. eris . 1,661 November 27, 2013 Share November 27, 2013 Hello hello hello, my darling potato minions! Your friendly neighborhood stalker is once again on the prowl and demanding your opinion! As a few of you might have noticed, I haven't been online much recently, largely due to a busy schedule and college and whatnot. But that doesn't mean I have given up drawing ponies! Quite on the contrary, I hope to finish up some sketches digitally and then post them here for all to see. But first, I want to ask a few questions. I've started developing my own...style, I suppose it is, simply for aesthetic value, and I want to see if people like it. I started off trying for show-accurate ponies, but then it sort of branched off into this slimmer, taller build which I rather like. Could you take a look and tell me what you think? 1 Zatiko Cliff Chaser Sprocket Peppery Mint Tell Me What You Think Of Me
Scootalove 10,692 November 27, 2013 Share November 27, 2013 I think the new style looks pretty good. I feel that I really do prefer style over substance, so well done. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Mutemutt 773 November 27, 2013 Share November 27, 2013 I like it. I can't really picture what it would look like once you add in all the other bits and pieces but I'm liking this build; it kind of gives off that regal feel. Style really is the best part about art, isn't it
Batbrony 16,087 November 27, 2013 Share November 27, 2013 Reminds me a little bit of Citrus King's slim-style, albeit yours is far closer to the show's ponies still than his super-heavily stylized versions. Me, I like it, although I will say that as is it's a little hard to tell exactly how the final product will look; would definitely have a better idea of how it would look overall once you complete a drawing utilizing this particular style. I say go for it, because in my opinion the most impressive artists in the fandom are those who are able to still capture the essence of characters in their artwork whilst still incorporating their own unique style. Here's a few of the most notable examples that I've come across, just to reinforce that an original style can go hand-in-hand with substance. 1 "You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Arkane 270 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 Let me be the first one to say that I don't like it. It looks *too* stretched even for a cartoon character. Maybe making it a bit chubbier and less taller than the original would do. Then again, this is just my opinion. Feel free to disregard it.
