.

 

1. Sunset shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, both Celestia's protegé.

 

2. Sunset Shimmer seemed to not have a human counterpart, even though the two dimensions balance each other out, this might go paired with the fact that (3):

 

3. Sunset Shimmer's cutie mark is a variation of Ying/Yang, the balance. She might have a lot more to do with other dimensions than we know.

 

4. After her defeat, Sunset Shimmer seemed full of confusion, and mainly cleansed of evil. She might've actually not been herself that whole time, but possessed by some force. To eliminate a threat to evil plans? As an evil plan? Who's here to tell...

Both of them do have some similar traits except taking over the world. A weird coincidence where both of them are Celestia's proteges while Sunset went down the dark path.

hm. never thought of that. i thought of her as just being a much younger princess celestia. very powerful magic, turns to the dark side because she doesn't feel like she's getting what she truly wants, wreaks havoc, is attacked by a rainbow, and is almost instantly forgived afterwards.

Well, I certainly don't think it's coincidence. In fact, I think that Sunset Shimmer is going to become the Twilight Sparkle of the EG world.

Maybe Sunset represents what Twilight might have become if she had continued with her anti social ways,which also leads to some potential fridge horror...

Well, really, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle both had what Celestia was looking for in them. Perhaps Celestia sensed that she would find a unicorn that "shines" in her magical ability, mistook Sunset Shimmer for that unicorn, and then found Twilight Sparkle to be the one she was looking for.

This is why I would love to see Shimmer in the actual show, at least once, though that won't happen given that it would be impossible without mentioning the events of the non-canon EqG, unless they figure out something. I feel that there is a lot more to the character that we cannot clearly see. Speculation is a toughy, since we cannot truly know. It makes me want to know.

This makes sense. If she had not embraced friendship, she would not have had much to care for, thus leading to potential corruption. Then again. there was Spike....Huh....She had not discovered the magic of friendship that whole time and yet, there was Spike....hmm.....

I honestly think that there is still gonna be a lot of confusion in the EG world for one reason.

 

Remember in the beginning where someone was like, "Is the purple girl with the dog your sister?"

I can easily think that they will make an Equestria Girls 2. Because the EG world is very foggy.
