It's funny that you mention stones being useless when Harmony turned your leader into one for a long time.

I never debated that, I said that for a while, Discord was solid stone.

Yes I know, but he broke free remember. Stone is not strong enough to hold Discord forever, and like I said it would be kind of hard to use them if

A. He hid them somewhere where no one would find them, also do not argue that Celestia protected them, she did that the first time and look what happened.

B. He corrupted the mane 6 again, I think Discord was way to understated in the show.

 

He could essentially do both. We already know he can as in the show he did both.

He didn't "Break out", in fact, he was only released due to the actions of the CMC arguing, not his own cunning or power. If he was turned to stone and hid away somewhere that wasn't the gardens (I must admit that the fact he was there was a lack of foresight on the side of the Princess Sisters), he would likely be stone forever.

Well I am going to prove us both wrong with this from here

So in turn Discord would only be imprisoned for the lifetime of Twilight and her friends. Because after they die, they would no longer be connected to the elements and the spell would break and he would have to be recaptured. And yes it has already been stated that Twilight will not outlive her friends, thus stating at one point they all would have to die. Unless they all became immortal Alicorns and wreck the show and everyone would be mad and so on. Now my point could be completely wrong, but hey if I learn something new about the show then Yay!. Now don't get me wrong I am just playing this mini war, not actually arguing
