"No, I do not believe so," He said, turning to face the new arrival. 

 

"And who might you be?" Icarus asked curiously. 

 

Yet another new arrival, I still wonder why we are all here?

Melody Ink sighed in relief. Standing straight and with a hint of sophistication in her voice she replied, "My name is Melody Ink. You may address me as you wish." She pulled the letter from the princess out of her saddlebag. "I was summoned her by Princess Celestia, although it appears that she is not here at the moment."

She glanced over her shoulder for any sign that the princess was coming.

Turning back to the pony with the mask she said, "And who might you be?"

"I am Doctor Icarus" Icarus bowed to the newcomer, whom had identified herself as Melody "Plague doctor and experimental doctor"

​Hmm, didn't think there would be a teenager coming here, what are we doing ? And to that matter, were is the Princess whom summoned us.

Minath felt her spine tingle. she was so attuned to Celestia's magic she could feel when the princess was about to cast. Minath straightened her mane as the Princess appeared at the head of the table.

 

"My dear ponies, I'm sorry to keep you waiting." And a moment later, Luna, too appeared and took her place beside her sister. "We had to wait until all seven of you were gathered. We have a mission for you, our small ponies."

 

"As you may be aware, if you are in tune with the magic lines, there as been a new threat to Equestria. One my sister and I can not stand up against."

 

"This new threat is named Lilith. While she is weak at the moment, her strength is gaining quickly. We have not encountered Lilith in many a generation of Elements, and only the wielders may defeat her."

 

"And as many ponies do not know, every generation of wielders the elements change with the nature of their pony counterparts. Very rarely does the princess of the elements reach actual princessdom, gaining immortality and alicornhood, because as proven it can have terrible effects."

 

"Many do not know, but Celestia and I were among the first wielders. Lilith was the challenge for our generation, and all the elementals gained immortality, although this has not happened sense."

 

"We hate to put this task upon you, but you all must bear the reforged elements and defeat Lilith. You must be curious, after all, there are seven of you and only six elements."

 

"Dr. Icarus, you must be the light of reason for these elements. For without you it is possible Lilith will invade their minds and rip them apart from the inside out. If they start to lose themselves you must bring them back."

 

Celestia then pulled out a familiar-looking book, easily recognizable. It was the book that was hollowed out to contain the elements. The book was opened and five necklaces and a tiara were levitated out, coated in a golden aura.

 

"Minath, may you protect all these ponies as you have protected Equestria. Pitch, may you love all these ponies as you love everyday. Melody, may you be the light of wisdom when all other lights have been snuffed. Lila, may you keep these ponies as calm as you do yourself. Shyla, may you help these ponies persevere despite all that you may come across. Rambler, may you help all these ponies show the courage you do everyday." Celestia said, and placed each element on the bearer in turn. After a moment, they all lit up for a moment, and when the light faded all the elements were no longer on the bearers.

 

"The elements will re-appear when you have proven your worth to them. Then and only then will you be able to face Lilith."

 

"The magic we've been picking up have been coming from far north, farther than the Crystal Empire and into the uncharted lands. I regret to say it heroes, but you will be traveling into the frozen north. First you will go to Neighagra falls, then north to the Crystal Kingdom to meet another first element bearer, Princess Cadence, the element of love. She will give you supplies to survive the Frozen North."

((Just so everyone knows, I never left, I just wasn't saying anything. Anyway, I'm glad we're back in business here.))

 

Rambler just stood in shock at what the princesses had said. He'd had his share of crazy adventures before, but saving all of Equestria? Was he really up to something like this? Well, only one way to find out. He bowed respectfully to the princesses. "I don't know that I'm really cut out for this kind of hero stuff, but I'll do my best not to let you down."

Icarus watched the elements flair around his now fellow teammates, the glare reflecting off of the lenses of his mask.

 

He turned to the princesses.

 

"Ahh yes, the elements of harmony, quite powerful items. I will be honored to assist the bearers" Icarus said to the two Princesses. And with that he gave them both a respectful nod.

 

Quite an unusual day, I hope that this group is up for the task. And in turn, that I am up to the task.

And then, at last, the Princesses came out. Of course, Pitch immediately bowed for them. Then, they gave their speeches, as the weight of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks. He... was going to be an Element of Harmony. Hoo boy.

 

As he was given his Element, he found himself clamming up. Something so valuable... something to protect all of Equestria... being given to him... and it looked rathet nice on him, he found. But it vanished quickly, which didn't truly bother him.

 

He looked toward the Princesses as they gave their demands and nodded. I-I... I'll try to... Y-Yes, Princess Celestia. Princess Luna. I promise to be invaluable for the Elements. Y-You can count on me!

 

He held himself up higher than he needed to. He was excited. The task of keeping Equestria safe was now in his hooves. It was amazing... the feeling was phenomenal!

 

... This is such an honor. To be an actual Element of Harmony...! Eeeee~!

"Of course you will be great. You have been chosen by the element, and it knows what's best."

Minath was stone cold quiet, and could feel a bead of sweat gathering along the slightly pushed in place on her forehead that is one of her only visible scars.

 

Me? Protect... Equestria? There must be sompony more suited! I can see why the element chose me, but isn't there somepony better? And isn't the element with the crown supposed to be the... leader? I get the element's logic but there HAS to be somepony better.

 

Minath's wing feathers began twitching, and she tried to calm her nerves. Her eyes must be the size of the moon.

Rambler bowed even deeper before the princess. "I pray that you're right, your majesty."

 

He then noticed Minath's feathers twitching, and he knew that meant she was feeling anxious. He wrapped a foreleg around her and pulled her in tight, nuzzling her affectionately. "Calm down Minath. If anypony can handle this, it's you. And I'll be right by your side the whole time, I promise. We can do this."

Minath's voice was barely a whisper.

 

"But what if we can't? What if we fail and it's all my fault? I'm supposed to be the leader, My element is the crown, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do."

Celestia was used to Minath's pessimism, and had a plan.

 

Because Celestia was one of the most powerful alicorns, she could form telepathic bonds between minds. She had a dormant one with Minath, never opening it because it was never needed. But whenever the element reforged to Minath's cutie mark, Celestia made the bond. She never told Minath about it, though. She opened the bond now, hearing Minath's concerns.

 

Minath, I know you're scared. Don't be. I will be with you every step of the way.

 

Cel.. Celestia? Minath had never used the bond, not knowing it existed, but her mind have familiarized itself with Celestia's the moment the dormant bond was formed.

 

Yes Minath. We have a telepathic bond, and I will help you on your journey. But you must tell no one of it, not even Rambler.

 

I... I understand.

 

Minath had a visible exhale of relief.

 

(( Just to be clear, this bond won't make Minath OP. It will be more to route the journey and give backround information about Lilith as the story progresses ))

Icarus tilted his head to the left, thinking.

 

These are the princesses plans, hmm, something about this Lilith seems, off. I'm not sure why but... Hmm, I wonder what she has done to afford this hostility. 

 

Perhaps this could lead me to more clues about the Creator.

Rambler shook his head. "Don't think like that. It's going to be fine, I'm sure of it. You just have to trust the elements, and the judgement of the princesses. They wouldn't have chosen us if we couldn't do it. And even if you're supposed to be the leader, that doesn't mean you have to do it alone. I'll be there to help you and bear this burden with you."

Minath nodded, feeling more confident now that she knew the princess would be instructing her as they go along.

 

"And I'm sure that even together we won't have to bear this burden all alone. I'm sure we'll get some help."

     Melody watched as the other ponies in the room interpreted the situation in their own ways.

 

     Celestia said I had to be the light of wisdom when all others have been snuffed out. Does that mean my element is wisdom?

 

     It may seem silly to not know the element you posses, but Melody had always seen life in a different perspective.

 

     Wisdom? Me? This must be a mistake! I...I just.... Did she make a mistake? She shook her head. It can't be mistake, the princesses don't make mistakes with something like this.

Lila looked up when the princesses walked in, getting up and bowing to them. She listened to what they had to say, watching as her element floated to her and went around her neck. A beautiful necklace, but why her? Of all ponies, there should have been someone else. Then again this was the princesses she was talking about, when did they ever make a mistake... aside from a few minor detail... but that wasn't the point however. Lila was too engulfed in her necklace to notice the guard pony panicking slightly. Matter of face, as far as she was concerned she was the only one in the room, completely zoned out.

Rambler nodded smiling. "I suppose we won't. And it's not like you've never been a leader before. You are the captain of the guard, after all. I'm sure you'll do fine, and I have no doubt that both the princesses and the elements themselves knew what they were doing when they chose the rest of us. There's nothing to worry about."

Icarus looked over to Minath, hearing her repeating a phrase over and over.

 

"Madam, are you ok? "Iacrus asked, with a slightly worried tone in his voice.

 

Hmm, we all seem to be a bit shocked at the moment. Myself included. I wonder what lies ahead of us in our future journey.

"Oh, uh, yeah. Just, feeling the weight of the situation. I mean, Equestria lies on our shoulders and it's our duty to protect it. That's kinda big, ya' know?"

Despite Pitch's awkwardness in many social situations, he had a surprising amount of charisma he gained when he saw others in fear or worry. Now was no exception.

 

Trotting over to Minath, Pitch said, Yes, it's a big responsibility... b-but we're all in it together! If one of us were going in alone, it'd be worrisome, but the Princesses put us all together! She knows we're going to be good friends, and friendship's good enough for any fears, right?

 

... Don't expect outbursts like this regularly.

Minath smiled. Ponies like Pitch were the reason she loved her job. She got to protect all those she held near and dear to her, and even ones that weren't.

 

"I guess you're right. Friendship is magic, huh?"

"Yes, I'm leading. I guess I have the most experience and the crowned element... I'm just glad that this was in the morning. We'll leave in a few hours. I'm positive Celestia and Luna has supplies on hand."

 

A quick glance at the princesses and they both nodded. Of course they came prepared.
