Something to do with the military, shocker I know, like not all explosions, like a patrol your in gets ambushed and your friend is hit badly, and you have to tell his wife or girlfriend, so your actions have consequences, not too calm and not too...actiony and some romance. It can start like how "Saving Private Ryan" was or maybe you and a few others are in the same bunk and you make friends with them and so on.

If you're the adventurous but not the "apocalypse" or "warfare" type, then I got a splendid idea; Prohibition Era ponies.

 

It takes place fifteen years into the future. Thirteen years later, an act was passed that completely banned liquor from being exported or imported. Bars and clubs were taken down due to possession and distributing of liquor. This was caused by a belief that liquor caused decreased morality and health, and they believed by banning it completely, the world would be "better".

 

It backfired, however. Ponies began smuggling liquor into Equestria, and mafias become prominent; which is what the story focuses on. It's a roleplay where you try to develop your mafia group to dominate a whole city of such.

 

Not sure if it's suitable for here, however.
