G5 MLP that isn't a sequel/spin off: what would you make it about?

So I know there’s G5 threads: and a recent one asking if we’d make G5 a sequel, this is a bit of a different take on the question: if somebody's already asked then my apoligies.

I have nothing against a G4 sequel one day: but if you were given the job to make G5 My Little Pony, but you couldn’t make it a sequel/spin off of G4 what would you make it about?

I’ve drawn up some small rules

·       It can’t be a spin off/sequel (as I said)

·       It can’t have the same characters apart from one if you wish

·       It can be a cartoon but it doesn't have to be

Who are the characters?

Where is it set?

Which actors/VAs star in it

Oh thats pretty simple. I would make it alot like blackadder except for with ponies. It would revive the great humor of blackadder and be with ponies.

What theme?

It would still be a magical back drop.  I'd take more time showing the ponies on adventures than in, the same, God damn, town.  The main cast would be from 4-6.  I'd still have at least

one tom boy arch type,

one egg head,

one class clown,

and one jerk.

I think i would free up more room for new characters to come in and pass out of the show (kinda like that jacke chan cartoon).

I would want the G4  to keep going strong for a while. Why move onto another generation when this one has done so well to begin with?

Okay so if hasbro offered you a chance to do gen 5.  you.  pay you.  your name on the show, you'd say hell no?

Even if it meant killing gen 4....gah

i'm not sure I could turn that down LOL.

I mean yes Ideally writing on gen4 would be neat but suppose hasbro wanted you to do gen 5, and yes you accepting would kill the current show.

I would like to make a more darker My Little Pony series(Somewhat similar to what DiC did with Sonic SatAM).  Place the ponies more in a dire situation when the main antagonist has more central power, being more of a Knight of Cerebus(Similar to Tirek) who rules the ponies with an Iron Fist.

The protagonist, I would like to be more of ether

a) A commoner gone into hiding

or

B) An outsider wanting to set right to the wrongs of the antagonist

The ideal land would be a once majestic kingdom having fallen into a dark ruins thanks to the antagonist.

For VAs, I would stick with the status quo and go with Canadian Voice Actors(Scott McNeil would be a perfect antagonist, that's for sure)

And just cuz I like his style, I would hire Gennedy Tartakovsky as the main artist.

Well I wanted to see what original plots and characters and such people would come up with instead of coming up with the spin off ideas on most posts: which I agree would be a good idea. But why not do something a lot more original?

Anyway yeah :)

I would boldly go where no pony series has gone before and make bronies the target audience. There's obviously enough of us that it would be worth a shot. Like @SaburoDaimando, my show would be a lot darker, but it would be mostly dark comedy. It would probably have a higher rating. At least PG13. I would keep magic a major factor, as magic has been a staple throughout all generations, but I might give them more technology. Nothing too advanced, just computers and rockets and telephones. Stuff that already exists. The series would revolve around a group of adventurers who travel around saving towns and vanquishing evil. Maybe the full series story arch is they're looking for a legendary treasure that they need to save their own hometown, which has been placed under a sleeping enchantment a la Sleeping Beauty. I wold leave out shipping within the main characters. Maybe one of them has a boyfriend/girlfriend back home who's under the sleeping enchantment, but they wouldn't be reunited until the very last episode. There could be some shipping among minor characters who come and go, but for the most part, I would want the show to be about the task at hand.

And for a bit of a twist, even though it would be targeted at adults and teenagers, I would still teach a lesson in every episode. Only they would be way more philosophical lessons like "nothing is absolute", or "Every one of our actions is motivated by death terror". (If you have time, look up Death Terror Theory, it's very interesting.

I thought you were gonna say ponies in space LOL.  I was picturing twilight acting like william shatner.  Oh God i'm thinking about this way to long already.  NO I must keep going .

I would make rainbow dash sulu (cause he's the butt kicker.  it has nothing to do with the fact he's um... nm lol)

Apple jack bones

The CMC red shirts

Buck i just relized i should done next Generation it would been so God damn easy to cast Q.  Pinkie pie.

My Little Pony: Adventures Awaiting

A timid human girl is told by a mysterious voice that it is only she who can save Equestopia (my G5 setting). Then the girl wakes up as an Earth Pony. The girl, not able to remember her name, calls herself Bright Bow. Then she meets four ponies:

Ambush - A female Pegasus with cyan fur and a silver mane. She enjoys playing harmless pranks. Her cutie mark is a slingshot.

Sharp Eyes - A male Unicorn with red fur and a brown mane. He usually reads and studies. The group's usual word of reason. His cutie mark is a book.

Bat Swing- A female Earth Pony. IDK what her colour scheme is. She is athletic, enjoying a variety of sports, and tough, so is slightly embarrassed when, in 'Time to Pony Up - Part 2', (the second episode of the two-part premiere) she gets rescued by Bright Bow, a usually timid girl.

Med Check - A female Earth Pony. She is white with a red mane. She aspires to become a nurse, so helps out at the hospital with small things. Her cutie mark is a first aid symbol.

Suddenly, a meeting is called in town square. The mayor announces that the search for ponies that have been going missing has been fruitless. Afterwards, Bright Bow's four new friends show her a place she can stay - an abandoned house. The next day, Bright Bow wakes up and tries to find her friends, but then sees them being taken away by an antagonist. Now Bright Bow must overcome her shyness and save the ponies.

Well, what did y'all think? If you liked it, I may turn it into a fanfic when I have more development.

Oh, and I thought of other stuff that happens.

*Sharp, having read about humans in mythology, asks Bright a bunch of questions about them.

*Bright gets her cutie mark in an early episode.

Dude I'd read it if you turned it into a fanfic, that would make a pretty aewsome premise for a TV show as well I think smile.png
