well, there are 2 main factors that you need to address before anyone can help, what you are looking for from a gaming pc, and how much you are willing to spend.

I'm a bomb. . . made of fire.

So I bomb things. . . with fire. . . and do nothing else

NOTHING!

Well, it all depends on what you want out of it, what you want to spend on it. My PC includes an i3 2120, 8GB RAM and a GTX 660, it can play Crysis 3 at 1080p at Ultra Settings, no AA. So, if you need a consultant on your build, feel free to ask me in PM.

Im not looking for super high end since its my first build, and moneys not really an issue since ill be buying parts sort of as and when.

If i could run BF4 (just an example) comfortably on good/high graphics ill be ecstatic.

Ok, so from experience  buy a very good case and a good power pack and motherboard/cpu.

Then you have the stuff out of the way that you cant upgrade easily :)!

Then you can buy mediocre stuff and upgrade as and when a bit more easily.

WIth a £500-600 budjet you cna get something to run BF4 easily, have a look here:

http://en.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme for someone to suggest a full build for you :)

The one thing I'd avoid is buying AMD processors, they may have more cores, but overall, each core is less powerful, stick with Intel, they may be more expensive, but they are a lot better.

Ok, you should try to get a mid-tower, you should be able to comfortably get what you need into the computer (problem with mini-tower) and not be overwhelmed with trying to fill everything of the computer (problem with full tower.) The  model of the case is entirely up to you, however you should look for something with decent fan space and ports. The motherboard should fit the case (depends on what case you get, check online or with the store clerk depending on where you are getting the parts.) the motherboard should also have enough ram (probably about 16 gigs) slots and spaces for graphics, internet, and sound cards. for hard drives, you should try to get 2 or 3, depending on if your case has the space for it. You should try to get a solid state drive for your operating system so it will start up faster, but they are normally more expensive. For your actual storage get a 500Gb or 1TB hard drives. Everything else is personal preference and what you think you would need.
