*Brass was walking down the hallway after gathering his supplies when he spotted Shadow.* "Hey, you look like a capable soldier, how would you like to join the team thats going to rescue the princesses? The commanders of Luna's guards are gathering a powerful unit to find the Dark Alicorn who kidnapped them. You seem like you would fit in well. What do you say?"

K-Bar's head snapped around at the arrival of the new pony. She wasn't quite sure, but sensed a certain aura of death about him. She subconciously slid her favorite knife out of its sheath and held it hidden under the table she was sitting at. "name and rank?" she asked, allowing an edge of authority to creep into her voice.

"Sure." he said with a slight smile as he walked over to the wall and sat down waiting "Let's just get this over with.....i need a real break sometime..." he thought

"Schwartz, what is this guy even doing here?" KB pulled the knife out from under the table and checked the blade for what must have been the hundredth time in that last hour.

 

"Then its none of our business. Just remember, KB and I are in charge of this operation."

"Er, right then... Anyways, what makes you think you're capable enough to go on this search and rescue mission? The stakes are too high for us to be slowed down by incompetence." KB walked over and kicked Crystal to wake him up as she said that last sentence.

"Ouch! Hey!" Crystal yelped, waking up. Rubbing his eyes, he glared at his aggressor before promptly falling back asleep.

KB scowled and drove the knife deep into the wood millimeters from Crystal's head with a loud thunk. "Naptime's over. We need to get moving."

At the sound of the knife flying through the air, Crystal woke up immediately. He glanced upwards to see the blade buried three inches into the wood above his head. "Jeez, that's gonna cost a bit to repair." Nonetheless, he got up, making sure his chainmail was on correctly, before picking the crossbow back up with his teeth and saying muffledly, "I'm ready."

Shadow got up, looking at the knife stuck in the wall "Not bad..." he thought. Except for a scarf he had no armor on, and did not seem to carry any weapons.

KB effortlessly pulled the knife free and made a show of spinning and flicking it around before sheathing it. "I still didn't get my answer, new guy"

"hmmm... I might have heard that name from somewhere... Something that zebra-pegasus said about vampire love triangles..." KB rubbed her chin, thinking hard.

Shadow looked at KB "W-what did you just say to me?" he asked. Images of happened that mission started to flashback. "What is this zebra Pegasus name?" he asked.

"hmm? Vampire love triangles? He was the husband of some great griffon blacksmith. He talked to me while she made my knives." K-Bar drew one of her knives to show Shadow. Riza was etched into the bottom in plain lettering.
