As you know, this kind of thread has been repeated many times. All kinds of grim and dark future predictions, people especially start to lose their hope in the show crew approaching to the end of season 3. Equestria girls has gave many people headache and wrath. I know that many people in here are still having hope for season 4, I still do. But all i can see in the Internet now is a restored order, the age of blooming MLP memes is gone as well as it seems the haters are winning to make other don't care people not to give a fuck about the show.

Our population is dramatically decreasing in the rate of newbies and active members. It seems the rate of new member is quite slower than the rate of inactive or resigned members.

I have done enough with the ranting here! Let's get straight to the point.

 

As you can see, we are becoming more dependent on the show crew more than ever. It is a deadly death trap in which the fate of the fandom lies on the edge of doom wherever Hasbro decides for our fate. They did simply achieved that by knocking out of Mane6, remove Derpy to show us who is the boss, Twillight alicorn to reveal their undying greed and Equestria Girls is to humiliate us with no hope of redemption. Yes! There are people seem to be loyalists to the show but not to Hasbro. These loyalists tried to use some irrelevant reasons to justify Equestria Girls and Twillight alicorn but ignoring Mane6 and Derpy removal. I kinda losing faith in the people who trying to tell me that this fandom is not dying or MLP is getting better. As I have watched multiples videos explaining freedom is not dying, they told me like EG has a huge plot twist but it is a worthy movie to see or Twillight as an alicorn is OK and it is cool except for removal of Derpy and Mane 6.

In some cases, they have explained me many crucial evidences about the show is not dying with some pretty accurate statistics protesting against my analytical observation. They have persuaded me to wait until Season 4, it will be awesome. I am still waiting like all of you, still do.

 

But now I shall present you some of suspicions and lately observation.

First, I have seen many members in the forum about 50 members i estimated. About 70 percents of them dropping dead, about 30 percents of 70 percents I suspected as hibernation dued to social life or school works , many of them have been hibernated since may 2013 which is pretty early. The rest of 40 percents of 70 percents dropped to state where I considered death in which have been inactive since 2011 or mostly October 2012. With the high increase activity of administrators and veteran members, lacking the rate of active new members like me. While Narutobase has the higher population of members than MLP forum about 60 members more with the enormous amount of daily visiting guests. I compared this because some people in the past saying that anime is dying in America but it does not since it has been more active and uproar than this new MLP fandom. I know many people will disagree with my observation, but this is not the only reason.

 

Secondly, Hasbro has been acting tyrant and childish lately. As I have listed before, Hasbro lawsuits against Mane6 which causing the development team stopped Fighting is Magic. Removal of Derpy created an uproar and rage among the fans as well as the viewing rate dropped by the result. I think that Hasbro is trying to kick us out of their business. why? Because we bronies have been making enemies with powerful haters or hater organization from Christians to politicians, even the communities are generally hating us as well as the entire normal people seeing us as cancers so many bronies have to conceal their identities. Hasbro can not afford to let the fandom lives as it destroys MLP core foundation and Hasbro reputation, they do not have enough fund to afford on a war against the haters, many people seeing that bronies are winning in which bronies are able to establish their own communities! True! But for how long? Haters preached the message of hate by the media over saturation in which making all people to notice this, in consequentially disturbing people since we already against the law of gender definition. Fewer newbies coming with more ignorant people, causing the fandom starts to slowly decline.

 

Thirdly, the fandom loses its core virtues as well as the less excellent creative artists or musicians or writers. Bronies are becoming more violent and aggressive as we anti and against all the people who disliking the fandom. As common nature i can observe from my brony friend as he saying that he feels more pleasure as to watch rage haters against MLP. He completely forgot the love and tolerance but aggressively striking back against the haters with insane reasons and pure biase. The Davis who made Smile HD received from me a dislike as I feel so conflicted when observing blood and violence in the show made by love. I hope he can see me as expressing a concern that many artworks starting to get cliched in which the same topics repeat a lot of tiles. Not even mention the rising of more pornography and violent contents concerning about MLP, they gave me cancer! The lesser active full time artists who are truly dedicated for MLP alone, less submitted pony artworks i found lately on Deviant Art as the rate of pony pic per second drops. I less interested with the newly pony videos made on YouTube as i am finding them uninteresting.

 

 

 

I know many of you will defend for MLP fandom, I truly still dedicating to the fandom now!

But the doubt starts to cross my mind, the reason is beating the tolerance.

I wrote this thread is to express my doubt which might be true. Some of you will be loyal to fandom to the end and I only hope that you do not feel sorry for that choice.

You do realize Derpy hasn't been removed from the show, right? She was in the season 3 finale and at the SDCC panel this year they said they weren't removing her from the show. Also, why in the world would Hasbro try to get rid of us? Do you think they really care about the haters? We far outnumber the haters and we bring in tons of money for them. Its not destroying Hasbro's reputation.

 

Also, Equestria Girls exists not because of them trying to get rid of us or humilitate us but because they saw all of the human MLP fan work and thought thats what we wanted. They said that at a panel at one of the conventions this year.

Alicorn Twilight exists mostly because of Hasbro's greed so you are right about that.

Its the off season. Of course its going to be slow and lots of people aren't going to be active. Once, season four starts again lots of people will be coming back. Also, plenty of new people are still coming. Look at the welcome plaza and you'll see we have no shortage of new members.

 

How are we becoming more violent and aggresive? There has always been gore and r34 stuff in this fandom as in every other fandom. Have you forgetten about cupcakes and the numerous other gore fics? Plus just because people like these things doesn't make them violent or/and aggressive.

 

Your friend is just one person. He doesn't represent the whole fandom so that arugement is invaild.

 

I can see why you're concerned, but this fandom is still pretty big and is still going pretty strong.

Firstly, Hasbro did not remove Derpy from the show since she was in the movie and in the season 3 finale. We're going to see her again in the background in Season 4 or maybe in the future.

 

Secondly, The rate of the members leaving the forums aren't exactly a high percentage since even when the members leave we still gain more members when the old members leave. Another round of members returning or joining, will start to shed some light when Season 4 comes.

 

Lastly, the fandom is still making creativity in their work it's just that they are on a hiatus until the next season comes it is like a cycle. When a season ends, all of the creativity will still be coming just not as much and when a new season begins the creativity will start to flow smoothly like a river with more content to boot. Alicorn Twilight was definitely off of Hasbro's greed, I'll agree with that.

 

Anyway, one opinion does not make an argument valid because it is just one perspective. For it to be valid, it would have to come from the entire community or from the show writers themselves and the company unless proven otherwise.

I read your whole post, and quite frankly I was astounded. You seemed to have forgotten a very simple underlying fact. It's only a cartoon aimed at children. The adult audience is a total accident. The lion's share of profits is from toys bought by parents for their children. If every Brony decided to boycott Hasbro, it might not even show up on their monthly sales figures.

 

Derpy was in Equestria Girls, and the show staff has stated numerous times that she IS in season four.

 

As for Mane6, you may not like this, but Hasbro had every legal right to stop them from making a violent game based on their characters. Hasbro owns all the MLP copyrights. To be quite honest, they're being remarkably lenient with all of the fan art, stories, and fan made products that they turn a blind eye to. The game was a step too far though. Mane6 pushed it so hard, that it ended up being slated for use in a big fighting game convention. THAT is when the hammer dropped. Hasbro did not want their characters linked publicly with violence. If the game stayed low key, they would have allowed it. mane6 blundered big time with all of their self promotion.

You missed my main point. Bronies can scream and carry on all they want. Hasbro owns every aspect of MLPFIM. It was started for promoting children's toys, and that's where the money is. Bronies can make their childish demands, and Hasbro will just smile and rake in the money from their primary fan base. I heard that Hasbro gave serious thought to pulling the plug after season one, because the Bronies and all the R34 art was something they wanted nothing to do with.

 

How come so many bronies refuse to accept that if a company owns the right to something, that means THEY have all the say so. Legally, they can go and stop everyone selling pony art and plushies, but they DON'T! Nobody has a right to make a financial profit on copyrighted material that they DO NOT actually own. Frankly, it makes Bronies sound like idiots with all the "Waa-Waa, Hasbro hates us because we aren't allowed to make money off of them! Yes Derpy being censored sucks, I hate the Derpy complainers so much I can't even put it into words but it was their fault that whole fiasco happened, Hasbro had no choice. I too am angry at them about twilicorn but do have some hope that it will work, we will just have to wait until season 4. As for the copyright stuff, they are way way more lenient than most other companies but because of the way copyright and patent laws are set up if they don't do at least a bare minimum to protect their "intellectual property" than they could lose it completely. We should focus on changing the laws, not hounding Hasbro.

I read it somewhere about ending after season one, but sadly I have no way to validate the claim. It may have just been talk I picked up on another site and misremembered. Perhaps I should have just left it off. Hasbro is being very understanding towards the fans though. FOX used to go after every X-Files fanfic they could locate and send a cease and desist order. That is verifiable. Just look at the many sites devoted to MLP:FIM stories, without a peep out of Hasbro. Look at all the plushies on EBay. Since those are hardly mass produced, Hasbro ignores it. I did hear that someone making MLP medallions was stopped by Hasbro, when they began to offer them in bulk. That would need a license for the production, so Hasbro could rightly have a part of the profits. (I'm not sure of the source on that, but I'm fairly certain it's true)

Mane6/Fighting Is Magic - tbf, Mane6 screwed themselves over when they tried to get the game to show up in the largest fighting game convention and trying to get donations, even if it was for charity. I'm not saying it's a good thing that Hasbro was right and I don't want to sound like an apologist, and I don't think it was because of the fighting nature of the game, but they had every right to pull the game once Mane6 used it for donations, regardless of the money's intent

Yes Fox is pretty bad as is Disney and Viacom some media companies have even had youtube take down certain news clips that had information that was lets say a tad inconvenient to certain interests. Hasbro hasn't exactly been lenient out of the goodness of their hearts, but they are smart enough to know it is simply good business sense and that alone makes me respect them alot more than these other companies. I heard all about the MLP medallion story, I think someone posted a thread about it in sugarcube corner several months ago. Back when the Fighting Is Magic Controversy happened I Feld0 gave a great explanation on patent law and how legally speaking companies have to defend their patents otherwise they lose them which was the case for Fighting Is Magic and may also have been the case for those medallions.

 

Hasbro is smart????!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

If they are smart, they should spend more times on improving their show and Equestria Girls instead of bounding to the Almighty Dollar. I didn't blame McCarthy for writing the script badly for Season 3 and EG, it was Hasbro. Both of them feel fairly rushing through instead of detailed exploitation and deep humorous scenes.

But in the end of all that, Cartoon Network actually coming out as the dumbest for they shut down Toonami.

Hasbro is smart????!! 

I said Hasbro was smart enough to be as much of a dick on copyright matters as most other companies not that they don't do stupid things. Season 3 was okay for the most part, I loved all the attention Applejack got and Rainbow Dash got some awesome character development too but I do think they should be slapped for twilicorn. The writers can still make it work but they just made the writers cram it in without enough time to properly flesh it out. Equestria Girls was way way better than I ever expected it to be but objectively speaking would have been better if they gave it more time. I actually think that it is a toss up between Nickelodeon and Disney Channel for who is the dumbest but just when it looked like Cartoon Network was turning itself around with its Saturday morning lineup they go backwards again. They did technically bring back Toonami by putting it on late Saturday nights and effectively making it an anime branch of adult swim but it is of course not the same.

I don't know how many times I've said this on Fighting is Magic, but have you ever stopped to think that maybe it wasn't all Hasbro? We don't know the story, so as far as we know one of the companies that had bought licensing to make MLP games commercially forced their hand and threatened to raise a stink about them allowing such a high-profile unlicensed project to continue under their nose while they were selling rights to make commercial games.

Did you read the part called active members?

 

This forum is great and great but now it is commonly shrinking back from 2011, the birth of MLP.

I commonly see about the average 100 members active daily along 200 guests.

(Relatively speaking, Narutobase gets +1000 guest visits daily, i am not trying to mock MLP but to prove how small our community really is to the world right now.)

 

Of course, i will still be loyal to MLP until clearing all my doubts.

That's pretty good for a forum with a niche such as thing one, and I imagine the Naruto forum is so active because it's massively popular show that's been going for years.

Before Naruto Shippuden, many people predicted that the series have died as well as all anime are dying in the West as well in Japan. But i didn't give up my hope yet. So then the show  starts to go Shippuden, everything goes back to awesomeness again.

These newest Naruto Shippuden chapters have attracted back to the forum for a while, i was nearly sticked into that magnet to forget about MLP. I have to say anime in somewhat is still amazingly scripted to attract people around, Kishimoto was a master of troll. The last time, he trolled me was when he put Izanami on Itachi which making quite angry so i switched the first time to new fandom called My Little Pony. But now he pulled back the plot and shaping it a lot better now. Not even mentioning that Bandai put Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 on PC which i can buy on Steam, that game was so amazing. For now, i have never been so attracted back to the Naruto fandom again.

 

But honor bound me, i will still be remained active in this forum,

If they are smart, they should spend more times on improving their show and Equestria Girls instead of bounding to the Almighty Dollar.

Improving the show how, by making it the way YOU want it? Once again, you are demanding that Hasbro ignore the core demographic of young girls, to cater to the much MUCH smaller niche audience of grown adult fans. Face it. This will NEVER happen.

The characters in the show are too perfect in which I want to see a long lasting stronger villain. I demand funnier jokes and emotional scenes

I still want Hasbro to keep its core of girl demography.

First off, this fandom is anything but dying. Wanna see a dying fandom? Try Primal Carnage. They had a brilliant idea: you can play as a freakin dinosaur chomping humans or as the human shooting the dinosaurs. Unfortunately, they ruined the game by trying to cater to their Moderation team, a bunch of self-proclaimed "FeatherNazis", who go around whining abut dinosaur innacuracies in a Dino video game. Now, one of the most popular classes is effectively destroyed because their Moderators (who turn blind eyes on the antics of their friends) had to have a bigger model, risking the balance of the game. Their game is dead, their forum is dying, and that's all on the creator. MLP? Hasbro? I WISH they treated other fandoms as nice as they treat Bronies and Star Wars fans. Jurassic Park fans see Hasbro as nothing but a greedy corporation catering to Star Wars and completely ignoring what could be their most profitable lisence (a. Kids love Dinos; b. Hasbro has effectively destroyed JP merchandising by not sharing the license)

 

Second of all, the most probable reason why MLP forums are in a low spot as far as activity is concerned, is because we're nearing the end of between seasons. During the other seasons, we've had episodes out by now, but because of EqG, we're a little behind and still have to wait til mid November until S4. That's the only logical reason I can think of.
