"And you're very welcome."

 

And well my uncle was a genius. He was actually the pony who recently discovered steam power. Not sure if you've heard much about it since it's still fairly new, but thanks to his efforts, it's gradually becoming more and more common." Orion explained happily. "I spent most of my summer traveling with him and I really helped him expand his new business."

 

Orion held the door open for her as they made their way out to the hallway.

 

"And I suppose I may sit with her and her friends. Would you like to come sit with me as well during lunch?"

 

Now there's something I definitely agree with.

 

Pink noticed that Orion was blushing.

"Well that's true. It would be quite difficult though. My uncle...isn't really around anymore to help me.... so I'm not sure how I would be able to pull it all off on my own." Orion explained sadly. 

 

He then turned to the pink mare and gave a little smile. "But you're right. With faith and believing in myself, I might be able to pull it off. We'll see."

 

"I know how you feel. The first day is always the worst. I kinda want this to end soon as well."

 

"And sure, I would love to." Orion said, beaming happily.

"Sorry, I digress. But anyways, thanks, I really appreciate it. He really did teach me a lot and who knows? Maybe I can make something out of it one day. Thank you for the support." Orion smiled before pulling her into a hug.

 

She's a really sweet and kind mare...I never thought I would ever receive such nice treatment.

 

"And yeah, the days should go by easier after today." Orion said, ending the hug and regaining his composure.

 

"Gladly!" Orion happily exclaimed before taking the open seat.

Game gave a little bow, then clapped for his friend as he mixed the tubes and got them right. He then got a smile on his face and lowered his eye lids half way and nudged his friend.

Rainbow walks away from dusty signaling him to walk with him.

 

"Well since i am clearly an awesome leader i want to show you something, theres a few things you need to know about this school and being on the flying team Dusty. First off you need to devout at least 3 hours a day to training. If your good at what you do then the teachers will change your grades so you can fly if your one of those mindless jock idiots you'll see walking around school like the one with short blonde hair, have you met him? Hes an absolute idiot, which is why i kicked off the team. I don't want idiots on my team which is why were so small, only the best of the best Dusty. Second if your good you can skip classes and just do that work at home or before school. I only skip my electives because its only gym, Conditioning, and flying. Can you believe that? They think I Rainbow Boom need flying practice! Of course i never go and the teachers all know i won't so they just count me present, give me A's and i'm good to go. Anyways i'll tell your elective teachers your with me and you can skip those classes. In the meantime come on were going somewhere i think you'll like."

"But, if you don't attend classes, how will you get anywhere in life?" Dusty asked him, "I mean I like flying and all, but I also enjoy academics to some extent."

"No, i go to my regular classes. I just don't attend my electives because they are a waste of my time. Also theres this little team called the Wonderbolts that i'm obviously going to be in when i'm, older. They don't know i know this but I've seen 3 or 4 of their scouts attend the last 2 championships and i'm pretty sure my Sonic and Atomic Rainbooms showed i'm a great flyer. Thats how i'll get places in life."

 

Rainbow stops and smirks in front of a field.

 

"Heres where the magic happens Dusty. This is where the practices occur and over there points to a cleaner and very expensive looking field with every kind of resource for a trick imaginable is where our home competitions occur. Before i was here the practice field was where we had our competitions as well and why Canterlot Private and Cloudsdale made fun of us. I showed we need the equipment because i made the team #1 in Equestria. In ALL of Equestria Dusty right in front of Cloudsdale at #2 and Canterlot Private at #3. Now lets see what you got, show me your best tricks. If you do good enough i'll show you some of my tricks and you can learn from me. We also need to test your wingpower afterwards."

"Alrighty then" Dusty gulped. Don't fail me now, Dusty thought to himself.

Dusty began to fly around the Wondercolts practice stadium, doing simple flips, twists, turns, and the occasional barrel roll. 

As he way flying back towards Rainboom, he was hoping he'd done at least satisfactory.

Rainbow Boom stares at Dusty for a minute before commenting.

 

"Eh some work is definitely needed before your competition ready, also your going to need to develop a signature move like this."

 

Rainbow Boom immediately flys up and comes crashing down causing a thunderous boom, creating a sonic rainboom.

 

"Like that" Rainboom says with a smirk. "Now we need to test your wingpower, stand over there at that white line and fly when towards this anemometer when ready."

Dusty gazed in awe as the multicoloured mushroom cloud loomed over him.

"You can do that, just like that?!" Dusty asked, in awe, "Damn, that's impressive."

Dusty flew over to the anemometer and made ready.

He had a good takeoff, as he gained speed instantly, zooming past the machine.

Woo! Haven't flown like that in a while! I thought I did pretty good, lets look at the results, Dusty thought to himself as he flew over to Rainboom.

"I told you i'm not like the Canterlot Private or Cloudsdale flying team captains, i don't talk myself up unless I've earned the right to. As you can see i have earned the right to do so." 

 

Rainbow Boom looks at the anemometer.

 

"8.5 wingpower, not bad. My personal record is 18.7 but i'm sure you'll improve it. going by these stats you won't be starting as of now but our first competition at Cloudsdale is not for another 2 weeks so you might improve by then. Also one thing you should now, I hate Cloudsdale more than anything in the world. I swear to god if i put you in and you hoof it up i will not only take you off the team, i will destroy your reputation and make sure you never have another friend at this school again. So i'm warning you joining the team is not for the weak or unsure. You have one chance to leave without consequence right now, so i'm asking you are you in or out?"

 

Rainbow Boom locks a dead stare with dusty and does not smirk or smile.
