Sholem Itzhak 84 November 3, 2013 Share November 3, 2013 (edited) It is a real pleasure and honor to have finally found a website where I can talk among fans and followers of "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". I wouldn't call myself a "Brony", but I am a fan of the Bronies as well as the television show. I remember when I first tuned into the show: I had been watching and enjoying "The Hub Network" (of course back than just "The Hub") for a while and enjoying what I’ve been seeing; I was especially interested in "Doogie Howser M.D." and other classics I had not seen in a long time (like Fraggle Rock, 1960’s Batman and Happy Days). For me, The Hub Network was one of the best things to have happen in today's Television, 'cause it brought back the look, feel and mood of clean innocent Television that we had seen fading away from major channels throughout the 2000's (Nickelodeon for example has now lost the innocent, open and creative charm it once had, and has become ridden with too much SpongeBob and icky comedies from "Schneider's Bakery"; and Cartoon Network would seem to have become an "Adult Swim" for children) and made it come alive again for today's young viewers. At first however, I tended to avoid watching MLP:FiM, thinking it was only for young girls. But then once day in early 2011, nothing else was on TV and I decided to give MLP:FiM a look (if I'm right, I tuned into the middle of a morning broadcast of "Diamond Dogs"); by the day, I was getting more and more curious to take a close look from seeing the characters in Hub promos (such as in that promo where Rainbow Dash says “Now that’s a Saturday morning” and then glares and smiles at the viewer). I watch the rest of my first episode and then decide to watch some more (starting with “Boast Besters” and “Look before you sleep”), and I am flabbergasted by what I just see. MLP:FiM felt like a children’s show that we had all been waiting for; it wasn’t like more contemporary shows like “Dora The Explorer”, it was more like classics such as “The Smurfs”, “The Muppet Babies” and “Fraggle Rock”. What especially impressed me was the show’s “E/I” accreditation; while the stories are robust and had "an edge" and there are eye-popping stunts (such as Twilight accidentally knocking a vase of flowers off her table in “The Ticket Master”), the show is still able to be mentally healthy, moral, nurturing and informative as well as entertaining and charming to watch. This is a show I know my mother would love to see; I’m sorry to say she passed away before The Hub Network launched. A short time later in the first half of 2011, I would discover the “Brony” movement; and I would further be impressed and very pleased to see the acclaim and inspiration that MLP:FiM had generated; I’ve been watching the “Brony” movement and am very impressed with many of the things it has been able to do. The Brony movement has encouraged people to further proliferate the show and the nourishing moral values and messages of Friendship, Harmony and Collective Wellbeing the show delivers; it has encouraged viewers to make suggestions and contributions to the show on a larger scale than any other show before it; the movement has encouraged artists to turn to the show for inspiration, and I am very pleased to see charming works of art such as “Snowdrop”, “Children of the Night”, plush toys and many of those “OCs” such as Lauren Faust’s self portrait of herself as an Alicorn; and it has encouraged people or organize for philanthropic purposes and help make the world a better place, “Bronies for Good” is one notable example. I also really enjoy seeing the show’s crew getting involved with the “Brony” movement and/or general fandom. I think this whole phenomenon of MLP:FiM and the Brony movement has great potential to help make the world a better place, and I myself have some clever ideas of my own that I would like to share with the show’s viewers and hope to one day share with the show’s crew; and it is my hope that with this Forum, I can finally start reaching out to everybody (and "everypony"). I'm looking forward toward making a clean and happy fresh start here. Edited November 3, 2013 by cmaven555

Aniki 386 November 3, 2013 Share November 3, 2013 You're a writer of some sort aren't you? I have welcomed quite a number of ponies over the past few days but very few held this much weight and consideration to every word and punctuation. (And here I thought I put a lot of thought into MY intro!) In fact this looks more like a professional article written in a newspaper! That's it isn't it? You're with the press! (Oh crap, I better watch what I say!) Aniki would like to formally welcome you to the forums and the herd as a whole. Always happy to hear how other ponies came into the fandom! I'm sure a pony like you will only make the community that much stronger! And just a by-the-by I hear this Aniki cat LOVES making friends; so keep that in mind! *nudge nudge* 1 ~Signature by my awesome sibling @Armchair Adventurer "Som"~

I think I am actually going to surprise you, ‘cause I’m actually not with the press, and I’m not a dedicated writer; I just put a lot of thought in the things I write (and when I write, I often tend to write a lot). I will admit though that among my experiences in multiple areas, I do have experience in making presentations, essays, letters (mostly E-mails), and I’ve even been coming up with stories which teach lesions.
