Solar Sentinel

 

Solar began to look around the room. He was looking at the bookcase carefully, until he saw something. "That book," he said as he flew up to the top shelf. It dose not belong with these. It's the history of Canterlot. And those bookends on each side of it. Ones a moon, the other is the sun. I'm going to take a look at that book."

 

As he pulls on the book, a switch is activated, spinning the entire room into what appears to be a grand dinning room. The little study, blending in to its new position.

 

"Hey Cherry, you ok? I think we found the dining hall." His stomach growls. "And just in time." He laughs. "Maybe the others will make it here too, but for the time, it's just us." He walks over to a couch by a window.

 

"Might as well get comfortable. Do you have any stories to pass the time?"

"Where are those two stallions? I knew they can't keep up with me; I need to find them quick, otherwise something might happen again!" Storm thought out loud to herself, then trotted down a hall curiously, not even knowing that she's walked in on a labyrinth of halls. "Scribe?" Storm called out.

Frost looked around, Storm had somehow vanished into thin air. Um hey Scribe? Where did Storm go." he asked turning to look back down the hallway. "Storm?......Storm?!....." he called out seeing of he could find a response from the missing pony. "Storm?" he called again

"Vengeful Cel... How does she even do that?" Scribe facehooved. As Frost called out. One minute. He had looked away for one minute and somehow managed to lose Storm.

 

'Good job. Some 'guardian' you turned out to be: how we ever manage to 'protect' anything with you in charge is beyond me...'

 

"Come on Frost, we need to find her. I'd say she couldn't have gone far but... well from what I've seen, she might have."

"Scribe? Scribe, do you hear me? SCRIBE? FROST?" The white mare shouted frantically, feeling more scared by the minute. She's already come to the conclusion that this mansion was haunted: and from the movies, she can tell that you never stay alone in a haunted house. She began running, trying to find the pair of stallions.

Frost walked next to Scribe and was looking down each hall that they came to. "Where is she?" he muttered under his breath, his ear perked up. He thought he heard his name, it was almost inaudible, but he swore he heard something. He turned and yelled. "STORM! STORM WAS THAT YOU!" he yelled louder

"This isn't getting us anywhere..." Scribe said, turning back to Frost. "Hold up a second."

 

"Storm? Stay! Where! You! Are! We're coming to find you!" He bellowed down the hall in the direction of the voice before addressing the other stallion again.

 

"Okay, so now we head that way, I'll check the doors on the right, you check the ones on the left. Sound good?"

Cherry, while startled at the room spinning around, was also excited about its changing. They did appear to be in the dining hall. 

 

Cherry giggled at his stomach growling, and sat on the floor in front of the couch. "Face to face again, there we go." She grinned, "Nope, still no stories, unless you wanna review the last 30 minutes or so." She smiled at him, "I'm glad for that little bit of time."

"If those 30 minutes are only half as enjoyable as the first time, I'd be happy." He smiled at the mare.

 

"So do you think this is where we're all supposed to meet? I mean the table is all set and everything. A spot for each pony invited."

 

Solar began to recline in the couch.

 

"I think I'll make myself comfort......"

 

As the stallion leaned back, he activated a switch for a trap door under the couch. He face had a look of shock as he hurried to open his wings to escape the black void that was underneath him.

 

"Sweet Celestia!," He hollered up from the hole as he began to fly up. "What kind of house is this? A Fun house! Somepony could get killed! Are you OK Cherry?" as he landed near the mare to check on her.

 

"Ether the person who built this house years ago was a rich old noble or.....or....I don't even want to think about it. Whatever it is, I'll make sure you get out of this safe and sound." He said to the mare with a pale face.

"STORM!"

 

Finally, Storm finally heard a familiar voice. She reluctantly followed the distant stallion's orders and stayed put where she was. Soon, the hallucinations might kick in; as always. The usual, "You're going to die in this very hallway with nopony saving you." A scream soon pierced the air.

Buckbury Hall

 

Throughout the hall, the familiar echo of uncountable locks snapping shut echoed once again: each and every door which let to an unoccupied room was sealed. For some reason, the building itself seemed to attempt to herd it's guests towards a central point.

 

The only room affected which still contained ponies was the main dining hall where Solar Sentinel and Cherry Pie had found themselves: this room saw each of its doors open wide and seal themselves open instead.

"Whoa!" Exclaimed the unicorn as the door to the room he had just checked slammed closed and locked in his face. A brief pause of stunned silence followed two things happened:

 

Firstly, he heard a mares voice from just up ahead.

 

Secondly, he heard a second sound which wasn't unlike that of the house going into lockdown earlier and bolted in the directing he judged the voice to be coming from.

 

"Storm! Thank Celestia there you are, are you okay? Come on - the doors are... doing... something!"

"I think that we should get out of..." The echoing thunder of tumblers snapping into place cemented her idea: it was time to move.

 

Already spooked somewhat, she flinched in fear over what kind of change might be taking place. Wish bolted from the room and down the hall: she wasn't certain if she might be heading directly towards whatever was behind this, or away from it. All she knew was that she was sick of being treated like a plaything by some coward who hid themselves away...

Frost was checking the doors when one flew open and slammed him into Scribe. He grabbed his muzzle as he turned his gaze to Scribe. "Owwwwww, sorry that door just....." he trailed off as he noticed all the doors doing the same thing. "Uhhh scribe? What's going on?"

"Oooh.. slamming doors is fun.." Storm said, clearly dazed from her incessant screaming earlier; her mind was blurry and her hooves were numb. "Where are we going, Princess Celestia....?" Storm mumbled, trying to balance on her hooves, stumbling into a wall. "Fun.."

As doors began to slam and lock, others open themselves. It was as if all paths lead to the dining room, where he and Cherry were.

 

"Um....Did I....Do you think that switch did that....? What ever is going on in this place, I think we're all going to find out shortly."

 

He looked over to the mare to see how she was handling the situation.

 

"We're going to be OK. We'll get out of here soon. I promises you that."

Cherry was a little spooked, yes, but she wasn't scared. She playfully punched the stallion, "Oh please, mister..." she giggled, "...I'm not that helpless." She grinned, and leaned against him. "Now let's see who all comes into the room. Maybe we'll have a meal?"
