Has Anypony Played DarkkyShadow's MLP RPG?

I found this game sitting around on my computer recently and decided to play it, don't really have anything better to do right now. But I've been in the same fight for 120 turns now and it's getting extremely boring. One thing I've learned is it seems to have some sort of combo feature. When you attack, a little meter shows up and if you push it at the wrong time, the game notifies you that you 'missed,' implying you have to be able to hit it somehow, right? This is whats' stumping me. The only notifier of when you should press at all seems to be a little arrow in the middle of the bar but I just keep missing. I ask if you've played this game because I really need to help. Anypony?

Edit: I finally found one working key. The up arrow gives you five EP... Whatever that is.
