Sombra had the most evil Bad End

So I hear a lot of people here complain that Sombra did not "win" like the other villains did. While that might be true but we need to remember one fact, Sombra winning even if it was for only one moment would have been too dark for a show like MLP.

 

Let me explain:

At the start of the episode when Celestia was explaining the crystal heart about Twilight she says "But if hatred and fear takes over..." and the we see this:

So basicly The crystal Empire as a whole was his One Ring.

So let us Imagine had Cadence not been thrown at Spike:

First thing first Spike would been eaten alive, we all saw Sombra licking his Lips, he has fangs, he was locked away for 1000 years, let the man eat!

Second the crystal Heart would have fallen into the hoofs of Bashar al Sombra

Third of all, Sombra will reclaim his empire and take care of those who are not crystal ponies as he does not need them for his plan

Fourth of all, the negative emotion from the crystal ponies will create a blast that reflects all across Equestria and everypony will either be impaled by crystals coming out of nowhere and the others will be put into slavery.

So basicly half of Equestria would been killed if it was not for epic waifu throwing. He may not have won like the others but his Bad End is way worst than any other villain the show. Complaining that he never won is like complaining Sauron never got his OneRing back.

Sombra actually being killed, was an unexpected gruesome thing that I didn't expect at all. Sombra wouldn't have won anyway, so they should stop complaining already.

Considering that this is MLP, they'd probably soften the impact a bit.

 

If he won, they'd just show shadows spreading through Equestria, then shots of ponies screaming in terror.

Season 3 passed, and there's nothing we can do to change the episodes. So no use for the haters/dislikers to be complaining about it.

More importantly off all the villains based on his actions in the show, just the show,

did he deserve excitation over everyone else?

Oh no you mean the real, real ending where Candence colides head first with Sombre and they both die,

and shinning armor grief stricken hurls himself to his death and all 3 of them are never brought up again.

For over 1000 years he dominated the whole empire. Because even after he was exiled, his magic still had a strong impact on the empire and it was hidden for those 1000 years.

In addition, he was defeated with great effort by ponies+Spike. He almost won, only thanks to Spike (hobbit LOTR reference?) he was defeated.

His curse was so strong that even such a powerful being as alicorn (Cadance) has much trouble with keeping his magic away from re-invading.

Tbh. I think Sombra we see is actually a degenerated version of himself. The sisters more or less made his body into smoke and being disembodied for 1000 years won't exactly make you the most stable person ever, evil or not and at the end of the day, he's just a Unicorn. He probably would have just died of old age had the sisters not tranformed him.

 

Discord and Luna handle it better because they were immortal already, whats 1000 years to them??

You know what matters? The progress.
Discord is not a good argument because he is some kind of divine being.

Chrysalis had to resort to trickery and deception and she needed an army to wreak havoc. She defeated Celestia by accident, she didn't even expect that she would be able to drain so much love energy to gain so much power. She is probably the equivalent to an alicorn in her species.
 

And what about Sombra?

he's just a Unicorn

  Exactly! He was just an unicorn and see how much he attained. He became so powerful that the two alicorn (so much powerful) sisters together couldn't kill him, they only managed to banish him (and he still managed to cast a curse on empire in meantime hiding it in the process.). And they rather didn't have turned him into shadow intentionally. He was too powerful to be killed and this form was probably the best option for him to survive with weakened strength - similar happened to Sauron. He probably gained immortality without being an alicorn. He ruled the whole empire alone.
And what killed him also beat other villains, the magic of love and friendship amplified by the crystal in the shape of a heart. And the energy of all crystal ponies in whole empire was needed for this.

Actually, i don't think the sisters had that much trouble beating him. Tho he was no doubt more powerful than any other unicorn of his age.

 

The fact that he thought to curse the empire so that it disappeared upon his defeat sounds like someone who plans ahead, who is intelligent.

 

Sombra when we see him barely shows any of this, he's more animalistic and slurs his words. He might have been great once but it seems his power increase has come at the price of his intellect. In fact, when sombra approaches the heart it makes his body turn back to normal. Restored to his former self only to be blasted to pieces moments later.

 

That is brutal.

 

Btw. Does Sombra's "death" imply the crystal heart is stronger than the elements of harmony?

 

The EoH are the most powerful magics in all of ponydom, but the crystal heart is powered by a whole city so not exactly a balanced comparison.

well i have some questions

 

seeing as how the sombre episodes are 2 of a hand full of episodes i haven't seen,

did they try nuking him with the elements?  If not did they mention why not?

 

I would say the elements of harmony are more powerful simply put because for all we know the crystal heart can only heart sombre.

It might do squat to the changeling queen or discord.

 

But hay if i'm wrong it does have me curious.

Perhaps the curse Sombra threw on crystal ponies caused that he had to be beaten only with the crystal heart. He drew strength from the suffering of crystal ponies.

 

 

So basicly The crystal Empire as a whole was his One Ring.

Something like this. So only weapon located in the empire could be successfully used.
