Time's Return (MLPified)

Based upon the Time's Return Series (currently in the process of writing and is already copyright)

Will start once at least 2 spots are filled!

Alright, so against my fearful doubts, I have to decided to go ahead and design a RP based upon my novel, Time's Return. The setting itself has a medieval feel...kinda like a mix between Elder Scrolls and Lord of the Rings; however, there is one huge detail to this: there is no magic persay. There is however the abilities of the Zen and those few who can control energy. I worry that many will not understand the setting enough but I will do my best to describe it. Also, feel free to invent new cities and factions! There is always room for more. Eventually, I will post the map but until then, if it doesn't get totally understood, that's fine. It can't be perfect. It's supposed to be fun img-1869708-1-smile.png This can literally be anything from SoL, Romance, Mystery, Adventure, etc. I give you the world, you live it your way within the rules, I will occasionally give events and/or conflicts.

Here are some brief names and descriptions for all within Thurin and the territory, Verribium

Be warned! It is a decent amount of info!

Large/Important Cities:

Elysaad: capital of the Divine Alliance and capital of Verribium. It is the strongest, newest, most well defended, and still unconquered city in Verribium on the southern tip of the Raquigian Mountains.

Dalashur: technologic and industrial capital of all within Thurin and main city of the Ishalda race. This is where inventions happen but is almost entirely under the control of the Divine Alliance as it is located next to a lake connected to the Raquigian Mountains...not too far from Elysaad.

Vahk Heights: Main village of the Vahkane tribes that's built into the mountainside right alongside the Forest of Ihs.

Incium: likely the biggest city within Verribium and ancient capital of the Bohrom race. It lays between the Sea of Moons and the Forest of Ihs. It is strong in trade and commerce but lacks substantial governing from their king who is more of a figurehead.

Diacda: the completely mountainous city at the center of miles and miles of the Raquigian Mountains. Home to the legendary Lakurane. This is where the dragons of Verribium and their riders are trained for when they might become capable to fight for the Divine Alliance.

City of the Calahast (and Port Rurach): the famed yet notorious port city of Verribium next to and in the Breaking Seas. Here is where all races of Thurin that are not from Verribium gather. It is a tremendously popular city where one might find innumerable exotic goods and for the unlucky, the occasional sea raider.

Major Factions:

Divine Alliance: (best comparable to ancient Rome) most powerful and well known force throughout many territories in Thurin due to their unparalleled military might and governing skills. They are an imperial force that's objective is to eventually mold Thurin into one uniform republic of justice and honor and are spread throughout many territories. They made treaty with the Lakurane long ago and captured Dalashur long ago. Their capital is the mighty city of Elysaad where the Alliance's Senate rules and resides. Their Head of the Senate's name is Gashier of whom has two that protect and do his bidding when the Alliance can't, Naolith and Sunra.

Followers of Kah(best comparable to the Jedi from Star Wars) very well respected group throughout Verribium that is known for its dedication to carrying out the will of the Great Divines. They are well educated and highly trained through the ancient Tyrannian teaching: the Baism Edict. As philosophical as they may seem, it would be a fatal mistake to underestimate their strength in combat; though they lack the numbers due to the rare acceptance of new members. They follow a way of peace and justice in solitude within the Tyrannian Tower and are led by Maldair and his apprentice Xavious.

Children of Letumex: the children of Letumex originated during the great war between the Zen who followed his rule of darkness and the Zen who followed Aevuma, the Daughter of Light. When the Zen supposedly became extinct during the Crimson Purification, some still followed the legacy of the demon Letumex and dedicated themselves to his revival so that Thurin may again be ruled by chaos and brutality. For the longest time, the Children of Letumex were copartners with the Sorral until they were hunted by kingdoms throughout the land. Incognito, the Children of Letumex thrive yet still...waiting and watching.

Children of Aevuma: the Children of Aevuma originated during the great war between the Zen who followed Letumex's rule of darkness and the Zen who followed her, the Daughter of Light. When the Zen supposedly became extinct during the Crimson Purification, few continued the Children of Aevuma's legacy as they believed the opposing party to have died off and feared their now overwhelming vulnerability. They would not dare declare their affiliation with the Children of Aevuma as the Tyrannian Empire executed the Crimson Purification. Slowly, the last followers died off into time. Rarely is their name spoken.

Tribes of the Vahkane: spread throughout all of the southwestern part of Verribium, these tribes live in small mountain ranges, endless plains, dense forests, and humid marshlands. They use nature to their advantage and have many animal companions but are highly unstable as most of them fight one another endlessly...However, there was one who now attempts to establish peace between them. Scarwolf, a Ock-Shihk tribal who once served as a general for the Divine Alliance, created the city of Vahk Heights where he continues to establish peace amongst the tribes and gradually gain more and more power against the other kingdoms in Verribium

Garden Keepers: the Garden Keepers are a tribe (once Bohrom) who live around the legendary Thurin Mountain in Sahem's Garden. Accustomed to the harsh climate within the great desert, they are very sturdy and have keen sight in both light and darkness. For the most part, they keep to themselves but they still trade often help stragglers in need through their land. You rarely find them elsewhere.

Calahast: the Calahast obtained their name in its meaning: "those from the sea." Any outsiders to Verribium were immediately called Calahast. It seemed insulting at first but it eventually lost its meaning as they became more popular within the land. Most Calahast who come to Verribium a experienced in trade and adventuring. You could find them almost anywhere. They often brag about tales of the lands beyond and the seas traveled...and even the notoriety of their 'sea raider' reputations.

Sorral: most possibly the darkest of the factions in Verribium, the Sorral were once an powerful and notorious society of assassins the worked skillfully and swiftly with the Children of Letumex. In fact, the Sorral were almost successful in bring an end to the Divine Alliance itself and taking control over all Verribium. They failed however and were almost wiped out, the survivors fleeing into the Verribium wilderness...even so, their presence still lingers.

Important Landmarks:

Raquigian Mountainsthe grand mountain ranges in northern Verribium where snow falls willingly. It is the famed home to the Lakurane and their dragons who patrol it endlessly...beware of wisps.

Tyrannian Tower: the colossal structure built by the Tyrannian Empire ages ago that still stands as the rest of the once proud and enormous city laid in ruin and dust around it. It is inhabited by the Followers of Kah on the southern side of the Raquigian Mountains, not far from Elysaad.

Sea of Moons: the center-most body of water in Verribium that is connected to the Breaking Seas by a grand snaking river. It is highly utilized in trade with others across the territory.

Forest of Ihs: the largest expanse of forest within Verribium that inhabits many creatures and plants of all types. It is also filled with the Vahkane tribes whose villages hide in the underbrush. It is almost a death trap to journey through the forest.

Chihg Marshlands: the renown marshlands and swamps on the southwestern side of Verribium below the Vahk Heights. There a little to few inhabitants of the deadly swamps minus those few Vahkane tribes who dwell there.

Breaking Seas: the southeastern side of Verribium is bordered by the Breaking Seas that expand many leagues across Thurin. The salt waters are sailed by all means of voyagers but mainly the Calahast and their occasional sea raiders.

Sahem's Garden: fabled to be an additional protection to the Valley of Rennascentia and the Thurin Mountain as it encircles the small range of mountains like a serpent awaiting its next meal. This desert harbors few living things minus the Garden Keepers who learned to live in its 'hospitality.'

Thurin Mountain: the legendary Thurin Mountain, also known as the Black Stairway, towers high about all other mountains in all of Thurin. It had never before been touched by the living but was well sought after by many powerful rulers...including the demon Letumex who was sealed away by Aevuma's light during the famous legend of the Valley of Rennascentia before he could begin his climb. It was believed that this mountain was the connection to the heavens and the Great Divines themselves. Letumex wanted to conquer all but never touched the sacred summit.

Valley of Rennascentia: the sacred valley and only passageway to the Thurin Mountain. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, there was only one way in and one way out. Ever since that fateful day where the legendary battle between Aevuma and Letumex came to an end, the valley was inhabited by dark spirits of Letumex's army that had fallen...none dared the valley since then...especially when the spirits of death waited to rip apart all who came within reach.

The 6 Races of Verribium:

Bohrom: also known as the Lords of the Mane. This race was probably the largest in all of Verribium. They were known for their natural finesse in speed and power. They were also known for their invention of the crystal towers that they'd use in battle to reflect sunlight upon their foes, causing blindness as the innumerable Bohrom forces charged in gallantly. Few beheld the fabled charges of the Bohrom...but those who did would never again see a sight of such grand valor and courage. Upon the present time, having Bohrom blood is very common as they spreaded their race across all the land. They are third to the Vahkane and Lakurane in the number of full blood kin they still have. They are probably the most well rounded race in Verribium.

Vahkane: native born tribes and first inhabitants of Verribium, the Vahkane were the second largest in all of Verribium. Most prominently known for their abilities utilize nature, this race makes up the best trackers and hunters...and also, the most savage berserkers. Their biggest fault, however, is their lack of loyalty and sense of leadership. They were always at war with each other. Tribes destroyed tribes in attempts to gain land and power...an endless cycle. Now with Scarwolf, however, the Vahkane tribes are starting to uniform and join forces, slowly increasing in power. Like the Bohrom, having Vahkane blood is common. Due to the conquests of the Divine Alliance, their race is spread throughout many parts of Verribium. With this in consideration, though, they also contain the most full blood kinsmen in all the land.

Lakurane: the Lakurane were probably one of the most famous races of Verribium. They could do something no other race could ever hope to do: train, fly, and fight with the dragons in the mountains. Only those of Lakurane blood could do so. It was always a mystery why but they took pride in their abilities and natural superiority to the other races. On top of this, they obtained different classifications based upon the blood they had that contained four different energies. The classifications were the Irawks (could fire arrows with precision and power while atop the back of a dragon high in the sky), Sirens (could speak commands that dragons could hear for almost a mile in distance), Pires (could train dragons to be able to ride and obey commands and do what they were taught), and Wyrmvales (could execute skillful flying and combat techniques with their dragon counterpart). Eventually making peace with the ever so fearful Divine Alliance, the Lakurane supplied them with their warriors and dragons to give the Alliance an enormous advantage in battle. Full blood Lakurane are not too difficult to come by but still are less common than the Vahkane's. In any situation, the warriors in the sky changed the battlefield forever.

Ishalda: the Ishalda were derived from an ancient Bohrom people that voyaged throughout Verribium in search of knowledge and exploration. They were naturally gifted with intelligence from the Great Divines and lead all the land in technological prowess. Many goods came from their inventions, but also many bads. Attracted to their abilities, the Divine Alliance captured their city and paid them to produce military technologies for their forces. Though the Ishalda seemed simple on the outside as being the thinkers of Thurin...they in fact had a very corrupt underground and still do. They may seem to be simple pawns in the play of the world but it is they who invisibly move the pieces. It is for the most part, rare to find a full blood Ishalda, especially with the conquests of the Alliance and the influx of trade in their main city. They are the smartest of the smart, while cunning in the dark.

Tyrannian: the Tyrannians were once the mightiest of all races in their sheer skill in combat and management. Like the Ishalda, they were derived from an ancient Bohrom people that followed Tyrennous Kah and his teachings in fair, skilled combat. Blessed by the Divine, Arothodias, they prospered in military might under the creation of the Baism System and the later Baism Edict. After they wiped out the Zen, the Tyrannians became the Tyrannian Empire and proceed to almost conquer all of Thurin itself before ultimately collapsing from inner corruption and civil war. Like the Bohrom, they eventually scattered into the lands and spreaded, the once mighty city now in ruins. Nothing but a reminder of the might and fear that once almost ruled the world. It is merely impossible to find a pure blood Tyrannian, but the first place one would look is the Tyrannian Tower. Their legacy as the mightiest warriors in Thurin would be known throughout history.

Zenthe rarest of all the races and the most legendary throughout Thurin. Since birth, those of Zen blood obtained a gift from the Great Divines, an ability, giving them an unfair advantage over all the other races. Because of their obvious power and possible future conquering, the Tyrannian Empire slaughtered them all after the Children of Letumex and the Children of Aevuma tired from battle, wiping them out entirely. Little to none escaped and those that did were hunted for ages until Tyran's fall. The Tyrannian Empire put them into 4 tiers of power:

I. Minor, sometimes unnoticable, abilities (senses or skill enhancements, etc.)

II. Movement abilities (teleportation, invisibility, speed, etc.)

III. Altering abilities (envelopment, manipulation, alteration, etc.)

IV. Major abilites, elemental, or all not of the first three (Light, Darkness, Fire, Ice, etc.)

There was only one catch to their abilities, they had to be in an extreme state of anger or in a life or death situations for them to activate their Zen ability that based upon their tier of power would determine how much control they had over their gift (I. being the most control)...though few trained and learned to control their ability, activating it whenever they chose to do so. It is impossible to find a pure blood Zen. Greatest wishes of luck in ever finding a living Zen.

RP Rules and Guidelines:

If you're still interested after all that information and reading in doing this RP...fantastic! There are few rules for the RP in which it is up to the character to write his/her own path. I will do my best to keep up and provide conflicts, plot, and events...but I will monitor to makes sure the rules are indeed followed. If not followed, 3 warnings will be given before complete removal. With that said, I will again repeat, this is supposed to be fun and creative for the Roleplayer! I hope you all enjoy it to the fullest!

Rule I. no god-modding

II. no magic (sorry unicorns)

III. only use the common pony races and zebras: no dragons (for obvious reasons), griffons, alicorns, or changelings

IV. swear at a complete minimum in order not to offend someone...avoiding doing such is even better

V. sex may only be implied...maintain a PG-13 status throughout the RP

VI. no drugs but medieval alcoholic beverages are most definitely allowed (wouldn't make sense without)

VII. no Mary/Gary sues/steus

VIII. no detailed gore or outrageously grim scenarios

When it comes to the rules, please just use control and common sense please.

Character Design and Setup:

I doubt anyone's OCs have a background in the land of Thurin, which is totally understandable haha. So, to make things short, you may either create another or use your OC with a tweaked background and additional details. The primary detail will be the bloodline. You will choose from and are not limited to each of the 6 races of Verribium (just a fact: purebloods of any of the races are extremely rare and Zen are the rarest bloodline of all)...meaning it is encouraged to have more than one bloodline.

An additional detail will be required if you are of either Lakurane or Zen blood. If you are of Lakurane blood, it is required that you post your skill next to your bloodline (Irawks, Sirens, Pires, Wyrmvales). If you are of Zen blood, it is required that you post your tier and unique ability (this may be almost anything but I must confirm it's fairness).

All the same, please provide your character and their description (if OC, new description) here so all may see and understand him/her.

Here is the setup for new OCs with ex:

Name: Muramasa

Age: 24

Race and Appearance (pic or link to pic is encouraged): Zebra http://th00.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2013/266/7/2/untitled_drawing_by_gdalton66-d6njr6a.png

Bloodline(s): Calahast, Bohrom, Vahkane

Personality: Stern but wise and honorable. Kind at heart but fierce in battle.

Background: Muramasa was raised by a Calahast society that believed in honor through battle. They trained endlessly but remained spiritual at the same time. There ways were for the most part unknown to Verribium. Once of age, Muramasa left and decided to set along on his own path, his katana to his side.

Additional Info (if necessary): Muramasa is taller than most has a great deal of brute strength but not unrealistic. He and his sword would be intimidating to any foe.

Sounds like fun! I'll join with Light Streak.

Link to OC: in signature (I'm using te original, not reborn.)

Time' Return RP Background: In the beginning, Light Streak was a Sorral. But after being in that faction, he realized that the dark undertakings of the group did not fit his ways, so he led a revolution, and failed his mission. So he fled his home, seeking shelter deep in the forests, where eventually he found the ruins of the Children of Aevuma, where Loght Streak studied what they were, until eventually, Light Streak became one. Now he roams the streets at night, watching and waiting, ready to stop anything that may get in his way.

Time's Return Bloodline: Zen

Additional Info: Light Streak became a Child of Aevuma when he found that he was a Zen.
