"Psshhh nonsense! No pony in their right mind would want an intimate relationship with a crazy earth pony like me! Right Nocturne? Right? Aw your precious."

 

He really wanted to believe that he was just too quirky and awkward for any real intimate relationship, besides..his friends always come first.

 

"well, if you're sure, ,but c.could you ask her for me? I...I'm too afraid to." He says petting the little glider, "Nocturne, that's a nice name. The kitten I gave Neon Fire, his name is Nightstar." Indigo says, "I..I guess I had better get back to practicing. I..I don't want to let my parents down. They have a lot of faith and belief in me, and they put a lot of effort into getting me to be able to sing at the festival."

Indigo tries to smile, the little sugar glider sure was cute, "Aww he is cute, I do love animals. What's the little critter's name? and Sketch, I still feel you would have a much better chance than me, for one, you're not a cryfoal like me." Indigo tries to put on a brave face.

"I didn't see her much, but I think she took a shine to you. I'm not sure how Sketch feels, but I think you should go for it. She seems awfully nice. As for my lil fuzzball, this is Nocturne. He eats bugs. It's a little creepy to feed him, but he was my only friend for a long time."

Tranq blushed yet again, silent berating herself. Really? Could you seem anymore loserish? You'd probably be less awkward by not talking. Nope. No, tried that before too.

Sketch smirked and chuckled to himself thinking clever..or at least he thought he'd be.

 

"You grow your own food here? That's amazing! A lone unicorn mare tilling her own fields to live off the land! Fantastic! I'm inspired!"

 

He went on about his usual ramblings about finding his inspiration.

"I thought it was you, your crops are quite close to my parents house as we live just on the outskirts of town, right near the EverFree Forest. My parents always smile when they see you growing your own food, and how well you treat the surrounding areas. My family, we're Wiccans you see, we live in tune with nature." He rambles on then turns to Sleepless Sketch.

"I've tried, but every time I do I get all nervous, but I think she knows I have feelings for her, but I don't know if she has the same sort of feelings for me."

 

He turns back to Tranq:

 

"It is, its the Beltane festival, and my parents are organizing and preparing it. I..I'm actually singing at it too."

"Fanta- do I say fantastic too much...huh, Fantastic! Why don't we all stop by there? I can go for some fritters!..don't know why, have a craving all of a sudden. BUT YES TALLY HO FRIENDS!"

 

Sketch excited as usual started trotting away back towards the town. He was a stallion on a mission and usually dragged along any ponies next to him, the quest for fritters had commenced! Seemingly ignoring Indigo's pleas in the process, though Sketch thought it'd be for his own good and grow a backbone.

Indigo shakes his head and goes along with it, maybe being around his energetic and crazy friend will help him. He turns to Tranq, "I swear, I have no idea where he gets all his optimism and energy from, but I wouldn't mind having some of it." He laughs to himself, he thinks about returning to practice but then his stomach growls, "I guess having something sweet may be a good idea right about now, Shall we?"

"Well I did take her to my favorite spot in the EverFree Forest and i did let her take in an orphaned little kitten, oh and my parents and I are letting her stay at our house because the inn is overbooked." He rambles on, he pets little Nocturne. "My parents are nice, I don't know what I did if I didn't have them as parents."

Walking aloft the stone stepped paved roads, the three friends found themselves just outside of said SugarCube store of sweetened delights. Of course Sketch was the first one to enter the shop as he stared in awe at the familiar yet very kept up with the times Shop.

 

"Excuse me my good pony! I'd like to purchase some fritters for my fr-"

 

Before he could finish his sentence, without warning he collapsed down into the floor as he plopped his chin on the tiled flooring.

 

"B-blimey, sorry bout that...hehe.."

 

Sketch said letting out a big yawn before picking himself back up again. That fall caught the store pony by surprise but ultimately sketch was fine, just a small accident..

"TALLY HO!" He exclaimed leading the other two into town.

Indigo fiddles with his pendant while channeling some positive energy towards Sleepless Sketch's spirit flow.

 

"Sketchy, you really got to get some rest in you, it isn't good that you're always falling down like this." He says as he helps his friend up.

Getting ready to walk into the store, Tranq inhales the smell of fresh pastries. Tantalized by the scents coming from inside, she almost tramples Sketch. "My goodness!" She exclaims, dancing backwards to avoid causing him injury. "I thought I was clumsy!" Before she can stop herself, she's stuck her hoof in her mouth again. Quickly covering her embarrassment, she offers Sketch a hoof up. "Are you okay?"

Thanks to both of his accompaniments, sketch was able to stand upright on his hooves again. He laughed nervously and slowly made his way outside the store to save him from embarrassment.

 

"Hehe...sorry I, I'm usually a little more careful about this...see I was born with..multiple sleeping disorders and it's not something I'm particularly am proud of haha.."

 

He chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck and mane with his hoof. He hated this condition and with a passion too. It was one of the many things he disliked about himself. Though fact of the matter was, despite his optimistic nature towards others, he didn't feel that same optimism about liking himself.

He asks as he takes his pendant off, "I want you to have this, I know it isn't much but... maybe it may help with your troubles." He says as he places the pendant in his friend's hooves.

Concern showed in Tranq's face. Not wanting to seem overbearing, but still worried, she ask, "When did you sleep last, Sketch? And where are you staying? I know this time of year the inn can get a bit over run."

 

Realizing she may have come across too forward, she berates herself again. You silly filly, stop acting like you're in foal school! Loads of other mares have stallions for friends!

Sketch looked at Indigo and saw his token of friendship, it was heart warming and hearing his own words inside that spazzed up head of his..he accepted it and took it around his neck.

 

"Thanks pal...your a good friend." He said smiling slightly at him. He turned his gaze over to Tranq and was a bit embarrassed by her kind concern.

 

"Well...last time I slept was when...I was on the train from Manehatten to here in Ponyville..aaaand I might have only slept...a good hour or two..maybe less?" He said sheepishly grinning at her question.

 

"My old house I use to live in is towards the east side of town past the bridge. It's not a big house but it's decent...I really don't want to make it a big thing, I'm fine really!"

Tranq senses this might be a personal moment, so she steps away to buy some fritters for herself and her newly acquired friends. She smiles to herself, liking the sound of that. Friends. After purchasing the pastries, she returns to the table where Sketch and Indigo are sitting, trying to be conspicuous about returning.

"Well obviously I don't, and to be honest Indy I can care less what happened to you, because that was all in the past and you have to start living in the now...i'm sorry to come off as blunt sometimes mate but it's all about right now. You, me, are lovely new friend Miss Tranq, Miss Fire you have yer eyes on, and all the ponies here in Ponyville. That's what it's really about.."

 

Sketch said actually trying to sound a bit more coherent and less...rambly and more higher provoking.

 

"FRIITTEERS! Ahhh you're a saint you lovely Beautiful Unicorn you!" He said, gleeful of excitement as he began munching on those heavenly fritters.

"Yeah you're right, besides I won't win Neon Fire's heart by dwelling on the past." Indigo says smiling, "You know what, I think your positive aura and energy is finally rubbing off on me. My mum and dad will be happy."

Indigo turns to Tranq, "Tranq, you know, whenever you need a helping hoof in your gardens, you can always come and ask me or my parents, we'd be more than happy to help."

Tranq settles back down to snack, offering tiny bits to Nocturne. She grins brightly at Sketch, then moves away from him a little, lest she lose her own fritter, too.

 

"You know, Indy, I thought it was awfully kind of you to give Sketch your pendant. I would have thought you would have given it to Neon Fire, since you seem to have your heart and horn set on her ((bad pun, sorry)). Can I ask what it is, what it symbolizes?"

"Well I gave Neon Fire a stray kitten, and yes my heart and horn are set on her, but Sketch needs the pendant. It doesn't really have any real power or anything, but it symbolizes a connection with nature and the positive energy and spirit flow of nature. Sketch has been there for me in the past, and I never really got to thank him, so I took it as a chance." Indigo smiles, "I have to say, it sure is nice to see you again Sketch."

He smiled back at her and ate all the fritters she had acquired for him. Despite all the attacks he had and hectic day, at the end of all of it, he was pretty satisfied with the old and new friends he could ever meet. With nice warm smile coming across his face he stood up and cleared his throat.

 

"Well everypony, I think that's going to do it for me for now. Indy, thank you so much for the warm welcome, let's do this again later! And Miss Tranq, Ohhh lovely lovely Miss Tranq, thank you for putting up with this crazy stallion's ramblings and whatnots, I hope to see you real soon! And don't be afraid to give me a holler if you want to talk! Now my friends it is time for this sleepless stallion to take a rest, Tally HO!"

 

He said giving his goodbyes for now as he waved at the two for a lovely conclusion for the day. It was finally time to get some REAL sleep! He trotted along the paved path and soon vanished among the crowds of ponies passing by, undoubtedly heading for home.

"Outside of Ponyville... Nothing's that special really." Hidden answered. "Why do you think I stopped here? I actually found a good town that I wanted to live in. It was really either move here or go back home to Baltimare." She continued. "And no way I'm going back there." She added.
