planning Harvest Moon: Friends of Windermare (OOC)

I am a big fan of the Harvest Moon series. Now, where I got this idea from was someone who said that a previous role-play that i was going to do was called A Wonderful Life, just like from the game Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. So, this got me to think, is it possible to start a role-play with a Harvest Moon setting?

 

The rules apply just like any other role-play and I will not be explaining them here for you should already know them, if not, that sucks for you. This will be open to anyone who wants to join but there is limited space.

 

How this is going to work is that anyone who is joining may decide on what kind of business they are going to start, whether it be a classic rancher, or a carpenter, or a blacksmith, or anything that is not too extreme.

 

To the people that are interested to join, i'm a little stuck and need some help. Should everyone be ponies or anthropomorphic? Either one will work but i want to make sure everyone will agree and that we will all have a wonderful time.

 

The characters that are accepted and start to role-play, you are free to look for a bride/groom. Just like the game series, it is a good idea to get married, although it is not recommended.

 

When everyone enters the role-play, you will start out as a new pony who comes to Ponyville to make your dream a reality. Everyone will start off with next to nothing and it is your responsibility to work hard to make everything you want come true.

 

 

 

Now, who wants to give this a shot?

I say ponies.
I also say perhaps change the town to a fan-made town? A lot of the typical jobs are already covered by Ponyville citizens. Like Sweet Apple Acres takes care of pigs and I believe sheep, and they're an orchard. I think if another farm popped up, they'd be rivals, and if a pony were to work with them, they'd be pretty set, I think. 

Anyway.

I CALL THE BAKERY!!!
My OC Cinnamon Glaze opens up a bakery in Windermare, so I can just make it so that she goes to Ponyville instead. No, it is not to rival Sugarcube Corner. While yes, Cinnie does make pastries, she also makes typical bread stuff... and stuff... I dunno how to explain it.

Reinsville? Could work. My initial thought was a play on Mineral Town, seeing as the RP is based off of Friends of Mineral Town, but the only thing I could come up with was Maneral Town. Awful.

I think you've pretty much got a brilliant idea going here: Ponies and Harvest Moon seem perfect together now that you've brought it up!

 

And It would give me a chance to use a character who's never really been used... so heres my application!

Sol would have just moved to town from an old farming family: his back-story is pretty much perfect for a harvest moon setting: something I didn't even realize until now.

 

Oh, and I vote ponies. Not a massive fan of Anthro.

Never quite forgotten.

I'm going to keep it as Ponyville, but the setting will be in an alternate world. The mane six will be there but they will have normal lives and some will not have their jobs depending on who picks what. For example, Applejack and Pinkie Pie will not be a farmer and baker, instead Cinnamon Glaze will be the baker and Solar Harvest will be the Farmer/Rancher. AJ and Pinkie will still be there but just be normal ponies with different jobs. Or working for the owners.

Also, I want to tell you the main reason I suggested a different town. Even if you change the Mane 6, there's still other ponies. The Cakes own Sugarcube Corner. There's still the rest of the Apple Family. 

I had more examples, but I forgot them.
I just say new town so you don't have to think up reasons why minor and background characters don't have their jobs. xD

Anyhow, I may have an OC that can take over the library.
Also, if you do still insist on Ponyville...
It's fine if Pinkie's still a baker, I already established that Cinnamon would have her own bakery.
